Will Clementine die?

edited November 2012 in The Walking Dead
First, let me say I don't want either, but I can totally imagine the writers doing something evil like killing off Lee and then Clem goes into sex slavery or something terrible.

If you kill Clem...

Just give Lee the option to off himself. Seriously.

If you kill Lee...

Just keep her safe. There's no ZA and children in this world are sold into slavery, prostitution, and all kinds of terrible things. I can't imagine what a world in a ZA world would look like. Just keep her safe.

Please & Thank you

Stop killing people we like for at least one episode, ta. I think we've had enough of that for 1 episode.
  • edited August 2012
Just think, we just taught Clem how to use a sidearm in this episode. >_> I don't like where this is going. :(

I feel violated after ep3. I really do. But I fear that it's coming down to what Red Panda said, someone is probably going to get raped. Would fit after cannibalism, raiders and the senseless killing inside the group. God, the walking dead game is just like the comics, but more intense, as you are making the choices.

i reckon clem will survive but lee doesn't..

My prediction is that Clementine will live, but all the horrible shit she's gone through will completely shatter that innocence of hers we all want to protect.

With the death of Duck (Purely for the fact that it happened and how it can happen), I'm beside myself on how this is going to end. I've noticed a lot of bits and pieces that don't make a lick of sense when it comes to Clemy. I honestly wouldn't be surprised, with the above mentioned and a messed up twist of fate, if Clemy kills Lee in the end. Or, worse, the other way around. I hope I'm wrong, but that would be one helluva grimdark ending. <3

Jolene's daughter was harmed: it seemed to implied she was kidnapped, raped, murdered, then eaten, and she was close to Clem's age. Don't put anything past the writers at this point.
  • edited August 2012
Yeah, but that was implied through the evidence. Actually participating in Duck's untimely demise is what made me do a toss up. I will give a huge kudos to TT, though, I don't see that in too many games. :)

I don't care what happens to anyone else, but if Clem dies I seriously won't know what to do with myself :(

there is .000001% chance that lee and/or clem will die. I could totally see them being seperated at the end of episode 4 (maybe the pedo gets clem) but they will be reunited and more improtantly alive.

i get the feeling lee will die, and season 2 will be about clem

I think there will be a choice - save Clementine, save yourself.

In the comics people are dying left right and center. It's just the way this dark new world is.

I never figured Lee would survive.

I always assumed he was redeeming himself via Clem somehow.

Lee could only be killed in the very end of episode 5, except if the game FAQ is lying to us. ;)

So who do I play as?
You play the game as Lee Everett, a man convicted of a crime, but who is offered a chance at redemption…albeit in a world overtaken by walkers. You’ll only ever play as Lee and will see the world from his point of view.

I see Lee dieing defending Clem. A really strong ending is Lee getting bitten then spending his last moments defending Clem and getting her and maybe her family to a boat. A tough decision would be what to tell Clem before you turn.

It's The Walking Dead, people die. The death's that have happened in this series have been rather tame compared to the comics...

The post above me said, People die.
Deal with it, Nothing else to say. There's a zombie apocalypse, And since the beginning people die. Nothing we can do.

The game started with Lee, it stands to reason the game will end with Lee.

Seriously, I found Duck to be kind of silly and a little annoying, yet his and Katja's death had me bawling... doing that right after losing Carley and leaving Lily for dead, it was just too much and I cried like a baby. It seems teh writers are really trying to make us feel the sacrifices of those loved ones.

Then, I had a horrible thought, a terribnle thought. It occurs to me that in the final episode, they're going to kill Clementine. I mean, what would be more emotionally devastating than that?

Please Telltale, I'm begging you, please don't kill Clementine. I really don't think I'd handle it well at all... :(

well the walking dead isnt supposed to end happy so i doubt anything good will happen to her. Possibly she will survive for a season 2, but then again maybe not.

I've no idea what TTG has in store for Clem, but my gut tell's me she (and Lee) wont die in this season one!

What I do see, is some horrible choice we'll have to make in EP4 or 5 like having to shoot Clems zombified parents in front of her.. Something that will really push the boundaries of Lee and Clem's relationship!

Lee has already explained to Clem the need to "put Duck out of his misery" or how in this world, killing is necessary to survive, but if it comes down to her own parents, how will Lee explain and justify that the Clem?

TBH, My Lee will be blunt and honest with her.. Harsh to be sure, but in this current world, that is the new law of survival!

What if they make it that Clem is the one who has to shoot them if it happens.

It could be Lee slips and drops his gun and it slides over to where Clem is standing, Then Lee will be cornered by Clem's zombie parents and Clem is forced to shoot them to save Lee. The reason could be is Clem finds it hard but knows that she needs Lee and figures out how much of a father figure he has been throughout this adventure.

I like the way that, during certain lines with Kenny and Kat right before shooting Duck, they say a couple times that they're "Out of time" or there's "No Time Left". That's also the name of Episode 5. Maybe someone gets bitten at the end of 4...

    Damn it Moragami!
I think you've just jinxed Clem. Be quick and delete your post before you give Telltale any ideas!!!

I think you chose the wrong intellectual property and genre if you don't want beloved characters to die.
  • edited September 2012
I don't think either of then will die. Unless they have a super badass character planned for Season 2 then I don't see it happening. Why? Cause you can only play the kill the protagonist card once before it loses it's effect. So maybe Season 2?
  • edited September 2012
I've seen a interview with Telltale that said that players should keep their saves.Surely that means Lee and/or Clem survive? I cant see why you would need to save your choices if season 2 involves a totally different group because all the originals are dead.
  • edited September 2012
Clem is already dead if that's the storyline. Nothing we say is going to change more than a throwaway line.

I'd like to see Clem live in 50% of the endings and die in others. Don't know how that would play into a sequel.
  • edited September 2012
We will probably have a new set of survivors but maybe a guest appearance of some survivors maybe Clementine (maybe when she is older) and she will act differently depending on what you did and what role model you were

I agree, episode 48 of the comic was like 10 kicks to the gonads for me

I'm waiting for the compendium to read 48 to 96, but somebody already spoiled issue 100 for me. Without spoiling for others, let's just say, Bearcules is not exaggerating, beloved characters getting killed is definitely the norm for this IP.

Still, if they make Clem a zombie, and I have to kill her. Well, let's just say I'd rather not play the next game.

wow, this game has you all wrapped around its finger eh?

There is not going to be a happy ending to this season and my feeling is Telltale are keeping the worst moment for the finale. If they really want the maximum effect on the userbase, Episode 4 will end with Clem being bitten and Episode 5 will be a long, drawn out affair towards the inevitable end.
  • edited September 2012
Yup I get the feeling TellTale are building up to something quite depressing. I hope we will have some choice in the matter tho, such as Clem dies unless you do something quite horrible to someone else, but will result in Clem hating you and running away (like the Abraham backstory in the comics).

After all the depressing build-up, I find it more likely that Clementine dies than that Lee does. It's his story after all - and what could be more depressing than a world without children. Lee survives, Clementine dies: The ending no one wants. Juuuuuust what Kirkman would do.
  • edited September 2012
Oh wow, for some reason I didn't consider an ending where Lee lives and Clem dies...dammit, this opens up so many evil possibilities for an ending, that just thinking about it sends a shiver down my spine, geez.

I hope they make the ending as sad as possible.

that will give a dark overtone to the game in later plays.

Kinda like a YOLO feel. ya know?

Turn her into a zombie happy meal.

Not because I want her to die, but because I think the reaction would be quite.... interesting.
