You pretty much made it semi-racist by saying "not trying to be racist" cause you brought race into it when race wouldn't of been an implied factor at all otherwise.

Without that just saying not many people would want to go to Japan at the moment makes perfect sense to anyone who's seen the news and therefore knows about tsunami aftermath and radiation leaks etc and that most countries tourist boards are advising agaisnt visiting. Wouldn't even think of race as a reason.

I still don't see why people rag on Telltale for this. They said April. It's still April. They didn't screw anybody. It's not like they promised April 1st or anything.

Look at it this way. If Telltale released the entire game in one shot, we wouldn't see it until May at the earliest, so these arguments, at least in my eyes, are moot. If the entire game was released at once, nobody would've even had the chance to play episode 1 yet. So instead of waiting to play Episode 4 in April, you'd rather wait to play episode 1 in May. Sorry, I just don't see the logic there :)

Then read my post again if you don't understand the logic. I don't like morsel. I prefer if the full game comes out in May or maybe it would be in April because they have more time for the complete game and only one release and not 5. In one go everything goes faster.
And no I don't want to play episode 1 in May, I want to play the full game on May..
I hate it that this month tear me out of the story.. I don't even know what happened in Episode 1.. I know *the big picture* but I forgot details..
I play many adventures and some of them are really good like a movie and I will remember them..
But the Telltale Games are really fragmented in my head. Tell me who likes that? Every movie with a open end is very frustrating and you must wait for the sequel..
I want a good start and a good ending and at best in one piece.. (thats why I play some adventures in one day.. and then I go lucky to bed at 4am :) )

So thats my opinion.. I don't think that telltale will read this, but I don't will pay for unfinished games again. 5/5 episodes = pay.. not sooner

That's a fair enough opinion. And if you don't like the episodic releases, you can just buy at the end of the season when all the episodes are out. :)

Personally I rather like the episodic format and the community cameraderie/speculation it creates. The forums are much more lively and interesting as a result. Still enjoy regular one-chunk adventures too though!

Agreed Emo, playing episode to episode is fun, can be annoying when you are awaiting a release but you also feel part of something thats evolving and you get to be a part of the community who is just as interested in whats going on as yourself. Again while waiting for release can be painful I enjoy seeing the life and engagement from the community!

I fail to see any evidence here:
    1) Both episodes are shown in same font.
    2) Yes Jp shoes serial number, but none of the BTTF have had a serial number so far, so why shuld 4?
    3) Neither have icons

If anything I'd say bttf seems likely as the first as:
    1) It has the language select box and JP doesn't
    2) JP hasn't even split into episodes yet.

i believe only the first episode of each game requires a serial number, my line of thought was that the last 2 days, something changed for JP (the font yesterday and the serial number today) while nothing has changed for BTTF since the language bar went up a week and a half ago).

  • edited April 2011
I DO kinda think releasing it LITERALLY the last day, the last second BEFORE May.....is kinda cheap. Last month they just should've said "coming the first week of may!" and instead of people complaining "AWW its not out until the 30th of April!" you'd have people praising "HOLY COW ITS COMING OUT IN THE BEGINNING OF A MONTH!"

id have had THIS episode release May 1st. and the final episode release May 31st, and boast 2 episodes in one month for the finale. its all psychology.

Sorry if this has been brought up already (this thread is huge! I'm not looking through it all), but is there any chance PSN's indefinite downtime will affect BttF?

I know they've already announced the PS3 version of Episode 3 for a May 3rd release (and I wager the downtime is the reason why it's not coming out in April), but it's quite possible PSN will still be down then.

    Don't lose faith in Telltale.

We never doubted Doc for a moment even after the DeLorean was struck by lightning in Part II. Let's give Telltale the same positive spirit that we gave Doc.

    Hope is not yet lost.

I remember during the Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People days everybody was panicking because it was the middle of October and still no sign of Baddest of the Bands. "The month's almost up! It's never coming out! It's Duke Nukem Forever all over again!" Then it came out at the very end of the month.

I don't think Telltale's ever failed to deliver on a release month yet. I agree it sucks spending a month in anxiety, though, especially since end-of-the-month releases have gotten quite common.

But this has always been Telltales method. Releasing episodes monthly creates speculation (because of the cliffhanger) and we have something to talk about for the next month.
I would prefer this over playing all 5 episodes together and completing it all in a day. I guess we share different views.

I don't have any serial numbers for JP. All it says is 5 full episodes and nothing more, no pictures.....nothing.

