Why do people want "Season 2" to be Lee and Clementine still?

Id personally like to see a new group and a new story with a new guy.

I want all to go well for Lee and Clem, but I dont want to be left hanging like that

Season Two featuring Kenny as main lead! I mean aside from Clem what other character has been most affected by Lee's actions?
  • edited September 2012
kenny would suck as the protagonist..

I'd rather they start season 2 with an all new cast. Keeps things fresh. We've already analyzed these characters to death. Lee/Clem can walk off into the ZA sunset happily, maybe we'll see them again, but ya I'd rather a clean slate for S2

I would much rather have a whole new group. I'd still like there to be tie ins to the comics like with this Season and maybe even an appearance from a character in the game (Mark maybe?). I hope Lee and Clementine's story wraps up in Episode 5.

Why do people still want Telltale to be the company that makes it?
  • edited September 2012
Hmmm. Maybe you"ll take control of a different character that meets up with Lee and Clementine. Then if you played like a douche , Lee will be a douche. I think that would be cool. But I'm down for another play through as Lee.

Better the Devil you know than the Devil you dont.

You want a brand new set of hands trying to fumble through another season of this? TTG hasnt done anything too bad with this game except for maybe the lack of communication on release dates, imo

Those are two of the biggest issues yes, but for me that is enough. People keep talking about they are a small company as an excuse of the project coming up short. Well then give it to a bigger company. Telltale dropped the ball and shouldn't be given another chance to do so.

Now it's time to let someone else have a crack at it.

ya lets give it to a AAA publisher; then everyone will get what they wanted:
    Lots of guns
'Smelling salts' to 'wake people up' after they've been shot in the face
    Immortality for all
and total removal from the gritty realism that the world is based off...
ya, no thanks. TTG is crafting a mature and realistic game of survival and have the green light to continue in my book.
When I want to 'Rambo' the ZA, I'll go play Left for Dead

i see the ban has lifted cheshire ? WB :)

ttg own the license / rights from the comic and activision have the rights with amc for the tv show ? am i right ?

also if anyone else did it true we'd get it all in one go and it would take at least a year to make, then they would give us a little bit of info and more teasing and i also doubt it would be as dark or less buggy and the release schedule would still be all over the place..
and then probably charge us extra for 'dlc' that is on the whole utter shite cough 'saints row the third' cough

It'll be cool to start off season 2 with a weapon trained Clementine and you get to see how she's matured. I don't think she's gonna be graduated to Walkers this season anyways.

I can see it now.... Season 2 opens after a recap from all the truly major decisions in Season 1. Then fade to black, open up on a single walker eating a decomposing head when a gun appears at the back of its head. Suddenly, it gives off light from a (TTG Walking Dead silenced-by-skull!) shot. Camera shifts and we see a slightly aged Clementine (9 or 10 maybe?). Lee then walks up to stand slightly back and to the left from her and places his hand on her shoulder.

    Lee: "Did you kill it?"
Clementine: "(Slyly retorts with whatever you said to her after killing Sandra)"
    Lee: (chuckles)
Clementine: "Does this mean I graduated, Lee?"
Lee: "Yeah, well I guess I'll have to get you a diploma, huh? (or something like that)"

Then we can see why they had to kill that walker or if they were just "graduating" Clementine or whatever. But that is why Lee and Clementine should definitely be the protagonists for Season 2. These nuances to the first season would be recognized by invested players, and would give new players a peek into the relationship between Lee and Clem. Plus, I don't see how they're already "stale," Rick and Carl have been around for 100 issues now and this season would be comparative to something below 20 issues for Lee and Clem.

I can tell you watch anime by how corny that little made up dialogue you just posted was.

Reminds me a little of the beginning of episode 2 (killing a walker), and this is nice!

DEFINITELY new character and scenarios pls

I'm gonna be king of the zombie slayers-ttebayo!

