  • I'm with you. Revenge of the Sith have heaps of great moments. <3 great fights, hidden genders, plotting, government corruption. Yes the fall of Anakin and being the reason be love was a little cheesy but out of other movies in the pre-seaqles Revenge of the Sith is best Phamtom Mence and Attack of the Clones.

    Why not a grey Jedi?

"") ok question time - do you guys think that Kylo Ren should come back to the good side of the force or remain on the dark side? do you guys want him to take on an appendence and rule the galaxy? do you want to be Anakin 2.0?

  • So you think he will be the first Grey Jedi we see in the movies? correct me if i'm wrong but the term grey jedi is some one who use light and dark side powers?? If that's true then Luke would be a Grey jedi since in the novels he use both light and the dark sides met them in the middle without losing himself.

  • Since the Last Jedi was a flop and my brother and I were so disappointed, we've cheered ourselves up by going back and re-watching the Clone Wars series on Netflix. We're surprisingly having a TON of fun geeking out over it. For those that say it's a "kids' show"... it really isn't. From what I can see, the targeted audience is kids but the show gives off more of a teenage vibe. There are actually some REALLY gruesome deaths offscreen, such as Grevious crushing an enemy's skull.

  • Yeah, I'll never understand the cancellation of that show. I fucking hate Rebels, I tried few episodes and it's nothing but a childish Star Wars story, Clone Wars was more brutal and had better characters and animation.

  • YES! I HATED the Star Wars Rebels. I even hate the concept surround Rebels in Star Wars. Like I cheer like crazy over The Empire and I never cheer the Rebels in Star Wars. I kinda like concept around The Empire and I would like a Grey area in Star Wars.

BTW I don't think I liked the concept of Rebels has good guys. That concept never worked for me at all. Even if they did good and I kinda think not every single Rebel is good in Star Wars.

Honestly, the more I think about this movie, the more I've grown to despise it. It's to the point where I'm willing to put both Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones as better movies. While the movie isn't completely devoid of good things, what it fails in just infuriates me to no end to the point where the good fails to resonate anymore, and the bad continues to fester and grow my hatred bigger. Even some of the more petty stuff is beginning to become legitimate gripes I have with the film. If you want to watch a hilarious video on it, I'd recommend this (and it has clips from the movie, is that against the forum rules, ah whatthefuckever, Porgs are cute).

I feel the same. I think Disney got a lot of things wrong like:

    • Killing off every single beloved OT character in the new trilogy. First Han, then Luke and we don't know what is going to happen to Leia, she is likely going to die because of Carrie Fisher (RIP). Chewie is probably going to be the one who survives.
    • Rey's character. I'm not one of those people who call her Mary Sue (I don't even know what that means) but she is OP, she managed to beat both Luke and Kylo Ren without any training. George Lucas confirmed that Luke Skywalker is the most powerful jedi of the whole franchise and he gets easily defeated like he was never a jedi.
    • Handing the Star Wars game license over EA. Microtransactions, pay to win, cancelling Star Wars games that had potential? WE WANT GOOD STAR WARS GAMES, NOT SLOT MACHINES, YOU RETARDED ASSHOLES!!!! I will never forgive EA after cancelling Amy Hennig's Star Wars project.
    • Cancelling the latest seasons of The Clone Wars and replacing it with Star Wars Rebels.
    • Making unnecessary Star Wars movies like Solo: A Star Wars Story (Han Solo already has 3 great movies, what's the point?). An Obi-Wan solo movie would be more convincing and Ewan McGregor should reprise the role.

Episode 9 is going to be the last SW movie I'm going to watch on theaters unless they make an Obi-Wan spin-off. I feel like I'm losing interest in Star Wars.

  • Went to go and watch this film again, and I still can’t get my head around why people dislike it. The characters were cool, the visuals were stunning, the score was magical and the story arcs weren’t bad. I’ve came to a conclusion that people dislike it solely because of the humour, but movies shouldn’t be judged based on jokes. Also the casino scene which I could possibly see why people might dislike it, but the whol movie shouldn’t be judged because of one scene either.

