Really hate to burst the bubble but issues like this normally not dev's fault.
we hate it people here think that telltale just did not release game here cause afraid that the game wont pass classification here but why not new zealand they have which was odd enough..
but i think tell tale just did not bother to even try come on trying is better then doing nothing.
look deadly premonition 360 game which released everywhere except austalia afraid of classification they choice not to release it here is it not the same they choice not to release walking dead
which everyone in australia and new zealand was dying to play this game
Don't forget the Left 4 Dead 2 list. For every two people boycotting a game, one of them turns out to be a lying sack of crap.
pun / hershal ref ?
The thing with l4d2 is it was released a year after the first one, a bit soon..for some
The 'fog' RUINED it for me yes i hear it was done to allow more zombies on screen but l4d1 had loads with out it...add to that the weather effects made it almost impossible to see anything..i was very disapointed with that..
The characters where well made and voiced but there was no sense of team work between them, they where just using each other to survive..l4d1 gave the sense of team work..
The level design was messy sometimes it was hard to see where you had to go especially with the fog and weather..(yes i know that was probably on purpose) but it just ruined the 'fun'
only really saving grace was the new infected and versus 'cos i dealt out ownage' lol
so i will be very wary of l4d3 if an when it is released...
Seriously. Besides the point that the OP is rather short-sighted and that the notion of it all is rather silly - one thing just tops it all.
What is it that made people think that companies are suddenly not victim to common sense? If Company A finds that submitting a rating of X cost for a game - and the revenue for said game can be expected to amount to Y... well, then X better be way more than Y. If X is even less than Y or more or less equal (which is what Telltale's own MOD strongly insinuated is the case with New Zealand and Telltale's niche - and very cheap - game), then there is no sense in releasing the game there!
A company is not there for you to be a fan of their games, they are there to make money for the people who invest in the company. The company thriving and making money means that it can employ people.
I heard people don't like getting laid off, so how about comprehending the most basic structure in our society; companies are supposed to make money.
It is great to be a fan of something, it is great to sincerely dislike this or that product - or this or that company because they're ruining a franchise or whatever. It is even very fair to simply not buy their product or service if you dislike it, that is your common sense as a consumer and in the long run - that is what changed what kind of products we get.
But not buying something the company is not even offering you - and blaming the company that has absolutely no sway over bureaucracy and/or stupid rating laws (come on people, the US itself is utterly archaic when it comes to rating games and films in the first place - it is not at all an alien issue). Well. All of that basically just proves that people don't get the jist.
TLDR =
Companies making sound business decisions -> People having jobs -> People getting paid
-> People not starving.
I like to think of this scenario like a brand new disco train driver. Imagine you’ve got the hippest new thing out and you’ve just picked up your passengers for the day. You’re packed to the brim, discoing along. Momentarily you arrive at another station full of passengers. You have to leave because you can’t cater for them, which is fine. On the way home though you realize you’ve made enough money to buy another train car but you decide to leave it for now because this next train car might not get the necessary approval to be on the rails. So you do your train ride again the next time over and pass those passengers again. Some of whom have left because they can’t be bothered waiting, another portion have resorted to illegal actions just to enter your disco train, you’re not worried though. You’re getting money why should you care. You even have a penthouse disco floor for all your elitists, the people discoing in that are highly questionable. Criminals mingling in with the ‘upperclass’. You keep on doing that routine and eventually there’s only a few people left at the station when you finally arrive to pick them up because everyone else is tired of your disco train. They’ve been on it twenty times now, meanwhile all the people who wanted to ride the disco train when it was cool and couldn’t are happy to just let you pass by. Maybe a couple will get on just for kicks, all the others are going to be okay with not riding it; because they watched the whole game on youtube.