Yeah, the idea to let anyone continue this aside from Telltale is horrible. If you don't like the game, there are plenty of variants on the zombie story. Play one of those if you don't like Telltale. All else get on the next train to funville! I think it departs in about four months!

    WHOOO-WOOOOO!

Plenty of zombie stories? Plenty of zombie shooters more like it. Very hard for me to come up with a story-driven game with themes of survival, humanity, etc. set during a zombie apocalypse.

There are few story driven zombie games and even fewer interactive stories like Heavy Rain and Walking Dead. We're still very much in a "take what you can get" stage. It'll be years before we get that Choose Your Own Adventure feel to a game.

    So yeah, L4D2 or this.

    l4d2 hasn't got much story...

Are you kidding? I cried when that poor man didn't have cola.
  • edited September 2012
nope, l4d2 was a lame cash in to me, the characters did nothing the story was just a hollowed out corpse compared to the first game the characters don't 'bond'

also didn't like the fogging, or the get to this section to stop zombies coming sections (impossible on high difficulty)..

i only enjoyed the scavenger mode in versus...lol
  • edited September 2012
No, I'm not actually defending L4D2 or suggesting it's a good replacement for Walking Dead.

Now we're getting back on topic here. I don't know, in the interview, it was stated that season 2 will reveal what happened in season 1. I can only think of this being enough that Lee will return as the protagonist.

I got L4D2 when I first got my Xbox and really never liked it.. same with Resident Evil.. Mostly because I dont like the super-zombies.. Running, spitting acid, exploding.. pffft!

I say lose the little girl. *shrug* I never cared much for her in the story anyway. Children slow you down in the middle of a ZA. The only useful thing she's done is to bring Lee a hammer and the cane. Otherwise, just a mouth to feed. She's even too afraid to use a gun. Let Lee go on his own next season.

It's been aeons since I've connected this intensely with two characters in a video game. I'm all for the current duo staying as protagonists, or at the very least, Lee dies & Clem continues etc.. I have a strong feeling that this will happen.. Would be better for me if they both survived into the second season though :)

In this interview, it was stated that your saves from season 1 will affect what you do in season 2. Hopefully this means that Lee and Clem are returning.
Not for the tens of thousands of us playing on pc, it won't. For us there will be some random, centrist beginning.

You always complain about this. You know that a lot of people have working saves, right? I've never had a single problem though I'm on PC as well. "Speak for yourself", I think is what I should say. Sorry your saves are broken is what I'll choose instead.

If it's possible, TTG should be confined to helping write the story for Season 2. Short of turning out a literally unplayable game, TTG has demonstrated that, despite their experience, they simply can't do a good job with game mechanics.

Farm out the mechanics to a new company, and limit TTG's involvement to storytelling.

And, please grow up. The inability to be able to accept having 'your' game criticized is beyond childish. It's how games, and people, grow and improve.

"Literally" unplayable? I played it several times and have never had a glitch. You're being hyperbolic and ridiculous. Telltale and Quantic Dream are the only companies making games like these. If you want another company to do so, you'd have to petition them or create the company yourself. Telltale's attempt to use these mechanics came out better than Quantic Dream's first try (Indigo Prophecy). I'm being very realistic when I say that Telltale is perfectly suitable to continue the story.

And grow up? Hi, I supported what you said in another thread. Perhaps you read it? Also, I'm clearly poking fun at RAILROADS. You know, that thing on tracks you can't deviate from. HELLO, I'm criticizing the game too. Just because I'm not as serious about it as you are doesn't mean you need to paint fanboy on my chest and urinate on my begonias.

You've misquoted what I wrote and took it entirely out of context in order, I imagine, to continue to argue with the straw man you've fallen in love with.

Uh, all I did was call you on the "literally" bullshit and say you're wrong to say that I'm above letting people criticize the game. If I've twisted anything you've said, you're gonna have to be specific. I don't give credibility to a "nuh-uh" post.

You must be new here. Lilly's story continues in the comic books. She appears in volume 8, I believe.