  • Do you want the rundown?

Things that were set up in the previous movie go nowhere, the treatment and overall discarding of Snoke, Luke drinking titty milk, the casino planet subplot that has no importance, the entire character of Rose, Finn not being able to sacrifice himself, that purple haired woman, Leia Supwerwomaning herself in space, bombs dropping in space, ships coming to a halt after running out of fuel in space (overall, a lot of the rules of space were ignored in this movie, I get it's sci-fi, but still), the treatment of Luke's character and how he does a complete 180 from the original trilogy, unexplained force powers that either work (Luke astro projecting himself) or are ridiculous (as mentioned, Leia, but also Yoda summoning lightning), forced liberal/progressive political messaging, animal rights, porgs, the fact that we still have no idea how the First Order rose to power and took over the galaxy, why there was a Republic, but also a Rebellion, how Snoke met and brought Kylo Ren to the dark side, why Luke hid a map to his location when he never wanted to be found in the first place, and a few other things.

About the bombs part... it IS Star Wars, wouldn’t surprise me if they had some technology in them that allowed them to defy gravity. The only things I didn’t like was the Luke situation and the Snoke situation. I thought the Leia in space scene was beautiful and I also liked the Yoda part, even when he did summon lightning. Also while I’m here, the force projection thing is KIND OF shown in one of the old republic cinematic trailers, where a Jedi is actually physically there but when she is stabbed the lightsaber just goes through her hands and a blue kind of energy thingie shows up where the lightsaber was jabbed into, maybe dig into that kind of lore and there may be something about it like this somewhat similar instance?

To be fair most of the force powers are explained in the comics, the video games and the books while th movie isn’t there for lore purposes, just to tell a story so if you want an answer then I’m sure an explanation for the force projection ability is out ther somewhere.

  • I'm late typing but I saw this the day after it came out and would give it a 9½/10
It was honestly a great movie but so many questions where not answered and more where added
I thought the Porgs where just for that $$$$ thats Disney for ya.
But I enjoyed Lukes come back also when he pulled a straight up Neo move on kylo at the end.
Also it was nice to see Yoda on the big screen. The only thing I thought was a little corny was when
Leia floats back to the ship using the force.
Snokes death was great and I just really liked it

  • Am I the only one who thinks JJ Abrams should have directed The Last Jedi, even he copied ideas from previous Star Wars movies? I think he had a lot of answers and better ideas for Episode 8 but Rian Johnson just ignored his points and made the story just for himself. That could have prevented the fan backlash.

I have a bad feeling about Episode 9.

I found the Last Jedi to be pretty terrible. There's too many plot issues. The entire Finn and Rose segment could have been completely cut with the simple story change of "this is the plan" and now that entire part of the movie is gone. Rey apparently is the most powerful person to ever use the force and seems to have somehow mastered it as well as combat with just 2 "lessons" with Luke. Snoke just goes "RIP fam catch yall l8r lmao" which was really disappointing considering he somehow was the one who basically jump started the Empire again after Return of the Jedi, with no explanation on how he did that or why he was so powerful, or who he even was at all. It could have worked and the scene was really good seeing Kylo Ren have this change. It could have worked but it fumbles. In Force Awakens and even in Last Jedi we see Kylo is still being pulled to the light side and so we see him kill Snoke and we assume he's going to go to the light side, but instead its "haha im still bad tho just wanted to kill him lmao." This also leads to my next problem that there is basically 2 climaxes in this film. Kylo killing Snoke, and then the Kylo vs Luke fight. This movie is already so long and considering like I said that whole Finn and Rose side story was so pointless to the plot it feels like a long mess, so having the 2 climaxes just adds to the confusion of the story telling.

Now for personal gripes. The Rose and Finn thing was terrible. It made me stop caring about Finn, and he was one of my characters to come out of Force Awakens, and Im sorry but Rose was a horrible character. Her character just didnt fit in this universe, at least not to be in a "major" role. Next is how this whole movie just goes "dude fuck force awakens who gives a fuck lmao" and just makes everything set up lead to nothing or just dont make any sense continuity wise. "Oh yeah Rey's parents are nobodies who sold you for water haha um ignore the scene where they flew away on a spaceship." "Yo yo yo Luke left this map for us to find him haha O SHIT jk he didnt want to be found cuz he wants to die alone but he made this map cuz why not lmao."

