Introduce Yourself!

edited June 2013 in General Chat
Just about every forum I've seen has had an introduction thread, and with the new licenses bringing in so many new faces, I feel ours should be no exception. This thread is for new members to introduce themselves and say hello. If you guys like, it can also be for old members to introduce themselves to the new members.

And yes, I'm aware that we already had this thread two months ago, but after the way that one went, I felt a blank slate was in order.

Well! Guess I'll get the ball rolling!

Greetings! I'm GuruGuru214, though most call me Guru. I've been here for around a year and a half, and at the moment I believe I have the 5th highest post count among active posters (behind Avistew, Rather Dashing, Jake, and Irishmile). This means that I talk a lot but not necessarily that I have a lot to say. :D Needless to say, I could very well be the mod who spends the most time on here.

I also started the longest running thread on the forums back before my modship, which is something that fills me with both pride and shame, depending on what's going on in there at any given time.

I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember and own every Nintendo console there is.

th_DSC03361.jpg

See? I also own the full Telltale library, with the exception of Texas Hold'em. Once a year, you'll find me running the Great Monkey Island Race and the Great Sam & Max Race, a speed run competition through every game in each series and a whole lot of fun. Other times, you might find me on other crazy exploits, like running the entire Kingdom Hearts series in chronological order, or cataloging my game collection and then attempting to beat all the games I never finished.

I like to think I'm easy to get along with, as long as you're a reasonable person. Don't look for trouble and we should get along just fine.

Welcome to Telltale! Enjoy your stay and don't cross me! :D

    RetroVortex here!

Like many here, I am a real Video Game enthusiast!

Been playing videogames since I was 5, and 15 years later I haven't stopped playing yet!

As a gamer, I don't have any particular loyalty to any company or game. I like to approach games with an open mind, so don't be suprised if you hear me talking about something obscure!

The community here is really active, but also really nice.
Its a good balance. I used to hang out at The Escapist, but everyone there seems to want to out-talk the other, so some good conversations get lost.

I'm also a huge fan of Good Old Games, and I regularily post there.

Also, one day I kind of want to be making my own Video Games, but I tend to get too lazy or distracted, (trust me. I get very easily distracted. heck! I even managed to derail many conversations here with some abstract though of mine! XD), so I never get round to learning any code, or finishing any sprites, (I have loads of ideas though).

I also practice the Guitar. Take note of the word "practice", because I'm not very good at it. Been casually learning and playing for over a year now, and I can only barely play some simple videogame tabs!

Its not all about Video Games and Rock now. I do watch TV, surf the web in general, and I have watched a few animes and read a few mangas and comics in my lifetime, so don't go thinking I'm closed minded!

So yeah, thats pretty much all you need to know about me. Now little newblets! Share with us your origin stories!

    I'm georgec, apparently I'm a troll.
I'm 18, and I work as an engineering apprentice at rolls royce gas turbines.
I've always played games and play stuff from puzzle to fps.I've been skateboarding for about 3 and a half years and do a bit of skate photography and filming.

I play electric guitar and slide acoustic guitar, and I also design and build electronic circuits. Me and my dad share a hobby of motorsports and car mechanics. My favourite food is pizzas, I like trolling people on forums because I've always been a bit of a prankster IRL, I wouldn't call it being an asshole. I hate most mainstream music for the fact its the same old stuff as the next guy. Hmmmm, what else?

Hiya, name is Mickey (by the way, not a dude, just to clarify).

I'm about two decades year old and have been playing games for as long as I can remember, earliest memory being the SNES. Also an avid movie watcher and a connoisseur for food of any kinds (New Year Resolution was to try new things. Why haven't I thought of that sooner?!)

I tend to be a hyper case too, but that's not a bad thing. I think. I become dead serious with work, but outside I'm a very social person. Which ends up being on the forums. (Irony!)

Came across Telltale back with season one of Sam and Max when I was being nostalgic with old Lucasarts Games and discovered to company via someone doing a Lets Play of the game, but haven't fully join till ToMI where I decided to stop being a stalker and just join the community. Best move I've ever done.

