Maybe Telltale have been a little bit too successful with their writing in this game, with people actually wanting to give up playing the game because they've lost character's they've become attached to.

I would guess that they would have expected some kind of reaction but I doubt they would have expected this much. Who knows what they have in store for us next.

Of course I'm gonna keep playing, I have to know what happens to Lee & Clem.

But kudos to the writers at Telltale for making feel stuff for video game characters. This strengthens my belief that Telltale have some of the best writers around and that their story telling abilities are second to none in my eyes.

I like the story as the whole package,so even with nobody left in group that i like i am still interested in future episodes.I want to see whats gonna happen to Lee&Clem and to see is Lilly going to shows up.
I am also looking forward to get season 2 when it's comes out,i have a feeling it's gonna be even better then this one ;)

The only reason I'm continuing on throughout the episodes is mainly because of curiosity. That little hope that it'll get better with each episode keeps me going, although episode three is going to be hard to top. I don't care much for Christa and Omid, but I do like Charles. Chuck is something that I'd expect to see during the ZA. A homeless guy isn't that far fetched. The fact that people are wandering around, after months on end, with just the clothing on their backs doesn't really strike my fancy.

So far, the episodes have been good, but I do feel like the trailers for episode four seem kind of slow. The trauma we went through in three is going to be hard to contend with through the next two episodes, but TTG has delivered so far, in my books.

Hopefully episode four brings it up a notch! Great job, so far, TTG! :D

Isnt that what carried this game from day1?
    The character interactions?
It most certainly isnt the wide variety of choices in the game and the impressive fps part.

More than anything what carried this game for me was "the walking dead" name.
But i am not certain i would care much for the tv show either if it decides to kill most of the original cast in season 3.

At first I didn't like losing the majority of the original group and being stuck with new people that I would have to learn more about etc. but then I realised it is very good writing by TTG.

It's the zombie apocalypse. There is going to be tragedy. It would be much more unrealistic if everyone survived and played happy families. There was tension in the group from the start and it came to a head with Lilly snapping and killing someone. This leads to her leaving the group. A boy who was always excitable and generally care-free ended up getting bit by walkers. The mother of the boy who all along states her despair at what the world has become knows she is going to lose her only child. When she takes him into the forest to be put down, she realises she doesn't want to survive in this world anymore. So she kills herself.

If anything, introducing these new characters is a good thing because some may now realise through experience of the above, that getting emotionally attached to too many people, in the world as it is in the game, only ends in tragedy.

Dammit, Bill. :/ The only reason you're here is because of the steady supply of pills they had. Go be dead in your own game. :D <3

i'm loosing interest but not because of dead characters but my choices change absolutly nothing in the story, i can't change even the smallest detail of the story, so what's the point ? It's a game or an interactive book ?
I'll play the 4 and 5 chapter only because i've a season pass.

Yes that must be it they are just amazing witers... ot the fact that the entire choice method was bs (rolls eyes)

All of you complaining about not liking the current cast... TellTale isn't trying to form up your perfect cast. Shit happens, it's a Zombie Apacolypse. You're not going to trust the people in your group.

Lost interest totaly but not because characters deaths its mostly because choices matter sh*t and if some so changes are very minor. In this way I will just much more enjoy non game drama. You can say I prefer movies where a lots main characters dies so its definetly not because it..

You sure ? Isn't it better for the game to have memorable characters ?At least for me so far i have felt some connection with the characters, and at the moment if anyone else die in last 2 episodes i will be like "oh who cares".

I give you a different example to explain what i have in mind.Let's take Lord Of The Ring books and get rid of Frodo,Aragorn,Gandalf,Gimli and replace them with boring cast of unlikable characters. Is the book still as good as it was ? I don't think so.

Zombie apocalypse or not without good cast this story is going to suffer, and because this isn't a book or a movie they could actually leave players some small window to save at least one character they liked (based on some decision players have made for example in 1 episode so there would be some repeatability here).

Don't get me wrong,i like the game and i still want to play next episodes and i am going to buy second season for sure, but i do understand why some peoples may have lost interest at this point.

I will also play next episodes (mostly because already paid pass) and I am not going to buy second season for sure for now. Still there is chance ep 4,5 change my mind.

...Really? has the wait turned you off?
...No. It's a game. Check the delay between starcraft 1-2, Diablo 2-3, And then this. 2 months per episode. No problem with me.

Waiting and game releases go hand and hand... since... forever.

Nothing new under the sun here.....

Id rather wait 2 months and it be good than 1 and it be rubbish.

I admit that it does get frustrating but what can you do?

2 months betweens episodes are fine with me,and i can imagine how much whining there would be if they would release unfinished episode faster just to please some peoples.

Anyway TT is hiring and that can mean they future releases may have more content or be complete faster (or both).

I don't mind the wait between episodes, but it does bug me a little that these only contribute to the wait until Telltale finishes making its current slew of games.

The Devil's Playhouse came out two years ago. We still have Fables and King's Quest to get through, too! I mean, I'm sure they'll be good games, but it'll be nice to get back to franchises that don't have to worry about "paying tribute" or "getting it right" and can focus more on just plain being fun.

At least we got Puzzle Agent and Hector in the meantime.

I don't care how long I have to wait if the episodes are of great quality (which they have been so far). I'd rather they took their time and made it great rather than rush it a little and just have it OK.
  • edited September 2012
Short answer: Nope. Waiting time always gets me more exited. :P
  • edited September 2012
yeah it ruins alot of it, i simply cannot remember what i said or didn say, or did or didn do in what situation, its just to long apart.

Hopefully they will learn and if they do a season 2, they will do a full game. A game that focuses so much on the small details of what you say or do, its just to long apartment.

I just dont have such a good memory.

I'm actually liking the gap between episodes. The time passes by pretty fast for me anyway, it isn't like I don't have plenty of other things to do while I'm waiting.

I really like the surprise of logging onto steam and seeing that TWD is downloading a new episode.

It's almost like the gaps make the game better for me. If the whole thing had come out at once and I'd beaten it in a weekend it probably wouldn't have had that much of an impact on me. Instead I like sitting down and enjoying an afternoon with a new episode. I look forward to what's going to happen and spend as much time as I can talking to everyone and making sure to explore everything.

After finishing Ep3 and dealing with everything that happened, I still want to play. I cant wait for Ep4, I hope something happens to make up for 3. This image fits my feelings right after finishing Ep3.:D
