Other forums can't compete with the TTG fanbase
Hey guys!
I was skipping through a game forum, very big fanbase, huuuuge forum, and I noticed an announcement from the staff (I'll just paste here the short important things):
(...) If your idea for a thread has no basis for rational discussion, don't post it.
Furthermore, to EVERYONE who responds to any thread in this section, stop and think "Is this spam? Is this purely a joke post?" If the answer is yes, then don't post. This forum is not being paid for by
to provide practice for your burgeoning aspirations of being a comedian.
Dude, it's a game forum... it's a community of people who like to PLAY games... play = fun. Joke posts are funny!
I don't want to "be careful" what I post, as long as it's for fun and it's not offensive. One more reason to stick with Telltale (as if we didn't have enough reasons:p). They place the focus on fun and good manners, unlike other places where you can't share your opinion unless it's filtered and analyzed by the staff.
What do you guys think? I know that certain places have certain rules...but being serious on a GAME forum?! C'mooooon!

that makes it sound like wikipedia and its rude as well
They got me... I never say silly things for the sheer joy of it, or in the hope of making someone smile, or as a way to connect with other human beings. It's definitely all about my career aspirations.
...oh, you did not just say that!
But seriously, this forum community isn't the best, but it is quite pleasant.
Fine! I'm taking my ball and going home!
Blasphemy!
8I I didn't mean to freak out people.
Too late now. Now you're going to be persecuted forever. Starting now.

Plus, threads are locked if the mods claim there is no discussion value. Reagardless of the hilarity of said thread, or the fact that it may have been a decent post (open letters, that sort of thing). Plus half the forum is filled with fanboys/girls, and the other half is filled with anti-fanboys (the " i used to like nintendo, but the wii sucks, so i'll keep telling everyone that" kind).
Plus, everyone is friendlier here. And i love the multicultural background everyone has.
Fix'd.
Seriously, this is the only forum I am or have ever been active on. That's probably because it has cool random discussions in addition to the usual game-related stuff. It's diverse and interesting, and I likey.

Oh, wait a second...
yh these plenty of better outlets for that like becoming a teacher or the presenter of The Jeremy Kyle Show
Brilliant!
+1 wisdom points
I don't think we're in any danger of that. The only difference between us and the folks at Telltale is that we're video game nerds and they're video game nerds who get to make video games. They're as prone to off-topic and silly posts as we are, and I don't think that's likely to change.
Hey I admit it, I'm guilty.
Ha, I know what forum that is! It’s a shame really; I can understand wanting to curb spam, but not everything has to be super serial.
The only other forum I've seen with such a consistently great community was LD4all. All the others I attend are either extremely strict or horribly intimidating to newbies. The worst offender, in my opinion, is the SA forum. I understand that it's an enormous place that needs to pay for massive bandwidth, but paying for the privilege to post there seems a bit crazy. Especially considering how easy it is to get banned there.
In contrast, this forum feels more like a group of friends hanging out. I may not actually "know" any of you in the traditional sense, but I know that I'd get along with just about all of you IRL. I couldn't say that about any other forum I know of, even LD4All.
(I think this is about the seventh time I've posted about how much I love this place. I am such a sap.)
"No seriously, I really would like to see more pictures."
Sorry, just couldn't resist.
I still don't understand why you folk are making such a big deal out of that. They were for artistic reference. Ya'll can't be that desperate, right?
