I've downloaded the game, then restarted steam/internet/computer reinstalled the game several times. I never get an actual error it just crashes. I click to play it says steam is preparing to launch game then nothing happens. I have a very good computer all my drivers are up to date. I even tried downloading the atiloglxx.dll (March 9th 2012) and placed it into my game directory manually. I run ATI Radion 5570 HD video card. So Im not running NVIDEA. does anyone have any other ideas? could this be something that they are working on? or am i stuck trying to figure out what to do myself?

Are you guys having stuttering issues? I've noticed a lot of people using AMD cards are experiencing stuttering, particularly early on when you're in the woods.

If you are, please comment in this thread - http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29161

Hopefully it'll get fixed, make sure you leave your systems specs.

I've done everything everyone has mentioned. I restarted my CPU/Internet/Steam I've uninstalled the game several times and re installed it, I have found the atilogxll.dll (03/09/2012) and placed it into my game directory I run a ATI Radion 5570 HD graphics card. I have the latest versions of my drivers and Direct X. After applying those changes I did restart the computer/internet/steam again and still nothing. Is this something that they will be working on as well or am I left to fend and find a fix myself?

I seem to be getting a WerFault.exe process that pops up everytime the process is going to end.

Pretty sure they are going to be looking into it. Might be up to a week before we have an official fix though.

I have talked to friends(12ppl) of mine everyone of them are having the same issues. I'm sure as well that they will work on a fix that is to many people who paid not being able to play.

That's a non-standard widescreen resolution. Running in that resolution will result in very light letterboxing during the game, which is normal.

I don't have it yet but how is the support for 16:10? With JP and BTTF it was black boxed to 16:9. Is that the case here? (not that I care that much, just wondering)

Study: 1366x768 now the most popular screen resolution

I only have one friend thats been able to play the game through steam. Hopefully this gets resolved quick. If not, I have Dead space 1 and 2 to quench my thirst for zombies.

    Guys Stop kissing Ass.

TellTale Fix ur damn game, you should be ashamed of yourself accepting our Hard earned money.

You would've died out during the Nintendo days, you couldn't patch ur games then. You release something when it's finished.

You'd think a 500 meg game that has a drawn out story board would work from day 1.

Stop apologizing, stop asking us for 100s of DXdiag.

This should've been caught easily, it's not like 1 or 2 people have the problem.

Last game I buy launch from this company.

I do find a solution (alone..), if you are with windows vista or 7, just stop the windows "Aero" effect, it's working for me !

You know, I tend to agree not as harshly as L1qu1dat1on but the message is there. You have one of the most popular shows of all time. They release a game that comes out once a month. Its not online its a single player experience and you have %90 + of your consumers who bought the game unable to play? Free games have had better launch days. Heck I personally don't remember a launch that had %90+ consumers shit out of luck with no real response from the distributor. As a customer i will not purchase again a launch title from your company and I will not support your company in the pre order sales and it seems you wont advise us as to what your doing about it on launch day. I do hope this gets working shortly and that you can at least redeem your company and customer service. Best of luck TT truly

Bought the game a week ago. Downloads at 13:00 today. finishes in 15 minutes. I download everything like a normal steam game would. Is says it's not responding. Did everything that everyone suggested. Promised people I would do an LP on it the same day it comes out. Guess my promise is now a lie bc they game fails to work. i need it fixed asap. I hate spending money on things that dont work. Wouldnt mind if it was a $2 game but it cost me $22. When your a disabled vet money matters no matter how much..So please just fix the damn game so we can all enjoy it and hope that the next 4 episodes dont happen like this.

Yeah the woods were very choppy. Checking the thread out now. Thanks again by the way.

Does nothing for me, apperently all the suggestions by the users don't work.

I also tried jiggling the cord, rotating my pc to the North and saying abracadabra but apparently wishful thinking and magic doesn't fix poor premature releases.

    Sigh:confused:

Seems like some of the suggested fixes are helping random people.
I've been trying out everything suggested and I finally got the game to work.
I right clicked the "WalkingDead101" application in the steam folders.
Went to properties and checked "Run as Admin" and "Disable desktop composition".

I know its random, but maybe it will help a couple people with their frustration (or possibly make it worse).

    Good Luck!

    Tried:

    Disable Aero
    Run As Admin
    Run as: Vist, XP etc.

    Force Integrated, Force Nvidia

    Configure AntiVirus, disable Antivirus

DX install, latest NV drivers, Intel everything

Also tried Disabling High Quality sound and Set to CD quality.

Sold my Soul to the Devil...

    Nothing worked.

Im running it fine here. I thought if anyone would have a problem it might be me since Im using it on an older system.

    Windows 7 32 bit Laptop
    Nvidia 7950 ect ect.

Doesnt seem to be graphics card specific, or brand. One thing common so far with most is those using a 64 bit system. I can install it on my desktop which is a 64 bit high end system and see if I can run it there or not.

Doesnt seem to be graphics card specific, or brand. One thing common so far with most is those using a 64 bit system. I can install it on my desktop which is a 64 bit high end system and see if I can run it there or not.

First game in history I ever need to downgrade my computer for being too good..

Who knows this might be the new gaming standard...one day we'll be back to Floppy Drives:)

The Walking Dead: Dead Pixel a spin off of Zork.

For me it works to unplug my X-Box 360 Controller. Game startet up in Windowed Mode. On the ingame Menue i change it to Fullscreen, now it works fine.

I certainly understand your having a really bad hair day based on your posts, but some of us are just trying to be helpful rather than hysterical. I know its common for some to pound their fists and accomplish nothing, but Im sure they're doing what they can to pin the problem down. Telltale has always been very good in that regard. Try taking a breath and relaxing.

Making a Sticky for this would've helped and actually making and announcement that they are working on this.

I'm glad your money means that little to you. I'm sure Capcom would appreciate you as a customer as well.

I don't pound my fists, I speak the truth. I'm paying them to fix the problem. When they pay me, I'll post in a calm and orderly fashion.

I was able to get the game to load by unplugging xbox controller, but you can't get the controller to work once the game has loaded.

Also, the graphics are totally jacked. missing polygons so Lee has holes in his head shaped like triangles, and big black polygon floating midair.....

Gonna just buy PS3 version when I have the money

I do find a solution (alone..), if you are with windows vista or 7, just stop the windows "Aero" effect, it's working for me !

My own solution didn't work anymore.... run the game once, put the game on full screen, reboot it, can't launch it... wt*.......

Well Im not actually having a problem with the game, and if I were, Im pretty confident based on their past support it will be fixed fairly shortly. I get it though, your upset, and this is how you handle things.

Letting the dev know that your pissed is a good start to getting them to get beta testers :).

6 years could've clicked on an icon and seen that it doesn't boot:)

Why don't you share some more of your vast software engineering knowledge w/them!

The game was JUST released. Having issues is not excusable but neither is acting like a childish brat.
