I've got 60GB odd of space. Also, I'm using Firefox. Just going to try it with Chrome.
  • edited February 2012
Around 250GBs free HD space (now that I've cleared my Daikatana videos) and I'm using Firefox as well.

Guys, in the worst case scenario, we'll jump on yahoo messenger and I'll send it to you directly. Sorry for all the fuss.

It's been no real problem for me at least, like I said I got the version from the US server as well which played fine so I've seen it all and loved it. I'm just trying to help out here, to see if we can work out what is going wrong.

    Big edit:

Just finished re-downloading the European server version through Firefox and the file size is 1 GB (to be precise the size is 1,057,852 KB). The US server version is 1.2 GB (or 1,216,520 KB).

    screen shot of download window

When playing it through VLC it says that it's length is 33:53 but playback stops at 28:32.

One reason could be something to do with the server and downloading files bigger than 1 GB because one thing it does is that it doesn't show the size of the file as you download it, that is unknown as it how long it will takes so to me it looks like it's trying to download the whole file but has to stop once it hits 1 GB for whatever reason.

I've just finished downloading it through Chrome and the file is roughly the same size (it's about 800 KB bigger, the Chrome one). The end result is the same (it may actually play for a fraction of a second longer, well 800 KB worth of a second anyway) as makes no difference.

Okay... I'll try to break it in archives and upload it on another site... Then I'll post the links here. Dunno how long it will take. Brb
  • edited February 2012
Okay, uploading it in 14 rar archives. I'll edit this post as I upload them one by one.

(click on the "apasati aici pentru a porni download-ul" button)

    drwho part01 rar
    drwho part02 rar
    drwho part03 rar
    drwho part04 rar
    drwho part05 rar
    drwho part06 rar
    drwho part07 rar
    drwho part08 rar
    drwho part09 rar
    drwho part10 rar
    drwho part11 rar
    drwho part12 rar
    drwho part13 rar
    drwho part14 rar

Okay, once you've downloaded them all... just double click the first one, and drag and drop the file to your desired location. It should automatically extract it from all the archives, one by one.
If you don't have winrar, use this: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm (it has it both for Windows AND Mac, I made sure of it)

Err... what exactly is in that ending and do we really want to see it? :D
This is impossible, I've checked everything!!

Wellll... you could have gotten the hint when the video stopped at that very same part even in the cute fan response video you've posted in your blog. But I suppose all's well now. ;) ;)
  • edited February 2012
    I did notice that... yeah...
Please tell me if you've managed to download it and make it work!

As for the word... ahem... "a porni" = "to start" in romanian.
    Don't ask... we've got worse words... >.>

Those rar files work, but it was a little annoying downloading each file individually. But the main thing is that it does indeed work fine.

    Wait -
what happened to the guy with the gun?
  • edited February 2012
Wait till you see what happens when I click the download link!

Note: The US download link works perfectly.

    Right Click - Save As.

    Numpty.
  • edited February 2012
Yay! I'm not the only one who uses the word 'numpty'!

Also, Save as isn't an option for me. I can "Save link as", but that is it. Meh, I'm downloading the US version anyway, at a reasonable 500KB/sec.
  • edited February 2012
Oops. "Save Link as" is what I meant. And I'm glad I was able to soothe your worries about using old-school insults.
  • edited February 2012
I do have a suggestion though for those having difficulties. Try downloading an add-on such as UnPlug (it has a green fish icon on firefox), to download the video directly from the page. See if that works.
  • edited February 2012
I use VideoDownloader, and it wouldn't let me grab the video, sadly. Still, we've got a couple of direct links now, so it's not that big of an issue. You just need to avoid the European stuff.

Shouldn't be hard, you Yanks do it all the time. Oh, do you see what I did there!
  • edited February 2012
So the rar files worked! Awesome!

What do you mean "what happened to the guy with the gun?" He implodexintegrated!
  • edited February 2012

Maybe putting the rar files in a rar file would ease the download. Cue inception music.

This is precisely why I hate web development. Too much goes wrong with seemingly no cause.
  • edited February 2012
If I put them all in a rar file, we get the same problem... one big file (over 1 Gb) to download. I tried that already, I can't make it smaller :/
  • edited February 2012
Hmm, I don't really know what to suggest other than to upload it elsewhere. But if the multiple RAR thing works for people, and they are fine with it, then that's ok!
    Have you tried sonic-ing it?
  • edited February 2012
Yes, Friar. I did try sonic-ing it.
Note to World: Never sonic rar archives. Ever!

    ...you don't wanna know... >.>

I always worry when I see "girlfriend" in the cast description. Tell Mihai that no matter what happens, don't break up with her before filming concludes!

Oh, DUH. Of course Mihai has already told her that his art always comes first. :D

Congrats Mihai, and Mihaela sure is an excellent fit for River Song. Looking forward to more Doctor stuff from you!!

...even if Sea for Two will now forever rot at the bottom of the ocean.

Watched it and loved it, and I am not even a Dr. Who fan.

I have seen 1 or two episodes of the season with David Tennant, and you really do resemble him a lot. :)

Anyway, keep up the good work. And I hope to see more from you, you have talent.

I think they shouldn't have to worry about that, haha!

GASP and you have the decency to say that you visit my site??