Currently enrolled in college that is teaching Game Art and Design. Two years in already and enjoying it greatly. And I'm hoping to work for Telltale sometime in the near future.

That should cover more or less about me.

    I'm Secret Fawful.

I am the greatest man alive. See my signature for popular opinion on me.

I love movies, music, video games, books, art, writing, anime, and talking. My favorite activities are drawing, talking, making fools of others, making jokes continually, playing games, watching anime, reading, and watching movies. I joined the forum as a fan of Monkey Island, and my favorite Telltale game overall is either Sam and Max: Season One, Tales of Monkey Island, or Puzzle Agent. My favorite single episode of a Telltale game is either Chariots of the Dogs from Sam and Max: Season Two, or Lair of the Leviathan from Tales of Monkey Island. My least favorite Telltale game is Back to the Future.

I started playing adventure games at the age of fourteen, the first of which was Escape From Monkey Island. My favorite adventure game is LeChuck's Revenge, and it's also my favorite video game. My first console was an Atari, and my favorite console is the Nintendo 64.

This is a great forum full of very nice people, so behave yourself and you'll fit right in. Actually, I'm lying about that. You'll have a ton of success here if you're as big of a dick as possible. Make fun of the mods a lot, and show rampant sexism toward the female members, and you'll be sure to become popular quickly.

    Alcoremortis here.

I was once a mighty lurker. Now...slightly less mighty. I'm also sort of a newcomer to adventure games by comparison to a lot of the people here, having started with Escape from Monkey Island when I was thirteen. Since then, I've worked my way through pretty much all the Lucas Arts titles and am about ready to get started on Sierra. I'm a much more of a RTS and RPG fan and most of my games fall into one of these categories.

I also like to complain about my major, watch movies and TV shows of varying quality, read, write, sing, sail when I can, and listen to my weird medley iPod (everything from Mozart to Megadeth).

I often pop up randomly in the forums to throw in the odd bon mott.

I'm Remolay, a very dorky dork, troper, and self proclaimed second worst rapper in the world.
I've been a fan of Telltale since Tales of Monkey Island, then I managed to figure out how to get Abe Lincoln Must Die to work. It is currently my goal to get the entirety of season 2 of Sam and Max legally for free, as I already got all of them but Moai Better Blues via free episode codes and Christmas/halloween stuff.

I'm a writer, although not a very productive one, and a part of the TTGD&D group.

If you want to find me on anywhere but Kongregate I am Remolay.

Remolay was honestly just a bunch of random letters that looked like it could be a night elfs name when I started playing World of Warcraft. It stuck

Really though I like these boards because it provides me an outlet to talk about things I love with people that share many of the same interests...

I have three great kids who are so well behaved its ridiculous and a wonderful and amazingly beautiful wife named Zua.. If only I had a boatload of money I would say I was living the American Dream... I love doing art... sometimes I share it here...

    Hey I'm zounds!

Sorta new to the forums here, but I like to talk about adventure games and stuff so I thought I'd introduce myself a little.

I have been playing games for about 28 years now. I started when I was 4 and pretty much haven't stopped since. (except for a 2 year period in which I hippied out for a while ) My first system was my NES but I have a big family and between all my older cousins I had access to pretty much every single gaming system ever. I inherited my cuz's C64 a long time ago, when he "grew out of it" and have an enormous collection for it. I use an emulator these days though. I've always had a special love for PC games. Adventure gaming was very huge in my childhood. Again, I inherited like every single Sierra game and played them religiously. I also worked in a small PC store in high school and have been a techie since then.

Nowadays I spend a lot of my free time playing all sorts of games. I primarily use my PC but I have a 360 and some handhelds. I also enjoy gutting old computers and refurbishing various tech things. Not a pro really, just a dabbler I say.

Favorite game ever: changes all the time. Right now I'm so hyped up for Deus Ex 3 that my favorite would be Deus Ex. Next week it may be Jagged Alliance 2 and then Fallout 2 etc etc.

