I guess that's a good point (although dead peoples hair does grow for a few days after death ew, but only a few days after XD) I still liked the idea of a zombie hair salon
Fun fact, the hair growth after death thing is just an illusion caused by the skin dehydrating and shrinking.
Part black, part asian. Dad is black, Mother is asian.
As for how her mother had that hair, we have these little things called "hair salons" where people can go to have their hair put into all sorts of styles they would never accomplish naturally.
She is well educated little girl, one of her parents was a Doctor, they taught her to speak properly.
I don't mean slang talk, it's just the tone of the voice can edge your image of someone you've heard but not seen in certain directions. I don't really know how to explain it anyway.
Glad i looked at this thread. I never paid much attention to the photo actually, but i did notice her father was clearly Black. I swore her mom was Asian, until i saw the close up here. But I always knew Clem was black...just had a little Asian in her. Glad that i got all that cleared up. Plus she looked like once of my childhood friends who was Filipino and Black...but everyone though she was Spanish lol. But that aside this is some good confirmation, her hair was a dead giveaway also.
But for the sake of sanity lets all pretend that Clem is white, you know what happen last time a character was thought to be white actually turned out to be a negro. Hunger Games anyone?
You beat me to it.
There was quite the poopstorm when Rue (I think that's her name?) turned out to be a cute little black guy instead of a cute little white girl. SPOILER ALERT: she dies, and it's sad either way.
derp: someone in the act or lack of writing, reading, spelling, "messing up", or being "complete idiot" when doing certain tasks.
this word is sometimes referred to : stupid, silly, annoying, etc.
^that
and to hopefully quell the confusion, sometimes black people have very, verrrry light skinned children. It happens. Black people come in all shades, sometimes veering on borderline white looking(and you don't even have to be "mixed" to look like this either), my mother being a perfect example as she has the same skin tone as clem's mom and is full on black.
As far as the voice goes, that's completely subjective. clem's voice actor is a white woman, however any one can sound a certain way, it just depends on the environment they grow up in. I know plenty of black people that sound "white" i guess, myself included, and its solely because the people they were around most of their just sounded that way. That'd be like wondering why a country sounding person has that particular accent. maybe its because that's the way their family sounded?
Played the game again last night, and saw the family photo, there is no way in hell her mother is asian. She looks like she is of a mixed race, probably black and white.
Have yet to see an ethnic group in Asia that resemble African-Americans. You say potato, I say 'sure, alright'.
south asian people look sort of African, i have used this person as an example in another thread debating christa's ethnicity but this is Konnie Huq an english TV presenter and she is from Bangladesh
this is the whitest black guy lol ahh kid and play that takes me back
Oh, Kid.
me thinks the TTG executives didn't make clem dark skinned, because [some] people wouldn't be very receptive to that imagery
Replaced a word, but I think you have a point, which is sad.

Very little, but I get the point you're making.
Maybe her parents are a mix of everything, therefore Clementine has the blood of all races in herself.
Woho, now everyone are satisfied.
Best post thus far. That way, those misinformed folks who go, "Hmm, I want to like her but she isn't [whatever]" won't have to!
But seriously, she's probably the most adorable fictional kid I've seen in a video game, at least.
Indians can can have really a dark complexion as well...
I'd clearly go with African American on Clem's family though, also keeping in mind that we are trying to interpret from a comic style there.
I'll give you that one. She looks like she could be family.
I wondered what ethnicity Katjaa and Omid were, as well. Wikia says Belgian and Persian. I really liked Katjaa's accent but couldn't place what it was, exactly.

I heard her voice.
I still don't know what a "African-American" sounds like.
Yeah, she doesn't have an African accent (I've met a white African-American before )
Nitpicking aside, not all black people sound the same, just as not all white people sound the same.
Her parents looked black to me. That's why Hershel took Clementine as Lee's duaghter, I'd imagine.
She is well educated little girl, one of her parents was a Doctor, they taught her to speak properly.
*sigh*
Her mom doesn't look asian.

What exactly is a "derp"?
I see all of the "cool kids" using it these days.....
derp (i use it a lot)

i really shouldn't even have to explain this -_-
Ah ok, everything makes sense now.
Thank you, I was genuinely curious about this. Seen it a lot on this board and others and had zero idea what the hell it meant.
I am pretty sure and nothing but the dev. can make my think something else!
Not at all. I'm positive she isn't.
If there's a slim chance I'm wrong, Diane is the most African-American looking Asian I've ever seen.
lol!

even still, why wasn't clem slightly darker? she's 1 shade darker than kenny and molly
hell, christa is black as well but they gave her hair that's not her natural texture.
this is the whitest black guy lol ahh kid and play that takes me back

Yes, I thought I saw a bit of Scottish in her, I think you may be onto something.
Ye gods!
Oh, Kid.

I always figured she was Russian, and he was some type of middle eastern.
I am Blasian myself and Clem's mom strongly resembles my mother and other relatives.
Just look at how people reacted to Rue in the Hunger Games movies.
Anyhow, I think Nateyou drew Clem pretty well with a more "realistic" touch:

However, Kenny looks completely cartoony. Then again, he does remind me of-a Luigi, numberr one!

Sadly, I think you're right. People are much, much less receptive to dark skin females than dark skin males.
The only thing giving away her "blackness" is her hair, which is very Afro-textured.
