i cant be turned off of something i paid for its the fact they flat out gave me false info and now flat out refuse to even give us a concrete release date if the series is gonna be like this through out the rest of the episodes so long tt not buyin their stuff anymore.
  • I've been watching the television show and comic versions to keep me still intrested in the game.
I can deal with the wait for ep.2 its not like two months is that big of a deal compared to games like Duke Nukem forever.

For me, it's not the delay so much as it is the way that they're (not) handling it. The fact that Telltale is cool with taking my money ahead of time to sit on it and earn interest, not delivering the game when they said they would, and then can't even bothered to say when they will deliver the game or explain what the delay is bothers me. It bothers me a lot. If I ever do buy another Telltale game (which is unlikely given how they've handled this), it will be after they've released all the episodes. If they're going to make me wait for what I paid for, I'm going to make them wait for their money.

Yes this wait has completely turned me off about the company. Not the video game. I mean I completely understand delays. What I don't understand is the lack of notification for the customers who purchased the season pass for the game? A simple email would have worked fine.

When I preorder DVD's sometimes the release dates change. Emails are sent out to update customers.

Well, end of June will come next week. I'll be looking forward to it. *does happy dance*

Till then, I'm focusing on other games, so I'm not really too bothered about the wait. Have raised an eyebrow at the delay, yes, but not really too bothered.

But I probably won't buy any other TellTale games if they're not all released as yet. :P

It HAS turned me off. Because when I purchased the Season Pass for the game, it was under the terms that I would receive a new episode of the game on a MONTHLY basis. Video game producers should not promise something they cannot deliver. Simply put, this is just BAD BUSINESS.

However, to add insult to injury, they don't even seem to be making great efforts to announce a new date. So this is simply unforgivable.

close this thread mods is turning into a repeat of the sticky ep2 release date thread ;)

    planned monthly

    that is all..

In hindsight I would have waited 7 months to buy this game when 3 or 4 of the episodes were already done. I don't play normal video games with a gigantic pause in between short Acts. There have been other games and interests that have popped up for me, and I have to go well out of my way to remain interested in Lee's story (posting here seems to help).

If TT misses their "end of June" estimate I don't think I'll be picking up Episode 2. There are too many other things going on to stretch episodic releases out 2+ months.

BTW, Mass effect 1/2/3 are different since each game can be 40+ hours where each game is a contained story arc rather than brief episodes.

listen man...the mods should not close this thread. this is a valid topic. If you're not turned off then tell us why *snip* If this game wasn't the Walking Dead, like a lot of other people on here, I would probably just stop buying the episodes considering the bugs and the terrible way they have been treating their customers.

This pisses me off because I posted a thread back in may saying there was going to be a June 24th release date. Everyone attacked me saying no this isn't true, *snip* , and had TT member get on and "refute" my claim.....Well its June 20th and still no game yet. People are going to get pissed off and if all of us customers wanna talk about being pissed off there isn't much you can do to stop it. Maybe if TT sees and overwhelming amount of people dissatisfied maybe they will step up to the plate and do something about it.

alos this thread is about the how the customers feel about waiting for their product....its not a guessing game to the release date.

True, but then again, the original guessing game thread has now turned into something so completely different that even John Cleese would not be able to sell it.

I really tried to steer the direction of this thread a bit into another direction - and I mean everything I said in my first post - and I think there's a difference in the questions discussed. Now I'd say this is indeed not a thread about Telltale's lack of communication or of the delay, but solely of the diminishing motivation and enthusiasm for the Walking Dead deriving from the lapse of time between episodes one and two. But I'll be damned if the other things aren't at least a related topic.

TL;DR: Thread stays open. Apply reason to distinguish topics. Insults get infracted. That is all.

and i know about that ;)

i am not turned off i have already posted my thoughts earlier in this thread.
the wait is long and it sucks and like vaino i have 3 slots with different play throughs on

luckily i know what my choices are
slot 1 gut reaction, do what i'd do, shaun, carly, pro kenny, missed clem once
slot 2 mostly good choices, not drinking water, duck, doug, pro kenny, save clem
slot 3 pure asshole do not trust carly and save her, pro larry be a bit harsh with clem,

and as for the wiki page blurb when will people realise it's not all legit ?!