Hi! I'm puzzlebox (like it says over there on the left). I came to the forums for the mass excitement of Monkey Island and then never quite managed to leave.

I was born and raised in the wilds of remote Australia, but several years living in sunny old England have civilised me a little.

Like the other mods (grey usernames with the bunny ears), I'm happy to help out with any forum-related worries you might have. Welcome!

Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste. Also, borderline poverty and trashiness. Or somewhere in the middle. Anywho: I hail from the deep South and enjoy - in no particular order; Battlestar Galactica, firearms, HP Lovecraft, anime and OH YEAH! Video games!

I know RatherDashing IRL and antagonize him greatly and though I started life on this forum as a somewhat notable troll, I have become somewhat tolerated by the Telltale community. You might even say I can call some of them... Well... Acquaintances. Maybe.

I'm also the resident Telltale amputee. And socialist. Also, I will one day rule you all.

I'm TomPravetz, but my real name is Tom Pravetz. If that is too complicated for you, you can always call me "The Lord Almighty," "Heavenly Father Whose Mercy I Am Completely Dependant On," or just simply "God". Most people do. If you ever see a post that reads "Oh, God," or such, scroll up. There I am! Say hi! Depending on my mood, I'll either say something witty back, something useful, or something completely irrelevant.

While I am perfect, I have a few things labelled as "disorders." I'm ADHD, so I will not read long posts, schizoid, so I don't care what you have to say, and legally blind, so I cannot see what you post. Basically, I talk and ignore.

Also, despite the fact that most derailments can be traced back to me, I never rarely am directly the cause. Mostly I post something so unbelievably interesting that everyone else feels the need to respond to it directly. I am not a troll. Making that clear now. If you are a troll, then I must ask you to leave. Our resident troll spot has been taken up by Fawful, and it seems Pants has wedged himself in any left over space. So sorry. See you on some other forum. Or not. Since this is the only one I use. Too bad for you. Asshole.

So what do you need to know about me? I am imperfectly perfect, a god, witty, and down-right attractive. According to Christian legend, it took "God" 7 days to create the earth and universe. It took him 9 months to make me. My poor mother had to carry me-in-construction around while Jehovah did his work. I must really give him credit then. He certainly did a top-notch job.

I cannot really tell you to much about myself, as a general never reveals his target before hand. The only information I can tell you that is left is that I do enjoy the occasional genocide, war, or other "evil, tyrannous, acts." So welcome to Telltale. Welcome to my forum. Welcome to Hell. Please enjoy your stay.

(Also, Guru. Welcome to my kill list. Credit is due where... well... umm... credit is due. I will get my name on a stickied thread, and it will thrust me into modhood, much like... well.... stuff that gets thrusted into things? Watch your back, boy.)

    EDIT:
WAIT! Guru is a mod?! You're already dead, man. You just don't know it.

I am VeronicanPlay, real name must then be Veronica and I can play computer games. :p

I guess I could categorize my self as a forum lurker, as I post here and there just to get some opinions out (Get my post count up) and feel I am part of something.
I am also a great admirer of "Forum Guru's" as I like to call them, basically people who can do what I can't so I think they are really cool.

I joined this forum when Tales of Monkey Island came out and I just needed to talk to someone about it as no one around me likes Monkey Island as much as I do.
And Tales was my first Adventure game ever, and ever since I have been hooked.
I am now a Monkey Island fan and I love playing adventure games.

When I am not at work I spent the rest of my day in front of a computer, where I play all sorts of games, my favorites are MMORPG, RPG, Hack n’ Slash, First Person Shooter and Adventure games.

In general I am a shy person and have some trouble relaxing around people, even here on the forum I am scared to post most of the time, so mostly it’s closing my eyes and hitting the submit button. (But I am getting better at it).
But when I get past that I am really a nice person who loves to talk, and have a good time like everyone else.

