Everytime I click on an object to use or look at etc, I start moving to the right of the screen. The only way to stop this is to press 'd' or move right myself, then the controls unlock and everything is fine, until I interact with another object again.
Do you have a controller of any kind on your PC? Even if your not using it? Sometimes controllers dont center well and will cause this. If your actually using a controller to play, have you tried recalibrating it?

i'm not using a controller to play, nor have any software/hardware connected that would cause any type of confusion. it's purely the mouse and keyboard.
Looking at the specs, it might be the automatic detection for the Optimus Routing layer isn't switching over to the GPU (as in not the IPG or Integrated card).
I don't have the setting enabled because I don't have that card, but attached is a screenshot of the photo of the setting you need to set.
* Go into the NVIDIA Control panel and go to the "Manage 3D Settings" section under "3D Settings".
* From there, go to the "Program Settings" tab, then hit the "Add" button and pick WalkingDead101.exe from the game's install location.
* Once added, select the "Preferred graphics processor" to "High-performance NVIDIA processor".
* Click "Apply".
Hopefully this will force the Optimus Routing layer to the GPU and not the IPG.

Since you have been so fast and took my incident as a special case I did you one better:)
And as an appreciation from my part I will cancel the Steam Ticket:) and retract my low blows and Anger.
Hi guys, I just signed up to post my fix. I set the compatibility mode to "Windows 98/ Windows Me". I know it sounds crazy but it worked for me and I have just finished my first playthrough. This game is awesome!
I had a similar problem though by disconnecting all my USB operated hardware and dis-abling the software associated with each thing and only connecting the mouse/keyboard and turning down the mouse sensitivity in game it fixed the issue for me though I then ended up using my wired xbox 360 controller just for easier controls and button mashing at certain scenes

I'm gonna try my best to explain. Assuming you have the Steam version of the game.
Use My Computer to get to the game directory. By default it should be
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\the walking dead
Then you will see an executable "WalkingDead101.exe"
1. Right click and go to "Properties"
2. Click on "Compatibility" tab
3. Put a tick a tick on "Run this on compatibility mode for"
4. Choose "Windows 98/ Windows Me"
5. Put a tick on "Run this program as an administrator" and click "Apply"
6. Try running the game

The only other time Ive had this problem was when I used a Razor Mouse. The drift was terrible on some machines. I still use them today, but its a problem on and off. Try this, when your in the game, and it begins drifting, unplug your mouse. If it stops, try using a different mouse.

I've been trying to load this game for HOURS! Tried reinstalling, running as admin, starting from the .exe file, nothing worked. Kept getting the 101.exe file problem.
Then I tired this, and the game started on the first try! Thanks a bunch man!
Try right-clicking the game's executable and then clicking Run As Administrator, please.
That fixed it for me. It did not crash on startup. I then just had to go in and adjust the graphics settings once the game started up, as it was trying to run at some crazy resolution in windowed mode by default, which I suspect was the reason for the crashing in the first place. Will update if there are any further issues, but for now, all fixed. Thank you.
I swear to GOD if 1 more person posts a fix that works for them and not me I'm going to lose it:) LOL
I dont know why your so upset. I think your being very unreasonable in that you bought a game and expect it to work Seriously, what were you thinking here?
It could have been worse, you could of played the game but be expected to work, thus being late. Which might of cost you employment, which in turn would take a huge toll on future game purchases which may or may not work or have any relevance what so ever. Although your playing time would increase, its hard to see the beneficial tradeoff there.
There is supposed to be some sort of symbolism there but Ive no idea what it could possibly be.
Oh Oh Ive an idea! Get a refund via STEAM for your copy okay? Following me? PAY ATTENTION! Okay, THEN, buy TellTales Game store version instead. Ahh ah yes yes I know, how does this solve your problem you ask? Well see Telltale game store version wont be available till tomorrow see? So this gives you one whole night off from stressing over it at all! Seriously, its the perfect solution.

Wrong file
Then you will see an executable "WalkingDead101.exe" Has to be the executable.
I just finished episode one and after it showed the preview for episode 2 it brings me to this screen with tan and red bars going horizontal across the screen. It says to press X to continue at the bottom of the screen but when i do press X it does nothing. My ps3 is not frozen because it still allows me to press start and the start menu pops up. Anyone know whats going on here? Is my game saved? Should i just exit the game and be all set?
P.S.
I even played the last part over and it still brought me to the same screen and wont allow me to continue...
You used EXPLORER and went to the sub files right? Not your desktop. Although you can do it the desktop shortcut to and it will do it for you. Try that instead? If you dont have a shortcut make one, go to your STEAM library, right click the game. Pick create Shortcut, and then use the same method as above, but just do it to the shortcut.
I'm having the exact same issue on the PS3. I exited out of the game completely, reloaded from the last checkpoint and went through the final conversations a second time. Yet again, the trailer for the next episode played and I got stuck on the very same end screen (brown/tan bars, red bars etc.) again. Hitting 'x' seems to do absolutely nothing. Is there a solution to this yet?
I think I posted on your other thread domopunk I beileve u will be ok because last save point is before credits I could be wrong though someone from telltale jump this thread help him out!

It's getting all "Frugal-like" in here.
Registered to report that my game now starts after changing the exe to Win98/Me compatibility and running as Admin., too.
@Corrosive -- The exe is located in {whatever path}\Steam\steamapps\common\the walking dead\
Turned of AA and it worked allright. Got some time to mess with graphics settings. Still would like to turn it on though
PS- Got about halfway through and it happens every so often during cut scenes. Its not crashing the game out but my drivers keep failing me.
