I've seen the show, and I will respectfully, strongly disagree. No accounting for taste I suppose.
If you're a fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation, watch the second season premiere "The Return of Harmony". The character of Discord is inspired by Q. Like Q, he's a god-like being who enjoys chaos. They even got John De Lancie, who played Q on TNG, to do the part. It's excellent.
I think it took me one and a half episodes until I was what I would call hooked. Awesome show. It's managed to change my view that very kids show these days isn't a patch on the good old days! I've forced myself to slow down now though, around 10 episodes into season 2.
By the time I was finished with episode one, I felt inclined to watch the second episode, just to give the show a chance to finish telling me its story.
By the time I finished the second episode, I was intrigued and decided to watch some more episodes. After about 9 episodes, I was hooked altogether and have been ever since.
And now I must live with the curse of the four-month wait between seasons. Oh well. Plenty of time to make myself more acquainted with the fandom.
I'm barely even a fan of the show and I'm finding myself writing fanfiction for it. Of course, given my style of writing, it's more a Cthulu fanfiction than an MLP one...
I can just imagine the difficult conversations I'd have to have if I made it my final project at college!
It'd have mules in it. And the moral would be that friends can come from anywhere, no matter the background. I'm surprised they haven't done that. Although I have noticed a distinct four class structure in MLP society: Pegasus>Unicorn>Groundies>males.
I just saw all your pony-related Let's play videos. Wow! So many games!
We should make a pony game.
That reminds me, I've got got to get somewhere with actually writing the episodes of that game properly. While I've got a summery for episode 1 and some of episode 2, I'll need to get more detailed.
I don't think males really are the bottom of society, I think it's just meant as an opposite to the usual cartoons of males being everywhere and females being rare. I wouldn't say that females are at the bottom of society, in say DuckTales, even though Webby and Mrs. Beakley are the only prominent female secondary characters and you rarely see other female characters besides Magica DeSpell, Scrooge's secretary and Fenton Crackshell's mom (and you don't see many female background characters either).
Also, in your ranking of society, don't forget the Pegasus unicorns like Princess Celestia. They're at the very top.

My Little Pony: Fundraising is Magic of course! The game I believe you offered to do the music for! I've also got someone on the sprites/backgrounds (though I'm not sure they will actually do it) and someone who can use AGS.

I want to help. O.O Tell me what to do.
edit: I know some AGS. I could easily learn more. It's just been my lack of artistic abilities that have limited how far I've gotten in making any game. MSPaint NOT FTW.
How about doing a storyline involving a local business pony buying up all the land, and the fundraiser thing is being used to buy it all back. A little cliched but it could work. And then throw in an ending where the business tycoon is overwhelmed by how the community got together that he invests the money in doing up some derelict part of town instead.
I think that plot line would be better suited to action/adventure though. With each pony putting on a different fundraiser (racing, petting zoo, strength, building competitions, party games, that sort of thing,) but it could still have the adventure elements to it. Like getting the equipment to set up the stalls, or getting people to come. There could even be a subplot about something hidden under the ground which is why the tycoon wants to buy the land in the first place. Maybe the last episode could delve into that part in more detail.
Just a little suggestion. I would volunteer to help write, but I've a lot on my metaphorical plate at the moment, so I'd find it difficult to get the time. Plus I'm still very new to the pony-verse. Keep us all updated!

Well I've already got someone to use AGS, but thanks anyway.
As for the plot, I've got a bit further on a Google Document (and to be honest that blog post is out dated). I'll just copy the overall from the document:
After a close call over at Sweet Apple Acres it obvious that everything is just simply old and needs replacing before somepony gets hurt. But due to the farm only earning enough to get by, the Apple family can’t simply go and buy what they need. Apple Bloom then comes up with the idea of a big fund raiser for the farm while claiming that everypony won’t last long without their apples.
While ignoring the second part, Apple Jack notes that this is the only plan they have and if nothing is done soon things be getting a lot tougher for them. She then heads off to ask her friends for help having already learnt her lesson in the show.
The Mane Six then argue over what to go with then finally settling on making their own things and using them together (thanks to a suggestion from Spike). The game starts with Applejack as she tries to think of what she could do to raise money.

Sounds cool. Much better than mine. It's more in line with the concept of the show, whereas my idea probably falls into the trap of "It's a spin off media so must be more dramatic.", which most of the time doesn't work at all.

Yeah, that's kind of the goal of this project. Bonus points of I actually manage to work a moral in for a letter to Celestia! Though that's just overestimating my writing skills.
Speaking of my poor writing skills, despite how I avoid fan fiction, I've started my own: The Blue Box.
Here's something worth checking out. Fans are making an Ace Attorney Investigations-style pony game, and they've released a demo just now. Nice production values and the writing is actually pretty good. It just leaves you hanging so soon...
I'm going to wait for the full game so I'm not left with a cliff hanger for months, but from what I've seen it's looks pretty good. I wonder if they would mind if I did a Let's Play of it.

Neigh?
I'm still not convinced this whole pony thing is not an elaborate, coordinated troll against me by the entire internet.
I can assure you, it's not. It's just really that good.
Twelve Episodes Later- Why can't I stop watching?!
I watched the first one and I was hooked.

You don't need sleep! Watch another episode!
I'm sorry... I'll just... um... go... uh... watch another episode... I guess... I mean, if that's alright with you...
But there are ponies in it.

What game? Do tell.
Loved every minute of it.
Can't wait to watch season 2.

You can send your Q's to Gene Roddenberry. (geddit? as in P's and Q's? No? Aw...)

Let's have a party, and then an after birthday party tomorrow!
Lego My Little Pony. Yes, I'm serious. Some guy actually rendered these models. No, it's not official yet, but it can be with a bit more support.
To support this project, go here. No money is needed to support the idea, just a pledge.
Oh yeah!
My Little Pony meets Doctor Who
And where exactly have you been for the past one and a half years?
Doctor Whooves has been all over the web ever since his first appearance.
