#3... Futurama? Dr. Who? Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy? Dark Crystal? Star Wars?
  • edited November 2009
Maybe it could be Alf. Or Star Trek
  • edited November 2009
Interesting suggestions. Is there maybe any other reason to connect these ips to telltale? I have seen the topics but i didn't seem to find any hints?
  • edited November 2009
Well, I guess Alf wouldn't work, for it wouldn't be very "dark." He is from another planet, though. Star Trek could work ok, but its unlikely that telltale would use it, simply because. Its not really comedy based. I really like the idea of a Loom game, and I think it would be perfect.

They've indicated they have a non-comedy game in the works (likely the 'dark' IP).

Good to know. now what dark games can telltale have that is dark. hmmm...

    Telltale doing non-comedy?!

Only thing I can think of is they're hinting something to do with the moon ("closest" to going to another plant).

Although I doubt it is, a modern sequel to The Dig would be quite fun.

Guys, it's quite obvious. It's CSI: In Space.

Eavesdropping just means they overheard somebody say it. They were probably talking about doing salvia.

Maybe NASA is just putting a copy of every Telltale Game inside a deep space probe, hoping aliens would play the games and see how advansed and awesome the human race is.

Ever consider the idea that the next Maniac Mansion game might take place on other planets? However, I really, truly, hope for a Futurama game.

This makes a lot of sense.

Holy cr- it couldn't be, could it? Now I really don't know what to expect.
  • edited November 2009
It would be a smart fit... Space Quest did have a similar sense of humor that most TTG games have..

    I would definitely play it

Activision. The same people who didn't publish Brutal Legend, and then tried to sue the people who did... so take that for what it's worth.

doesn't Blizzard own Activision or is it the other way around?

...What if it wasn't hinting anything?

What if the person listening didn't even know the context?

    I'm just saying.

She has a point. (Isn't she a she?) Anyway, I think she has a point. Someone was probably just talking about taking a visit to Joshua Tree National Park.

Or ... the intern is trying to us to throw us off the scent! Yes ... that must be it.

A company (called Activision Blizzard) owns both of them, but they're separate entities. Wikipedia still seems to suggest that the Sierra properties are owned by Activision specifically.

He's just trying to hide that someone hit it right on the nail!

I'm confused. How could it be Space Quest if it's a "non-comedy?"

Also, I think nikasaur is neither guy, nor girl, but dinosaur.

The person listening didn't have to know the context, thats what we are here for! To speculate..

Seems a random thing to post with no context whatsover.

Good point ... I was too excited to realize.

Hold on, are you suggesting dinosaurs are genderless? No wonder they're extinct...

Even with having partnered with CBS, Futurama and Dr. Who seem a little bit big for telltale

I think Ubi had the power to get into that license ... they are a distributor of choice for some studios ....

Also licensing with CSI should be cheaper than with Dr. Who (think difference in ratings is quite big too)

Telltale games sure has the expertise to do a game like that but its maybe hasn't the image to do so, yet ?! :/
  • edited November 2009
I like Dr. Who and all, but I don't really want to see a Telltale game based on it. Just not something I'd like to see in an adventure game. Then again, I probably would have said the same about Indiana Jones if I had watched the movies first.
