Telltale is stopping support for older consoles
The Walking Dead: A New Frontier wasn't on PS3 or Xbox 360 while it was on smart phones, now same with Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2.
I'm very mad at this coice Telltale made because I'm not a person with a lot of money and my computer can't run games at high framerates and only console I own is a PS3.

It is unfortunate as i was also a older Gen user until telltales discontinuation. With that said it's for the best that they drop older consoles especially after the horrendous Batman debacle that occurred.
Sadly from here on out, there are going to be less and less games available on previous gen consoles
The industry is just evolving. It's not Telltale's fault. Like it or not, the PS3 and Xbox 360 are gonna start to fade into obscurity.
Another reason why every time I'm liking Telltale less and less.
We're basically already there. Even a lot of Japanese game companies are starting to stick to PS4 versions with no PS3 version.
Lol why the fuck is everyone mad at telltale the ps3 and Xbox 360 are old as fuck don't act like other companies don't do this either
I don't know if you noticed but Guardians of The Galaxy has a PS3 and a Xbox 360 version but MC:SM S2 and TWD:ANF doesn't. This means more popular games are on current gen platforms only.
Thats a good idea on their part. Its time to move on from old hardware.
I really like Telltale and I can understend that industry is just evolving, but I have to say that this change got me sad. Even on the cell phones, the requirements to play TWD s3 are so high.... I think they let a lot of people behind on this season, just like me. So bad, I wish I could keep playing the game, I used to love it.
You sure? I don't think that is the case at all. I double checked and they aren't on that.
Why not play on mobile?
Guardians is not on last gen at all. It’s not telltales fault it’s just their engine needed to be upgraded and the last gen consoles don’t have the hardware to run it. At least give telltale credit for trying to get Batman to run on it but it still did not work out sadly. If I were someone in a situation like this though I would suggest playing on mobile.
Just give me "tales from the borderlands" physical version for PS VITA I don't care about neither batman nor new frontier nor minecraft.
The real question is: Why play on mobile?
I understand if you don't have a console or PC and can't/don't want to buy one, but Telltale games on mobile are terrible. They run shitty, are almost always delayed...if you have any other option, don't play on mobile. I thought people would have learned that by now.
Why? Have you actually seen how the telltale games are running on the PS3? Episode 6 of GoT was unplayable, and some MCSM episodes had minute(s) long loading screens. Not to talk avout Batman, that was even worse than GOT epside 6. I mean, Batman even had problems abd framedrops on the PS4, XONE and PC.
It's a good move from telltale. Their games upgrades in graphics and other things, while the old-gen consoles aren't. It really isn't their fault. And it would be foolish to make Guardians of the Galaxy: A Bad Graphics Series, for example.
Jesus man you gotta realize that these consoles were gonna get abandoned eventually, telltale games can't run on the terribly weak last gen consoles anymore. Deal with it.
Telltale's games looks barely next gen, woooot!
But telltale's games barely look current gen. Heck, some PS2 games looks almost as great as telltale.
You do know they do this in purpose, right? Older games worked just fine, no need to change fue engine or whatever they changed... yet they did. It's called capitalism. These guys that own PS and XBox probably pay companies to make their games only for the new consoles, basically forcing us to KEEP BUYING BUYING BUYING things that we don't really need and just work as a hobby, yet they keep taking our money.
Telltale went with the flow. No need to change anything, but they changed anyways. Consoles don't get obsolete unless the games change.
Because we don't want to buy ANOTHER console when a have one that works perfectly Fine (read my comment above)
360 and ps3 are old and outdated now. why would any company bother making content for a obsolete platform, its a waste of time.
I for one am furious that we still don't have a dreamcast port for Walking dead
Cant really blame Telltale for discontinuing PS3 and Xbox 360
PS3 and Xbox 360 have been out of date for a good amount of years now. Telltale cant just keep releasing on old consoles. Like, PS5 comes out, should Telltale still be making games for PS3 AND PS4 now? Plus with the new engine shown with Batman, Xbox 360 and PS3 cant even handle Telltale games well now.
