That's probably because he knows you can find him if he goes back.

You don't know what looking for a fight is? How about what you are trying to do right now. You are trying to make me go off on you by talking shit, but I'm above that... I never waste my time on trolls... only assholes.

Also... you may want to look at that thread some time & see just how many times I responded before you make crude accusations kthxbai

Who the hell cares whether you say you didn't start fights. The fact is that past experience has shown you to be rather belligerent on a fairly regular basis. Your justification for behaving that way doesn't garner you any more respect on these forums. If you want to have friends, you need to be friendly.

    So give it a rest.

All I need to do is just be me... just like you just need to be you. Nobody can change who you are inside... be it a strong willed person who takes no shit, or a spineless loser who just sits back & lets people stomp all over them. One thing is for certain though.... instead telling people how THEY need to act under scrutiny, you should instead focus on how YOU handle the same situations & just back off.

Besides I never claimed to want friends on here.... I'm just looking to discuss some of the nerdier things that I can't talk about with my ACTUAL friends.

Now instead of turning this into another thread about Robby Martyr, how about we get back into what this thread was originally about & save this new guy the hassle of having to deal with this shit so soon after starting.

Changing your frame of mind is one thing. Changing your outward behavior toward others in a public setting in an effort to be friendly (or at the very least, civil) is something else. I don't think it's too much to ask you to lighten up.

I can stand up for what I believe in without telling people where to stick it when they don't agree. And I don't have to go out of my way to prove I'm bad ass just to get people to notice me.

Anyways, I use the term telltale folk from time to time. Most of the time referring to employees, but occasionally referring to the community at large.

    On topic:

if you're all gamers who love a game series involving pirates and imagine yourselves in that game series' universe, couldn't you then be "Software Pirates"?

    maybe also:
    TelltaleGamers
    Telltalers
    Pirates-We-Were-Meant-To-Be
    The Pyrite Parrots ("brauk!")
    The Chicken Pulleys
Moosferatu, the herd of Demonic Jersey Cows.
Stan's Unofficial Research & Future swindle Sales Opportunities Team (Surf Sot).

I say "telltalers" often. Usually refers to mostly non-employees but it's not rare that at least one employee is included in the lot.

We should definitely decide on a Telltale specific collective noun. Here are some suggestions (some blatantly stolen from above posts)

    Telltale Folk
    Telltalers
    Telltalians
    TelltaleGamers

This is banned due to it being the original suggested name for the Telltale newsletter ("The Telltalian"). The word Telltalian was rejected in favor of The Telltale Interloper and subsequently banished from the office.

Admittedly, that banishment was decreed in the old office so it may not hold at this point. Still, "Telltalian" rubs me the wrong way. We used to make the web server's text-to-speech engine say it because we thought it sounded funny.

When talking about the Telltale community to my other friends I usually refer to you all as 'Telltale Forumites'. I have no idea if that's a word, but I suppose that doesn't matter in this case.
  • edited August 2010
I use the word "forumite" all the time. I'd say it's become a word by now.

I claim credit for having started that, since I started the April Fools thread about them getting engaged. =)

I'd like to point out that Cootie Vs Argyle was a longstanding TF2 joke mainly based around me getting mad about being sniped.

    Engagement was it going "viral."
"Going viral" is consequently why our marriage didn't work out. HEYOOOOO.

...That might have been my best day at Telltale. My boss actually had to ask if it was real.

    ps- TATTLETALES.

The Highway should be banned for.... Oh, wrong thread. Anyways, people seem to be talking about muffins a lot today.

Dammit, now I want a muffin, and I just ate the last one two days ago.
