I said 3 days as I knew the release date would be announced within the next 3 days. IGN says it will be November 30th.

But that's just for ps3 and xbox, the rest of us will probably have to wait till first week in Dec.

Talking down Vernon seemed off. They said most people threatened him and then show Lee calmly talking Vernon down.

I think they mostly showed the least popular choice in this trailer for a change.
Would love it if they are like...hey we have the release date and it's today;) but not holding my breath. Hoping for the news about a release date to come out today regardless

Err, IIRC that actually did happen once in the last three years. I just can't recall what franchise or episode.

That is exactly what I'm thinking to Vain;)

I was amazed how low the numbers were for talking Vernon down, considering how well threatening Brenda worked.

I think there may be a serious health risk to releasing the last episode with no warning - international brain aneurysms.

Yes, I also thought it was weird. As far as I remember, it was the other way around, and I don't see why it would have changed... huh.

I'm pretty sure they do that when they know the month but not the day. They just put the last day of the month.

At the time, I'm compiling an FAQ about episodic gaming for Fables... based on experiences with desperately needed info during The Walking Dead. Like, things I've repeated at least 30 times during the last five months. How's the following paragraph sound?
If you spot Fables episode release dates on sites like wikipedia, Fables wikia, IGN, gamestop, etc., possibly weeks or even months in advance, just forget about them; these are just rough estimates, placeholder dates or even wishful thinking! Don't believe any release date until confirmed by Telltale officials (the blog or in some rare cases partner sites), and don't believe any release date unless it is, at the time of announcement, less than five work days in the future. Yup, it's THAT nerve-wracking.

YouTubers & @Pewdie -You've done an AMAZING job filming yourselves all season for #TheWalkingDead. Are your cameras ready for the finale?

it might be coming in a few days ^^

Well, your paragraph sounds great. Unfortunately, some people will never bother to read it, or won't believe that you know what you're talking about when you are contradicting something that they want to believe. In the time I've been on the forums, I've seen you try to get this message across over and over, and make no impact on some people. I hope that situation improves.

Sure it will. I will breed me an army of loyal, completely polite and never tiring FAQ quoting community members. It will be glorious. :D

I know I'm probably the worst grumpy gamer on this forum but...

Why did they choose to release the episodes this way? It's the best way to upset their custommers..

People are buying the game, which is good for TT. Why the hell are they treating them like junkies wondering when will they get the next dose?

    Why not give dates?

Why not give frequent follow up info?

    An answer would be nice.

People are paying.I believe they deserve better treatment.

I'm still working at the Fables FAQ paragraph detailing (well, as much as I have knowledge of it) why fixed release dates can't be given (mainly because Telltale only knows them some hours before they announce them). But I do have an answer ready for the second part, and it goes like this.
    1.5.4) I don’t like all these uncertainties!

The fun between episodes is the community discussion, the mutual waiting, possible exchanges with the developers and maybe even a bit of an influence on future episodes. If that’s just not your cup of tea, if you just want to play a complete game, it’s absolutely not a bad thing to wait for the Season to finish before you buy. Even a few of Telltale’s greatest fans wait for all episodes of a Season to come out before they start playing. That’s OK!

English is not my first language. Sorry. I doubt you could write a post in french without mispelling a word, Gudmoore.

Thanks for the decent answer, Vain..Appreciated.

But when you say that TT themselves, don't know the release date.....mehh.

    They should know.

Whatsup, guys? Everything is fine around here? :D

Things are super fine here! Only 18 more days to go in November, so even the super impatient only have a little while longer to wait.

In PC only times, release dates were given an inch earlier. Like, nine days in advance. But now that the console certification processes are part of the plan, they can only ever react with the shortest notice. There's just too much black box in there for precise release dates. What if the certification effectively fails and Telltale has to change things? That could mean another week on the spot.

Thanks for the appreciation. I will really try hard to make this FAQ concise and understandable for Fables and whatever is to come afterwards. When new people come aboard the Telltale train with every new franchise, one thing that really bothers me is that they can't really know how this works, because a detailed description is missing. But they SHOULD know, and they should know BEFORE they buy. About the uncertainties of the schedule or about the PSN EU and iOS lag. This shouldn't be just an afterthought, they_should_know.

(accidentally closing with the same words as you did, with a completely different meaning :D )

I wait with anticipation for the end of this great story.

However, because I am very important, please do not release the game on Wednesday (when my new job starts and when I *should* be going to the gym). I know that Telltale understand my needs are the most important so, just a heads up guys, I'm posting my schedule for the remainder of this week so you'll know when the release date is most likely:

Tuesday 13th - Work, followed by lurking on this forum waiting for episode 5 to be released

Wednesday 14th - Place where I work opens for the first time to the public (holy crap), followed by lurking on this forum waiting for episode 5 to be released (even though I *should* be going to the gym...)

Thursday 15th - Work, followed by lurking on this forum waiting for episode 5 to be released

Friday 16th - Work, followed by a trip to see my folks, followed by lurking on this forum waiting for episode 5 to be released

    :D

Some tongue-in-cheek may have been applied to any part or all of this post.

I am so excited about the prospect of episode 5. I know there'll be that sense of loss (I bought Back to the Future to fill the Telltale void, having played Sam and Max and Monkey Island before - must say, not as bothered about Back to the Future as I thought I would be) afterwards so part of me doesn't want to rush it. But still - I will squeal like a 4 year old girl upon its release.

Hey vain, i like what you have written. You might want to warn newcomers to expect little to no comunnication from telltale when it comes to release dates, how episodes are going to be delayed, and in general the shitty customer service they can expect from telltale. If people know what they are getting into, then maybe some that would always complain, will decide to go elsewhere.
  • edited November 2012
I will say that the game (Episode 5) it's already finished and Telltale are letting to play it some journalists from IGN and other sites before releasing it.

Telltale retwitted some opinions from this people after playing Episode 5. I hope today they reveal the release date.

I think it could release this week. especially since we are not usually given a release date 4-7 days in advance assuming the do announce this week. Friday I'll bet is the latest it will come and I'm just hoping that my hope will see us through, cause next week is gonna be bad enough without having to play a dark twd game:p

Well, at least Sean expects the "hard date" this week. If the release also is this week remains to be seen. I still have high hopes for my guessing victory this time. ;)

yeah I'm hoping either you or me;) but The buzz is killing me, can't I test it out. I dont give an F about bugs which im sure are nearly long gone by now:p just wanna play it. oh well have waited since before april for this game so a lil more time won't kill me...

But it definitely puts those around me at risk:p

The Xbox Wednesday release paradigm pretty much shifts the release info in that pattern, it's true. Don't rule out anything yet... but you might be on to something still.

I hope I'm wrong to be honest! The earlier the release the less time I have to spend stalking the forums and twitter feed for some sort of hint. The clues are killing me.
But yeah that is where my whole idea came from.

Next week might be tricky because it's Thanksgiving on Thursday and most companies have off on that Wednesday and Friday as well.

I was considering one thing. In the last twitter message we got, TTG did say Very soon... not Very very soon.

    History says that;
Very soon = about a week (give and take)
Very very soon = after this weekend or something like that.
VERY VERY soon = proberly first thing tomorrow or even later today:)

So maybe we have to wait onto next week:(

What do you thing of my TTG barometer?
