Nah, Stan can't hate Guybrush. He's a consummate salesman and knows the customer is always right. He'd never let trivial things like pride or personal safety get in the way of a sale.

You're forgetting just how grateful Stan was in MI3 - he had a freaking effigy while nailed into the coffin.

And really - used vehicles, insurances, real estate, being a lawyer would fit his repertoire of ill-reputed professions that make lots of cash flow.

(Where have all the spoilers gone?)

Well... it's all still speculation at this stage, so they can't possibly be actual spoilers, can they? ;)

DeLuca seems right about CLUB 41, and I don't think the club-members were particularly happy with the previous barfight.

    There, enough spoilers?

    Screw the spoilers!

    It's the 21st!

We need the episode release date!

    It's behind the sofa, actually.

You see, it's a funny story, really.
On my secret mission to uncover the download file for Episode 4, a flash of light came from nowhere. I'm assuming this is their anti-piracy defense system... which seriously, how lame to have an anti-piracy system on a game about piracy... but anyways! Temporarily blinded, I clicked rapidly. The rest happened in slow motion because they want people to feel the torture they went through making the episode. Okay, so, you see... I deleted the file. But luckily I click the download button first, so at least I have it! =D And that's how it all went down. Hilarious story... right? Right???
Durrrrr! That porcelain bowl is harder than I thought- no, not the face!

    That wasn't funny.

Episode 4 is coming within the week, I'm sure of it.

If it's November, everyone will just get pissed and send hate mail/spam the forums until they're forced to take it down again, and everyone loses.

So let us all wait patiently for the inevitable release date announcement. It's normally a week in advance, tomorrow is the 22nd so most likely it will be announced then, if they're gonna get it out before the end of the month.

Just remember that we Australian's are a day ahead of most everyone. (Aren't we special :D) So while it may be the 21st here it's still the 20th in Telltale land. Always add an extra day to your calculations regarding release dates.

But they always release it in the designated month, regardless or your area. The latest they can release the game is the 31st here, or the 30th over there.

    I took it into account.

For example an episode of a tv show called How i met your mother comes out every week at the same time always. How come they don't leave us waiting? Because they are well organised! I haven't met them but every episode is brilliant and comes out on the day they told us it will. I wouldn't care if the TMI episode would come in december i really wouldn't. But nope they don't have any dead lines. Not even they know when the episode will be coming out. And that's why I call them irresponsible. I'm not saying i don't like the episodes or don't appreciate them. I'm simply telling the truth.

    1. The reason Tv episodes are released every week is because they're mostly filmed all at once, except they may have a day off or two.

    2. Games are a lot different, a tv episode doesn't have a bug or glitches, that they have to fix..if somthing doesn't go right with a tv show or somthing they either, re shoot it and push it or they leave it in. A bug or a glitch takes time to fix, you wanna better product you take the time to make a better product.

    3. You spend your time, complaining about the wait and the deadlines, why don't you just buy another game and play it until ep 4 comes out.

    4. For a fact they, do have deadlines. They have to be on the ball for 8 to 12 hours a day to get the product ready for us. For our enjoyment, and you sit here and rag on them because the game isn't out yet?

My point is, research your facts before you start harping about deadlines, and disorganized someone is.

Telltale is by far the best game company, I've met. They care a lot about their fans, do you know any game company, that will talk to you for an hour and a half about mundane stuff and answer questions with an I don't know, and give you an honest answer?

Or post on the forums with us, and mingle with us like telltale does, I think not.

This is obviously not including the massive budgets TV shows attract with considerably more manpower.

As an example, so that they could manage their release schedule, when filming the Battlestar Galactica series, (excluding opportunistic scenes) they were filming 2 episodes at a time, with 2 complete crews and even 2 directors (who needed to fight over who got which talent/studio on which days).

If you were to try to raise this sort of budget/manpower for a computer game (which is has already been mentioned a completely different task in pretty much every sense) You'd be expecting everybody to pay considerably more than $6/episode.

*complaining about complainers complaining about complaining, understands the irony so you don't have to point it out*

That's not true, I've worked as an extra and oftentimes episodes are only filmed weeks prior to the airing and sometimes do not even have a final draft written and approved yet by that time.
  • edited October 2009
Some shows are filmed the day before, but they tend to be studio set, 5 camera jobbies which require very little budget and there's very little that can go wrong.

Not having a final draft until the filming starts, is hardly an issue when all you need to do to get people to say a line, is to have them say a line.

This comparison is getting more and more rediculous by the post.

Only if you're alive to tell the tale.

That's just silly. There is no way you could get me from all the way over... oh god, what are these snakes doing here? I have to get to the doctor before their vile poisons reach my heart. Who-who glued my door shut?
    Oh no, noooooo nooooooooooooooooooo...

as a testament to the difference between tv shows and games, take the following scenario:

imagine a tv show performed in front of a live audience. the actors know their lines and it runs 20 minutes with a break in the middle.

Now picture a games company trying to 'perform' a game live. each tmi game will take at least 2 hours what with all the different dialogues for doing different things and whatnot... And i bet the artists, cut scene directors and the programmers' fingers sting!

Or how about this - how long did terminator salvation take to produce? Compare that to the recent GTA4 (and its dlc if you like)

To try and drift nearer the topic, I'm sure this has been said before (although I haven't spotted it).

Maybe there's no release date yet, because whenever they announce a release date, as soon as the midnights hit in every timezone in the world, there's a barrage of complaints on here by people that don't understand that the release date is sometime on that day in PST.

I doubt it will be tomorrow because that's not enough notice. Besides, if it is (in essence) ready tomorrow (after two all-nighters for the programmers in the office), tomorrow will be non-stop playtesting. Or at least that'd be my guess.