This is what I'm saying. How can you say that? I know this is not reliable information, but like I said you can't discredit it. I made my original post and look where we are....four days away from the delay I mention back in the beginning of May.
  • edited June 2012
pure coincidence..the initial statement on the wiki was a fake so the originality of that submission in may was only based on ttg not releasing it in may..since then ttg have said at e3 and on other forms END OF JUNE..

so any date the wiki page gives will be changed to make it look good cos some people think it's funny to mess around others.

untill it is ttg confirmed and available...

.....how can you say that? the original post claimed there was a delay and look whats happening....so possibley, it couldn't be fake. if it comes out on june 24th will you buy my next episode please?
  • edited June 2012
I wish they could stick to there timeline. This is the first time I have played a Telltale game. I do enjoy the game play just disappointed that there's such a long wait.

my head hurts from your bad logic..

i can say what ever i want based upon the facts i see and hear and i cannot be arsed to put them up cos they have been shown alot if you look..in this thread or the release date thread..

by 'the original post', you mean the first wiki entry ?

    a) ep2 didn't get a date in may so naturally people can guess it's next month.

    b) you know it's possibly fake and a ttg employee did post up it is fake/discredited it..

    c) no i won't buy you the 2nd episode....if it was the 24th we would of been told on the forums..

a TT member did not get on refute my post. He gave us broad strokes about how there were no deadlines. After TT got caught with their pants down on the FAQ (saying it was monthly) they quickly changed it to approximately monthly based.

I don't understand how you can still defend TT when were are four days away from a 2monthly delay with no kind of statement. Sorry, but that's bullshit. I don't care that the game has been delayed, I care that I have been left completely in the dark.

We defend them because we have nothing better to do
  • edited June 2012
If this is how it's going to be with each episode, the wait is way too long to keep a good story flowing.

I think at this point I'm just going to put the game on the shelf and check back sometime around Halloween. Maybe I'll get back into it when there are 3 or 4 episodes out.
  • edited June 2012
Turned me off? Kind of... I'm really pissed at TTG for not responding to the communities outcry for the delay. I'm also pissed at the tenaciously annoying forum members blindly defending this game with the age old defence of "Play another game while you wait"
Who the hell purchases a game... To play another game? What?

That said, this is the first and LAST episodic game I will ever purchase.
At this point I'd rather pay £45 for a full game than for tiny chunks from a poor company.

Agreed. Loved the game, and still love it. But like you, this is the first and last time I buy an episodic game.

At the moment I'm feel like it has a little, but I reckon when episode 2 comes out, I'll be all over it and excited again.

The wait has been a bit too long, especially for people new to them as a company. I'm used to TT's not-quite-a-month release schedules, but I think this is probably the longest gap between episodes and it feels it.

Yeah. Somehow the second episode will stand on its own and yield the same kind of fascination although the connection to episode 1 will be somewhat blurred.
  • edited June 2012
Turned me off from the game? No. I'll still play it when/IF new episodes are released since i DID pay for it.

In the future though, i'll never, ever, never ever ever ever never buy a TTG. Ever.

    Never.
    Ever.

    Seriously, fuck TTG. :D

It could be worse, I bought sin episodes. Thank them that they will release the second episode eventually.

I'm actually working on a survival horror (read zombie) message board roleplaying game. I'll link it at some point when it's about ready for launch. Will use a dice roll system built into the forum in order to represent that level of uncertainty and chance for consistent thrills during the adventure.

The plan is to start the game before the zombie apocalypse starts (but is already starting in the background).

High emphasis on character development, decent writing will be stressed.

I'm using vanilla forums since they sort of have a unique forum look to them, almost like a blog. Will probably be ready sometime before Episode 3 is released. >.> Figure it's a good time to capitalize on the Walking Dead game and tv show crowd.

Can always use assistant DMs as well as players, but like I said I'm not showing anything off yet. You can always contact me in PM if you want more info though. Planning on using twitter and facebook as well to keep people in the know.

Anyway it's something that will keep me busy while I am waiting for Episode 2. I love developing games. :)