Also check the bar on the right. Why do I put these things up if you people don't read them?

Good news about doing another episode (ETA 2013 I take it, with all the other stuff you have going on, and with it being the anniversary year).I'm looking forward to seeing what you have to offer with your other series' too!

Gee, it must be really hard for you if you have to over do your self all the time. Everything you do is brilliant. :)

I just watched this and it was quite fantastic. I found myself chuckling quite a lot. Bravo!

I look forward to this next one.

I gave up estimating launch dates. It's pointless, since anything unpredictable can happen.
For example, during my work on the first DW Fan Film, in December, I was getting ready for a full week of teeth-grinding work... when my grandfather suffered a heart attack.
Fortunately, he's still alive... but you do realize that one cannot focus on work when his loved ones are in mortal danger. Especially when nobody could actually DO anything about it. That was one of the big reasons for which I delayed the film. I decided not to share that back then since it was a personal matter.

Just so you know, when I do postpone stuff, it's not out of laziness :p

As for the Plustard Series... it's quite different tackling this particular type of comedy. It could be 100% brilliant or 100% stupid and not funny. There usually are no gray areas regarding this type of project... or, at least, what we have in our heads right now.

I'm looking forward to it just as much as you do. :D

So far, we are focusing on Plustard... We need a break from all that seriousness-ness-ness. :p

Yikes! And yet you still managed to pull it all off with that hanging over you. My respectometer has just gone up a notch. Was that around the time you shared that you almost died a while back? Glad to hear that he's still with us anyway. Sudden events like that remind us how fragile life really is, and how mortal struggles can grip us at any moment. Two relatives of mine, who both lead healthy lives have recently been diagnosed with cancer. One is too old for chemo (and has had heart issues lately so that doesn't help), and the other has an incurable form and a possible unrelated secondary tumour. And that affected my work too. I haven't touched my novel in months. I should probably go back to writing that sometime.

But yeah, if you ever want to share something, the community here supports you.

As a side note, is plustard an existing series of yours? I vaguely remember it from back when you were also doing a news video thing, but my memory is disappointing me.
  • edited February 2012
I'm sorry to hear that. If you need anything, let me know.

To answer your question, I'm not sure at what period you are refering to. My grandfather had the heart attack after my "top ten stupid things I did in my life" post. It was on Christmas Eve.

Regarding my own danger, I am still diagnosed with that silly blood genetic disease and I'll be on pills for the rest of my life. Kind of like Doctor House ^^ except, if I stop taking pills, I die. Simple as that. There is no cure.

If I stop posting one day... Well, I just hope they have french fries and grilled cheese on the other side. :p Either way, right now I am safe, as long as I don't make effort or carry heavy stuff. Oh and no stress... but I can't avoid that, hehe.

U IZ writting novel?!? Me wanna read!! : D

As for Plustard, I experimented with the character a while back. Then Mihai had this awesome idea of ditching his partner and find someone else to fill in the blank. We remembered a character that we invented a looooooong time ago, so we did a little voodoo magic and brought him back to life. We also rewrote Plustard's character and we hope this duo will be perfect for the story we wrote.

I'll be honest, as always... I'm nervous. Humor varies...a lot... So it's quite possible for you guys to like the new series... Or not. This project is bigger that the Doctor Who Fan Film, production/crew wise, so it will also be the first project that we're trying to sell for a symbollic sum, to cover up our expenses. :)

Oh and I posted the songs some of you asked for on my site ^^ Including the main theme and other goodies. :)

Yeah, how do you guys usually cover expenses? I mean, did you have to pay for the school you shot at? Do you guys have normal jobs too?

As for Plustard, i'm sure it'll be funny. If nothing else we can laugh at your accents. (I jest, of course.). I think if it doesn't feel forced and the plot is decent it can still be pretty good even if it isn't funny. Which is why the simpsons is still going strong even though most people say it isn't funny any more.

And yes, I am indeed writing a book. It's sort of x-files-y I guess (never actually seen that show), in that it's about a guy investigating the unknown. But no aliens. All Earth based and loosely scientific.

Mihai is 16, he's too young to get a job here :) As for me, I'm still looking for one. Unfortunately my last job ended abruptly when the financial crisis stroke three years ago. I keep asking left and right but nobody seems to be looking for an editor or moviemaker. Especially since I don't have a diploma to prove that I AM a moviemaker. That's how it works in my country: no diploma = you're useless.

I do have a diploma in psychology but I only went through that Uni because the Film-Making Uni sucks over here and I am genuinely interested in psy. I don't see myself behind a desk, though.

Regarding Plustard, we'll just have to see what happens. Right now we're trying to figure out the last costume design and we should be able to show some teaser-posters.

If you ever want to share your book, I'm more than glad to read it : )

Have you shown off your short videos when you apply for jobs? If not, you should. Having something to show is much better than having a diploma, I've heard. At least in the entertainment industry.

Yeah, you could maybe try including a tinyURL in your C.V/Resume/application form that leads to one of your more artsy ones (like the silent hill one, which is short enough to get their attention). Or maybe even make a video C.V. showing of your skills or something. That's make you stand out from the crowd without a diploma.

Of course it won't work if there's no jobs out there though... ¬_¬
