If I'm not mistaken, you CAN use a NTSC console here, with PAL games, as long as you have a widescreen TV with HD Ready thingie.
A friend of mine has a PS3 which he bought from Canada where it was about 180 euros, compared to romania where it is about 370 euros.

    PS3's are region free, though.

My brother has an European PS3, but when he tried playing an American copy of this fps it wouldn't allow how to play over the internet, which is pretty much why he bought the game in the first place.

Romania is not on the PlayStation list of countries :) My friend set up his PS3 using Canada codes and stuff.

I think it's so stupid that some countries "don't exist" in the video game world. Maybe there aren't as many gamers in Africa as Australia, but I doubt it. Australia and New Zealand combined are something like 25 million, and Sub-Saharan Africa is 770 million. Even if only 1% of African's played video game that would be equal to 30% of the Australian/Kiwi population. I know in the scheme of things it's not really a big deal, there are worse things in the world than importing video games, but it still kind of bugs me.

My internet's been out for a while and I only heard about the contest today. And I'm already working on an animation for someone which needs to be done for Halloween, so I won't have time to enter. Sounds great fun though! Maybe I'll enter next year's contest.

Good luck to all, I'm looking forward to seeing the entries!!

I'm gonna submit my Sam costume. I've got all the pieces except face paint. I hope I get it in on time. ;)

Well, as you can see, I wanted to make a reverse version of the CMI cover. I'm pretty sure I won't make it before the deadline due to my lack of discipline and free time, but once it's done, you'd see it in the Fan Art Thread.

    Soo, good luck everyone. :p

That's awesome, though a little disturbing... But what an idea, and it looks amazing so far! ;)

I would like everyone to know... that my hands are going to fall off soon.
6 hours non-stop work. Break for two hours. Then 5 hours non-stop work. That was only yesterday.

50% ready. Went to bed at 3 AM.

I expect tonight to make the rest of 50%... which probably will mean another 10-11 hours of work. It's totally worth it and I sincerely hope you guys like it.
That is all I wanted to say...

Oh, and really awesome idea Spadge! Would be cool if you could make it for the contest! Awesome job!

    whooo! I'm so excited!
And so curious to what everyone else is making! A lot of awesome artists I've stumbled upon on this site have promised to whip up something cool for the contest ^__^
    it's like Sinterklaas! (whu?)
I can't wait to check out all the amazing work next thursday! (and in the meanwhile when people show off their brilliance in the fanart section after the deadline :3)
Talk about brilliant, Spadge's concept on the "inverse" CMI cover is awesome! would be such a waste if you won't be able to make the deadline : o
and lol, LeChuck is such a hippie with his flower xD

Oh damn, found out about this way too late.

So, I've got one evening if I want to cook something up. What can I pull off in that time? XD

And wow, Spadge. Absolutely wow. If this was a judged by votes, you'd have mine. You have to make it before the deadline.

judgin by that fact that there were two pieces of paper in your first picture, and now theres only one, it seems to be that you merged the two pictures together. maybe i'm out of date, but tell me. how the heck did you do that?

Oh, I just scanned both and photoshopped them to death.

And I somehow managed to make it in time. Though it's not as good as it could've been, if I started eariler instead of waiting for the last day or two. So maybe Telltale will show with with the rest of the entries later this week. I'm really curious to see what the other guys did.

thats good. it seems a shame to not enter it.

i like how to photoshoped them "to death." i'm gonna start saying stuff like that, and adding a "to death" after it.

Against all this art, a short story will not succeed. My hopes = down the toilet.

I've sent in my text adventure. It's not as good as I wanted it to be. Stupid anxiety. But it's winnable, and it has some lines I like in it. And I did work pretty hard on it.

You'd be surprised :) Try everything...to the death, and see what happens

I scrapped what I wrote before and reformatted it into a Short Story and I'm about halfway done now. My biggest fear is not finishing it, actually.

Just wondering, has anyone received a reply saying they received the entry?

No, and I'm paranoid about it.

Did you realise that that comes off as kind of rude? You haven't even seen it.

    Complimenting you is rude?

You can't imagine how I can relate to that.
  • edited October 2009
"It won't win any prizes but they'll probably mention it" is a compliment? I can see how it was meant, but I was just telling them how it came off.
  • edited October 2009
Im with Shwoo on this one it could be interpreted as rude... even though you may not have meant it to be.
  • edited October 2009
I think he meant it like "You will AT LEAST make Honorable Mentions"

I submitted my Sam costume, but I think I look more like a gangster than a Sam. :P

I had a little question about the contest when I sent in my entry, and I received a reply with the answer to my question and "Thanks for sending them in", so I guess they received it. ;)

Contest rule #1: "It's been said in years past, and I'll say it again: Please don't do anything illegal or that would make baby Jesus cry."

    This was my semi-serious entry...

I got it today, so they're probably working through the e-mail entry sea these days!
And a little hint on my entry:
    It's not a drawing.
  • edited October 2009
I'm not creative in the slightest, shame really as i'd have loved to have entered.

yes, now that i think of it, it could be considered rude. i did mean it the way StLouisRibs said. All the same, sorry, Shwoo, if you took it the wrong way, and thanks for pointing it out.