So Id hate to say it because it might sound mean, but its time to upgrade
it's odd how people are saying the last-gen consoles can't handle the newer games when most of telltale's games look objectively much worse graphically than basically any good game that game out on last gen (Dark Souls, The Last of Us, Skyrim, etc.)
edit: my comment literally had like 3 passive aggressive thinking emojis and 2 entire other sentences before it was posted. thanks a million telltale website.
except it's not an obsolete platform. the generation 7 consoles still have fantastic looking games and function genuinely well. of course i'm not saying we shouldn't be moving on to the new generation, i love my ps4 a lot more than my ps3 (i'd love it a lot more if it were backwards compatible but that's a rant about xbox and sony i'm not willing to get into) but saying the last generation of consoles are a waste of time is dumb imo
They don't look that good I agree. Last gen consoles still can't handle it though, for reasons out of my understanding. Batman port didn't work, you can't deny that.
Well, I'm sorry, but that's how the world works. It's unfortunate that some people don't have the money to spare to upgrade, but game companies shouldn't and won't keep their games compatible for older generation consoles, especially when it reaches the point where new games run horribly on them. Which it has.
That's completely true, but it still doesn't add up. Maybe I'm crazy but it kinda seems like telltale is doing this on purpose so players will move to PC or next gen. Again, I could just be crazy, I'm off my meds currently so I might be 100% wrong, but it just doesn't add up how every telltale game up to Batman functioned just fine and worked with hardly any seriously game breaking issues, and then suddenly Batman comes out and it doesn't work.
New games are made on purpose that way! They are made so that they run horribly in old consoles to make us buy new ones! It's all on purpose.
And I can't believe some people are just fine with companies shitting on us like this. Man, no way I'm just saying "Well, shit happens" and go with it. No way I'm giving them what they want, which is money.
I hatw capitalism so much.
It's not on purpose it's because those consoles are fucking outdated why waste the resources/time on putting it there when pretty much everyone at this point has a ps4/X1
Newer games are made with better engines, which produce better graphics that old gen consoles simply cannot handle very well. It sounds like you're saying that companies and individuals shouldn't be using better hardware as it becomes available to the public.
Their engine was updated for better graphics once Batman released. Whilst they were doing that, I'm guessing they added more improvements and optimizations for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC, as it would make their games easier to port to those consoles and the bulk of their audience is present at said consoles. It's irrelevant which games looked "better" last gen. It's all about optimization. If they worked at it longer, then I assume they would be able to get their new games playable for previous gen, but the amount of money and man hours it would take to have that optimization be done wouldn't be worth it, seeing as it is a small minority of players who still only own last gen systems.
WELL WHY DO THEY SPEND SO MUCH MONEY IN MAKING A PS4 OR XBOX ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE
WHO EVEN NEEDS THOSE
Who cares about bettet graphics?
Man I can believe some people are okay with wasting money in things big companies makes us think we need like new consoles... it's painfully obvious they're making it all to get more money and sell even MORE consoles.
I hate Capitalism so bad.
You know it's been four years since the Xbox One and PS4 came out? If you didn't make $350/$400 in that time then that's your fault.
Well, of course, they want to make money. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are shitty consoles -- compared to the Xbox One and PS4 -- when it comes to just about everything; we absolutely needed new consoles seeing as how the Xbox 360 and the PS3 wouldn't be able to run the current games that are coming out right now -- I seriously don't understand why that's so bad (plus a lot of the people that make these consoles are indeed gamers as well and they just want what's best). Capitalism is amazing because newer and better products are created when they need to be.
Current-gen.
It's been 4 years and it's time for last-gen users to move one.
I know it'll upset a few people but... they are getting old now, and gaming is only advancing. Maybe it'll encourage Telltale to further advance their engine, and that alone is something I like the sound of.
That's what's good about the Xbox One: Backwards compatibility; you can move on while at the same time playing classics.