Last Luke's character was botched pretty bad. Return of the Jedi Luke is out here convinced he can save Darth Vader from the Dark Side, but now his nephew might turn to the dark side so instead of talking to him he considers just killing him? Hello? And the worst part at the end of this stupid movie is that we see Luke confront Kylo. We then find out it was all a trick to help everyone escape, and then we see Luke on the rock after. During this scene I thought "Ok awesome Luke is finally out of his depression and all that, he got everyone out and is now going to actually join up with the Resistance and he will help everyone stop Kylo in episode 9- o and hes fucking dead?" Seriously what was this? Luke dies of high cholesterol or something? Just poorly done and a shitty send off for a character as iconic as Luke Skywalker. Dies of a heart attack ;'(

  • Ironically, I saw Rogue One in the same day Fisher died.

  • If I remember correctly, my dog died on the exact same day as Carrie did, and they had similar names: one being Carrie and the other being Cassie. Huge coincidence. And yeah, I never knew about this rogue one mention. I’m assuming it was a thanks for the CGI permission or something like that

  • You know what? I agree with everything you mentioned. When I saw the movie, I enjoyed it and didn't understand the hate but now I get it. It's good movie but it's a terrible Star Wars movie.

What's worse is that Lucas mentioned Luke was the strongest Jedi in the SW universe and he gets easily defeated by an untrained Jedi.

It seems like Rian Johnson didn't give two shits what JJ Abrams or George Lucas had to plan and wanted to make a SW story for himself, no wonder he plans to make his own trilogy.

Kinda like that. I mean it was OK,but still I just tried my best to watch it. It was good, but kinda underwhelming.

  • Funny review i found

This was one of the most surreally confused moments I've ever experienced in a movie theater. You could feel the entire room just quietly furrowing its brows and going "Wait... What?" But they don't even give you the time to make up your mind whether you're happy she's alive or baffled at what the fuck she just did, because she literally glides herself back into a ship, they pop her on a gurney and the movie just carries on. You don't really have a choice but to just accept it and set it aside for later, because within 2 minutes they cut away and the story's carrying on like nothing major had happened.
Seriously, nobody in the movie reacts to this in any way. Poe literally watches her fucking Superman her way across the cosmos and he just has a vaguely intrigued expression. Nobody says "did you know she could do that?" or "that was insane!" or anything acknowledging what had just happened to any extent. They just keep rolling along as if Leia zooming around was just the must casual fucking thing that ever happened. It just feels so bizarre in the context of the movie, and in the context of the universe

Actually most evidence points towards the hero of tython from the old republic game being the strongest Jedi. We didn’t see him get his ass beaten a single time, and when the emperor corrupts him to the dark side he breaks free by himself (well sort of) as well as going on to whup the asses of every Jedi master who got corrupted along side him/her, later giving the player the choice to execute them or to bring them back to the light side. I know that it is technically legends now but every legends character has a canon counterpart, right? Anyway look the guy up and you’ll see that look would be childsplay if the two were to duel :p

About getting defeated by Rey, TECHNICALLY Luke did win, he disarmed her and everything, but she goes and pulls out an actual lightsaber on him while he had nothing to defend himself with (yes he could have used the force to push her away but did he really want to push a young girl off a cliff?) idk, just my thoughts

  • Well i played Swtor recently, and i don't know the hero of tython / outlander had the emperor with him otherwise he gets his ass kicked really easily and that's just bullshit, you're technically just a Jedi nothing more Revan couldn't beat him with the Exile why a simple Jedi could ? that would make more sense if we would have seen Revan help the outlander at the end of the last expansion. Also i'm pretty sure, the real canon story is the Jedi knight, you're talking about the Jedi consular.

So,yeah this is just Legends i think there's others characters way powerful in Legends.
