Yeah, I know, I'd never make it in a King's Quest game.

Don't give up...if I can make through...a Kings Quest game so can you.

I'm lost. You already had the playthrough?! Gahhhhh! I thought it was 2am tonight. Please let us know when you're doing the next one and I'll be sure to make sure I have the right time and day.

Sorry. It was Sunday night when I posted about "tomorrow". I'm guessing it was Monday morning for you, hence the confusion.

Edit: I just realized that Monday is the 28th, so I won't be playing Indy 3 then on account of my mother's birthday. I'll shoot for Friday, otherwise I'll let you guys know.

Well, today didn't work out, and pretty much all my time for the next week is going to be dominated by landscaping, so I probably won't be able to get to Indy 3 until next Monday (the 4th) at the earliest. I'll keep you guys posted.

Please do man, I'm looking forward to it :)

I really would enjoy participating in watching you play the KQ series.
I know, I keep bringing it up.

Also, various other non-LEC games, (like Star Trek:A Final Unity.)

Maybe after Escape from Monkey Island.

I'm hoping to play Indy 3 on Monday afternoon (MDT), but I don't know if it'll work out. It sort of depends on the weather, when my dad gets off work, and what ends up happening with landscaping. There's a possibility that I'll start it in the afternoon, take a break, and finish in the late evening. I'll try to let you guys know when I have some idea.

Thanks to some bad weather, odds are good that I can play Indy 3 tomorrow (Monday). No guarantees, but I'm looking to do it around 8-9 pm GMT. There's a possibility I can start earlier if my sleep schedule doesn't immediately fall back into place now that I'm not getting woken up early.

If this does happen, I give fair warning, an afternoon stream is more likely to be frequently interrupted than my normal evening ones, but I imagine that's better than nothing for you guys across the pond. Puzzlebox and Davies, I hope that's early enough that you two can catch at least the start of it. If not, let me know what'll work better and I'll see if I can swing it.

That should be fine. Can you tell me what time and day it will be for me in the UK? Sorry but I'm useless with such things and don't want to risk missing another playthrough.

    Thanks

That would be Monday night (i.e. tonight) for us Davies... not sure if Guru means 8-9pm GMT (which would be 9-10pm BST), or just 8-9pm UK time.

Guru, we're on BST (British summer time, 1 hour ahead of GMT) since we switched to daylight savings. :)
  • edited April 2011
Yeah, I meant GMT. I was more going for the "world standard +/- 0" thing than "local time".

But anyway! It doesn't matter because I'm going to be just arriving at the doctor for my mom's appointment at that time, which I was just now reminded of! If that time works for you guys, I can either try another day this week (likely not tomorrow or Friday, and Wednesday and Thursday depend on the weather) or I can shoot for next Monday. I wish I could do the weekends, but those are sort of the point in the week where most of my time is spoken for.

Also, I don't think there should be a problem with doing it tonight (tonight for me, I mean), if you guys would prefer I try doing Loom in the afternoon later on and get Indy over with tonight.

Okay, landscaping has slowed down, and I really want to get back to this thing, so would you guys be up for a run of Indy 3 on Monday?

I'd love to play Indy 3 - about when on Monday? I've got something on but it probably won't be all night.
  • edited May 2011
I was thinking the same as what I wanted to try before, probably around 8-9 PM BST. To be honest, I'm not even entirely certain my own schedule is clear tomorrow, but I wanted to say something just in case it is. But I really want to get back to this thing, so I'm going to do my best to make it happen.
  • edited May 2011
Crap, something did come up. I do want to try to get back to it this week, but it'll likely be Wednesday or Thursday, around the time I said.
  • edited May 2011
Oh well, I look forward to this. Hopefully won't forget about it this time. Also I saw "8PM BST" and thought "bst? where the heck is that?"

... I feel like I've let my country down.

Bad news, everyone! Nobody told me today was going to be my dad's day off and that he wouldn't be working it, and he apparently managed to find some flagstone on Craigslist. If I'd known, not only would I have not planned this for today, but I would've gone to bed earlier last night and gotten more than three hours of sleep before the jerk dragged me out of bed.

Since the only three days that really work for me to have a chunk of time to do this are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and tomorrow's not looking so good, I'm going to have to put this off (again) until next week. Sorry, guys!

Oh, hey, look at this thread I haven't touched for almost a year!

...I forgot that it was that damn flagstone that got in the way last time. Shit's still sitting in piles in the back yard.

Anyway, for those of you who don't read the Whatever thread, I'm going to be attempting my run of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade on Thursday (that is to say, about 29+ hours from now). I'm not totally sure how that day is going to go, so I'm going to say that the play could start pretty much any time in the evening, mountain time zone. Watch this space.

Also, for this run, I'm considering running a Google+ hangout while I play. I'll post a link to it here if I do.

It's always more fun with an audience, so I hope to see a bunch of you there!

I've been meaning to catch someone's stream of game, I just need to work out if I either need to stay up all night or just get up early. Bah, time zones. Give me colour time any day.
  • edited April 2012
If it's good with you guys, I'm looking to start up Indiana Jones in about an hour.

    Coolio!

Sorting out some issues with the laptop. Nothing that I'm concerned about being able to fix, but I'll probably still be about another half hour.
  • edited April 2012
Oooh...Are we going to start this? I might join in.
  • edited April 2012
WHEN ARE YOU GONNA GET THlS RUNNlNG. GEEEEEEZ
  • edited April 2012
Laptop's ready to go, except for a restart. Anyone who wants in on the Google hangout can join in here. Let me know if that doesn't work. I'll be in as soon as my laptop finishes restarting.

As usual, the stream will be here. I'm not streaming yet, but I'm watching the chat on my channel, so feel free to come in and start talking. I'll be starting up the stream when everyone's ready.

    Starting now.
  • edited April 2012
Got about halfway through the castle before I had to stop for the night. I might try to resume this a little spontaneously, if I have the time and enough people interested, or I might try to shoot for finishing it up on Monday.
  • edited April 2012
It was fun watching it trying like hell to remember what do to. Paying for it now though with only about 4 hours of sleep (which was interrupted half way through by the estate agent wanting rent money). That's all my fault as I didn't prepare properly. I'd like to see the rest of the stream, whenever is best for all is fine.

That sounds like a scene from a Dickens novel. Do you pay your rent in cash?

Yeah because I can't be sure if I have enough money in my bank account when the rent is due and if I don't then I can incur an extra charge from the bank.

I decided to revisit this thread because I have an idea. Is anyone up for a "Great LucasArts race of 2013"? Just thought it would be a nice thing to do in anticipation for the release of The Cave, or the release of Double Fine Adventure, depending on when it should be done, if it should be done at all, just a thought :p
  • edited January 2013
At the moment, I'm not really up for running one of those things, and interest in the races has been fairly weak since after the second 2010 race.

Besides, there's no way in hell I could compete. I'm still only partway through my first play of Last Crusade and have a long way to go.
