    News!

    1. Headcrab will be a slightly better Gish, and he's replacing in the Steam version...

2.Goo Ball. I was kind of right, but one will only be playable in the non-Steam versions. Has exact same powers as Gish, meaning that Steam users get a slightly better character.

Also, their Twitter said pre-orders start Wednesday, but their site now says the 23rd.

So... no Gish (don't care about) but no Gooball? :(

Yeah, but Steam users get a character with better jumping than the Gooball, so it evens out. I would prefer the Gooball too, if the Headcrab didn't have a small advantage.

    What does the Gooball get?
  • edited November 2010
Exact same powers as Gish, meaning he's sticky. the Headcrab has that, and better jumping.
  • edited November 2010
Better HORIZONTAL jumping, not vertical. And by better, they mean the jump goes farther, which is better for some things but not as good for others, but for the most part it should make him good for levels that require climbing walls and jumping from one wall to the next.

That we don't get Gish makes no sense to me. That's OUR game. It's ONLY on PC! I get them getting the Castle Crasher, Hominid, and Tim, but Gish? :(

Also, headcab instead of Goo Ball...is seriously making me rethink buying the Steam version. Heh. I'll still buy the Steam version if it uses Steam Cloud save management(since oh my god, this game is perfect for that), but afterwards I'll have my eye out for that possible special edition hard copy that they said was a possibility.

I was always under the assumption the game was called 'Super Meaty Boy'.

It sounds somewhat cuter. But the real reason is because I have played too much Street Fighter 2 recently and was practicing 'meaty' attacks.

1.Well, "better jumping" sounds better in a sales pitch.

2.Yeah, it's weird to not have Gish, but I was expecting a new McMillen character in each version, and we still have those last 2 outlines.

3.Steam Cloud would be awesome for this game. I could show it to lots more people.

Pink. I have no clue why.

Ill I can think of is that if you have this then you can get the pink in castle crashers, but that is a terrible idea.
K still on PC version, if the castle crasher was RED then I would have a problem.

Why would you have a problem with the color?

Choosing whether I would want to be a red castle crasher, or a headcrab:D
I always was a red castle crasher when i used to play that game, I loved using thunder in battle.

I loved using Thunder too, but in SMB, the Knight's power isn't very helpful.

Psst: You don't have every chracter from the start. You have to play as Meat Boy the first time through.

Yes, you don't have all characters from the start. No, you won't beat the whole game as Meat Boy before you get all characters. You will get your 1st character when you get to the Character Warp in the first world(Commander Video) or get 10 bandages(Gish/Headcrab/Gooball).

Hmm. Well, Gish did have weird jumping(he felt lighter), so I think it will be interesting to see even a slight change.

Reminder: The Sewers of Dross, the Gish-only 20 level chapter, is now out for Xbox and never shall be released on PC as Microsoft bribed Team Meat with bags of money.

Right. Why make a chapter centered around Gish? Was anyone demanding more Gish content?

Also, preorders on Steam start tomorrow! Huzzah!

Gish was a horrible mess of a game. But I loved the loading screens.

    Um.

    I was.

    ...

The game wasn't perfect by any stretch, but it had a lot of style and a good amount of innovative thinking in terms of its core mechanics. I was definitely looking forward to the sequel before it was cancelled, and I would have gladly paid for the Sewers of Dross chapter.

Also, Gish is really fun to play as in Super Meat Boy.

If you wait long enough, they'll directly release a disc edition for $20 that will have lots of behind-the-scenes video, the comics, and design goodies on it.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say the unknown character on far right is Naija from Aquaria.

I just preordered the Steam version today. Since Team Meat has been looking to do a retail version for the Wii, how likely do you think it'll include guest characters? Maybe the Goo Ball would be in that version since World of Goo is also on Wiiware.
  • edited November 2010
Goo ball has been confirmed for the Wii version.
  • edited November 2010
Goo Ball is on the Steam version too, but using a cheat that is currently unknown.

Also, like wefeelgroove said, Naijia is in the Steam version, aong with Runman.
