^ Bahahaha! I may not be Commander Shepard, but this is easily my favorite post on the Citadel.

It doesn't help that you sound almost exactly like my friend (except British instead of Aussie), but I never thought I'd find a grown-ass man impersonating a chicken and awkwardly rapping to be so damn funny. Bravo!

I thank you kindly, I'm certainly not afraid of making a complete arse of myself. In fact, all good comedy hinges on doing so. :)

    'Twas a pleasure M'Lady. :)

By the way, where's your operatic song?

Working on it. I need to practice up a bit first. And then find a time when nobody else is home so that I can record in piece and not have my parents calling me when I'm in the middle.

Actually, I might skimp a bit on the "opera" portion and just do an art song instead. Those are shorter and I've got a few memorized already. They also sound better without a full piece orchestra in the background. :D

Well, whatever takes your fancy M'Lady. I'm just looking forward to hearing something.

Also, come on other peeps... post some more songs as well!

Okay, everyone except RetroVortex get out immediately (or at least pretend to).

Internet I am not afraid of.
Since I am likely never to meet you, even then you will be like-minded.

    But the real people here....
    ....I fear them...
(More likely I fear ridicule! :O)

Same for me, haha. I really want to do that Thank God I'm Pretty cover, but not with people here.

    I've got a solution...

1/ Get ahold of some chloroform.
2/ Apply chloroform to the faces of those who would ridicule you.
3/ Sing to your heart's content (be sure to record the results though).
4/ Upload your masterful tracks to this thread.
    5/ Simples.

I think I'd do well with some helium, too. This song would be so much easier if I were a soprano... :p

An online duet? Hmm...it's crazy...but it just might work!
  • edited July 2011
I've actually done online duets a few times. Pretty fun, even though I was outshone every time. :p I kept getting matched up with professional-ass singers (and one British Eminem).

I think we could pull it off, it'd be funny as hell for sure. :D

The only problem that I can foresee is that I don't know the song. But that is a problem that is easily remedied, I think.

Yeah, no need to do it right away. Here's the song for ya. I've made up an instrumental version as well (some traces of vocals left, but with people singing over it, it shouldn't be noticeable).

It's actually a rather brilliant song, but I've always wanted to accuse people of grabbing my ass. :D

I quite like that song and I'd be happy to participate in a cover duet or something. It looks like it could be pretty fun.

Alright! I'll get to learning how the song goes, then!

Cool beans. I'll see if I can keep tweaking that instrumental, or maybe find some rare official instrumental. Sadly, Emilie Autumn isn't famous enough to have karaoke versions of her songs, but maybe some of her more talented fans made something.

Taking the little time I have alone today to practice TGIP... oh man, ouch, haha. I need to stop trying to hit those falsettos. Can't seem to get my Hetfield voice going with this song either, so I'm more or less croaking the lyrics for now.

Doesn't help that I know EA's voice so well that I subconsciously try to match her version, which is, of course, impossible.

I did a practice run then the real take, of course being who I am I forgot to hit record. So I had to do a third take which came out as planned!

Decided to do a test run of Thank God I'm Pretty. (NSFW)

Not my final version by a long shot, but I was bored. Sorry about the .wav format... Audacity was being a dick. Stick around to the end for some phun with phalsettos!
  • edited July 2011
This is probably my most ghetto offering so far. Couldn't find a karaoke track so did a Nero edit which sounds echoey, I think at one point you can hear a internet ad in the background, and this isn't my normal type of song I don't think. But this is the awful karaoke thread for a reason right?

By far the most frightening rendition I've heard of this song XD

Love this song. :D Brilliant way to get around the lack of a karaoke track, too.

And cheers: Frightening is what I'm aiming for, haha.

Done in 1 take. Felt it sounded good enough though I'd try to get into it more at the beginning if I did it over.

It was sounding good until I realised that you were singing the edited radio version.

Not sure, just pulled the karaoke track off of Youtube. Although I used vulgarity twice in that song so it can't be completely edited.