I have to be honest.....i did lose faith. and rather easily. when the delorean was struck by lightening, i literally just thought he was dead, and i walked out of the theatre. it was like 20 years later when i found out there was more to the movie, and part 3.

sad thing is, i never questioned it..infact i was chewing on a brand new box of candy as i walked out of the theatre...kinda ok with how i thought the series ended. Doc is killed by the lightening. Marty grows up in the 50's,...goes mad around the 70's, visits his mom as his old high school sweetheart..they have a fling, that produces his sister.....and that explains why she had that slow "copy of a copy" mentality about her.

but...no no...to be honest, the movies did a much better job telling the story...im glad i got internet...one of the first things i did when i got internet in 2001 was go to webcrawler and search for "worst movie ending back to the future II" and i found this link to back to the future 3..and im like what the heck.....and then it all became evident through a course of watching 30 second real time videos.......626 to be exact but i saw the whole movie and it was just gangbusters. i recently purchased the VHS and look forward to watching it. I even painted by toploader VHS machine blue, and named it Ray. Special features? How about.....the ability to fast forward and rewind and not be tempted to skip around! OH YES.......i'm a happy, happy kitten.

...................YOU SEE WHAT WAITING FOR THIS RELEASE IS DOING TO US?! I SPENT 15 HOURS TANGLING YARN BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS A CAT! *CRIES* WHY DID I TAKE MY PANTS OFF AT WALMART?!?!?!?!?! OHHHH....THE AGONY!

Till what time do the guys work? So I can check later whether BTTF is out?

To make matters worse I am sick at home, and the only thing that would make me better is BTTF (apart from medicine of course!)

Oh and what time is it there? Reason is that I am in Europe and here the time is 21:42.
    Anybody heard something about Hector?

It wasn't delayed due to PSN. PSN was up at the time the date was set. I do think it could push it back longer though if they don't get PSN up today and get it's update up. Should they not I see this weeks update being released next week hence pushing the schedule back a week with BTTF Episode 3 coming May 10th instead of the 3rd. God forbid they don't get it back up for multiple weeks. That would be catastrophic.

Jurassic Park is about a scientist who (innocently for the purpose of creating a family fun theme park) uses DNA found in a fossilized mosquito from the dinosaur to recreate the species. He invites several scientists, archeologists, and his grand kids, to be the first to experience the park. Things go....ary. Someone on his staff has an secret motive. Also, a major storm isn't helping the situation....

the movie isn't "SCARY".....but its VERY suspenseful, and quite enjoyable. Kids can watch it because its not particularly gory...(it was acceptable for kids to watch in 1993, so 2011 is perfectly fine) The effects, EVEN today are awesome, and when you stop and think how in 1993 they had the technology, pre-cgi as we know it to create those kind of realistic dinosaurs....it really is quite amazing.

Don't go on Part 3.....it was a bad example of the franchise. Part 1 was excellent and a true gem in modern cinema, a great family movie where adults love it for the action, suspense, and a few over the kids heads jokes...while the kids like it for the suspense, jumping out of their chairs, and the overall experience of seeing dinosaurs.

Part 2, in my opinion, was good, in its own right....as good as a sequel to the (then considered) greatest movie of all time could be. I think it also holds up very well.

    hope this helped.

i saw the first jurassic park in theatres as a ten year old. I was scared in quite a few scenes. It has dinosaurs chasing and attacking people so i guess there are some jaws elements in the sense that a giant animal is attacking people but not nearly as scary and a low death count.

I'd compare the fear level to the terminator movies; it's officially considered sci-fi but does involve humans getting attackd and has some scenes that you'd wet your pants if you were actually in.

I didn't find it scary in the slightest. It's just a fun movie with some adventure thrown in. It essentially revolves around the question 'What would happen if dinosaurs lived during our time period?' Basically, a man replicates dinosaur DNA and begins breeding dinosaurs to turn into a theme park. It's one of my favorite movies and I highly recommend it.

If you see the first two movies, you'll see why Jurassic Park 3 isn't a favorite among fans. It's certainly not awful but it doesn't have the charm that the previous movies had. In terms of age, anyone ten and up would be fine.

I never saw Terminator and only saw like the end of Jaws, but the part I saw was a bit graphic and I want to know if its graphic. When the JP game does come out please tell me how it is. Telltale does not seem like the kind of company that would make things too scary. I do not have a weak stomach but I do not like scary as much as other movies. I might see JP but I first want to know how scary it is. Thanks for all of the information!
