They closed it down for a reason. It just wasn't a popular attraction anymore. It was dated, with only a tiny TV to watch, really, and many people complained about it after they got off. So they closed it down to make a ride that more people found appealing. It sucks that they didn't make a new BttF ride, but most fans I know accept that it was a terrible ride (nostalgia aside).
Yes And it saddens me very much that they closed down the ride in Florida for no reason at all...they used to have the real Train prop plus some other props ( hoverboards, et cetera ) there and they removed all of them and replaced it with The Simpsons ride...totally unforgiving ....
Also, on the subject of the date they are releasing things...I think it's really kind of ridiculous that there are only 5 days left in the month and not one out of 3 games are released by now...by them forcing all releases to the last minute means for certain at least one, if not two out of three of these games will be full of bugs/short/not have had enough time put into it....probably a big mistake to make all 3 in the same month..
I found out they closed this in Universal Hollywood as well...it no longer exists anywhere...nice job ....real nice...Marty Mcfly quote time...."Noooooooo!!!! Bastardsss!!!
It lost popularity. They went on to other attractions that they thought were better.
I actually am a HUGE fan of theme parks, disney, universal, so much so, in fact I've been on many shows/rides as many times as I've actually seen Back to the future, which is a LOT, believe me....I can replay the ride in my head / pre-show and believe me it was a good ride...little things even stand out to me that most of you won't even know about...for instance when the ride was over if you take your time of getting out of the delorean at the end doc reappears and says "Hurry up, hurry up get out before you meet yourself coming in!" ....many classic lines from this and actually FEELING like you were part of the back to the future world - those who actually remember all these things and are following this thread will mostly agree with me...you truly can't consider yourself a back to the future fan at all if you don't still want it to be around..

The reason they closed it down was that it was an outdated simulator based on a 25 year old movie. Compare the cultural relevance between Back to the future and The Simpsons in today's age and you'll see another reason it closed down.
The time train (Recently refurbished) and the Delorean are still there, both screen used props (The Delorean that's sat at Universal Orlando is the one that was used in Part 3 as the car that ran on the train track, and was converted to a Part 2 car simply because it's much more recognizable.
The Hoverboards in each pre-show room were all made for the ride, each being the same in every room. And there is still an existing Back to the future ride at Universal Japan.
The new Simpsons ride is essentially the same ride as Back to the Future except with a new movie (obviously) and differently modeled simulators (Fairground carriages instead of DeLoreans).
I remember that ride I rode on it like 6 times in order to get in the front seats with..... A "friend" of mine. Of course I rode the one at California rather than in florida >.>
They should have made a roller coaster with props on the ground and between the seats that resemble the 3/4 time periods of the movie.
They could have made it indoors with tunnels (and lights) to make it seem like you are doing a time jump and traveling through time.
the BttF ride was ok, but I was originally expecting a proper roller-coaster, not just a simulation. I thought the T-rex was just gonna be a giant model or something.
I hope the game will be released tomorow.
they usually upload the games onto the servers at around 9am and 10am my time (it is 4:35 for me now).
OK... these page should really go down NOW!!! at least one game should be UP today! SPAM all over the place everybody!
Yes cause by spamming and thus diverting staff from polishing off the last few tweaks to game in order to deal with said spamming will OBVIOUSLY speed things up.

Ok... I meant, if they don´t release WE will spam all over the place.
113 pages long omg, nice to know i'm not alone in wanting my next injection of bttf.
come on telltale, guess us a sign or something. I much prefered the your monkey approach of giving us a realease date for each episode. This is torture, having to check the site daily..
It would seem logical that it would be today because most release dates such a DVD, Blu-ray, music release dates come on a Tuesday. And with it being the last Tuesday in April and they said April 2011 as a release date. With that being said I think we all can agree that logic does not dictate this because it’s still not available.
Thanks for the date they replaced it! (When I was writing that sentence I thought of a sentence in ep 1 of BTTF "I need a date!" "Don't look at me! I'm to old for you!" lol!)
It was still there in 2007, when I visited the Studios. I think that was the last summer of the attraction.
Yeah, they replaced it in 2008, around the time The Simpsons Movie came out. But they had Christopher Lloyd do a brief bit in the pre show lobby as a simpson-fied Doc Brown... It was a bummer as a BTTF fan, but at least it had a good successor in the Simpsons.
not trying to be racist but not many people would want to go there at the moment
You pretty much made it semi-racist by saying "not trying to be racist" cause you brought race into it when race wouldn't of been an implied factor at all otherwise.
Without that just saying not many people would want to go to Japan at the moment makes perfect sense to anyone who's seen the news and therefore knows about tsunami aftermath and radiation leaks etc and that most countries tourist boards are advising agaisnt visiting. Wouldn't even think of race as a reason.

Let's drop the whole racist issue. This is a Back to the Future board so let's discuss Back to the Future.

They failed, miserably.

Now release the game already.

I don't think so.
Not too much... JP already has 78. And it hasn't been released yet.
Come on Telltale, we desperately need our monthly flux-shots.:D
circa 2001

They had it in universal Florida and california. I went to both and they got rid of them at different times.

Not necessarily.
Friday is the 29th.
Saturday is the 30th.
Telltale doesn't do weekend releases, but that still means it can be any time up to the end of Friday.