    Hello, my name is Friar.
More on that story later. But for now, we have Giant Tope with the weather...
  • edited March 2011
Hello, you can call me Nemo, aka Giant Tope. I've been here since about when Lair of the Leviathan was released. I enjoy spending my time conversing with friends, playing games, volunteering, and generally trying to understand the world better. Hobbies generally include cooking, drawing, crafting, and sewing, though I'm trying to expand my hobbies in time.

Things to generally know about me is that I'm really faulty when it comes to spelling as well as word placement. I also have issues with accidentally reading words out of order because they look like they're all squished together sometimes, so I may reply to something that won't make sense. I'm trying to get better at this, but please understand I do have difficulties occasionally.

I also notice that sometimes people read my comments as harsh or angry. I'm rarely genuinely angry, and nine times out of ten when I am, I'm mad at myself and not you. When I ask "What are you talking about?", unless otherwise specified, I genuinely don't know what you're talking about and I'm asking for further clarification. I don't want to sound mean or anything, so I'm trying to get better at that also.

I'm generally just a soft spoken shy kid, but if we have same interests, I'll talk a lot. I enjoy having people to talk to, so don't be afraid to do so. I don't think there's a single person on this forum whom I genuinely loathe, and even if there is, I'm quick to mental forgiveness.

I think that's generally it for anyone actually caring enough to read this.

Greeting all, I am Splash but you may call me Lord of Moss or Lawd of Mossy Stuff. The reason there is a big one in my name is because there is only 1 of me. I have been on the forums since 2007 but I have been on Telltale since they first released Bone.

My days include of me being bored and completely doing nothing but being alive.
I am a large PS3 addict and I go on and play it every day. My favorite games are on here, and some on the PS3. If you are wondering, most of my days consist of nothing but PS3 addictive playing. I frown on Xbox usage too.

For some reason I have annoyed many members on the forum, they say that I'm sarcastic and annoying. This however is only half true as I pride myself on being sarcastic in a good and positive way. I am also described as crazy. I don't deny it.

I am a very good person but would not mind seeing fire and large explosions. I don't mind being pestered by PMs. And sometimes for your further information, I don't think when I post or read what I post; so don't take offense or die in confusion if you read my stuff.
If you read this, it is all true. That is all.

Hi all, my name is Avistew, or Avi. Real name Alice (that's Ah-LEES). I'm French, just turned 26, currently in California but I've lived in Canada too for a total of three years.
I'm vegetarian, polyamorous and don't want biological children, which mean I'll either adopt or have no kids. Oh, and I don't shave. I think that's all for the weird stuff.
I like cats and I live with three of them currently, as well as two dogs (and my boyfriend and his mother) but only one of the three is really "mine", the other two are my boyfriend's.
I like knitting, writing and translating.

I used to post a lot on these forums (I even had a higher post count than Rather Dashing at some point. I wouldn't have noticed, but he did and told me so. Now I've been told his is higher again, by like a thousand posts), but I haven't been as much of a fan lately. I'm sticking around because I like this community, but pretty much staying in the General chat section only, and I don't spend as much time as I used to on the forums anymore.

What else... I have hypothyroidism, asthma and a bunch of allergies that I'm too lazy to list right now.

I look like this without my glasses: Amnpjs.jpg. Can't find a picture with my glasses right now, but there is a bunch in the "what do you look like" thread.

And I think that's it! Feel free to send me a PM if you want to ask me something or if you just want to chat.

Hey. Although I just recently joined, I've been a Telltale fan ever since I played Abe Lincoln Must Die for free on Steam somewhere in between the time Season 2 of Sam and Max was finished and Telltale was working on Strong Bad. Ever since, I've bought all three seasons of Sam and Max and the full season of Monkey Island, alongside Puzzle Agent, Poker Night, and a few episodes of Strong Bad and Wallace and Gromit.

I've said this before, but I love watching Telltale evolve from working with smaller licenses such as Bone, Telltale Texas Hold'em, etc, to larger licenses such as Wallace and Gromit and Back to the Future.

In addition to the various seasons of games by Telltale, I also like to play Garry's Mod, Team Fortress 2, Monday Night Combat, Super Meat Boy, and the classic Sonic games among other things.
