Remember when everybody called Chuck a pedophile-in-waiting just because he was an older man who shared candy? Yeeaahh. Hopefully if this ISN'T a hoax Telltale will further show that you shouldn't always judge a book by its cover.

probably just placeholders still think it's Christa and Omid.

I don't remember anyone calling Chuck a pedophile. I remember people liking him and being majorly pissed when he died. Some people might have, but saying everyone did is an exaggeration.

These dudes, though. They look like pedophiles.

I believe so as well. Leaving their fate ambiguous, the way one of them is tall and thin (Christa) whilst one is shorter, trailing behind and a little chunkier (Omid) and how Christa believes going into the country is the best idea, but also how they seem to stop as soon as they spot Clem (a child sized figure) in the distance.

Those guys do a look a little creepy, but imagine seeing Kenny and Doug like that before S1 came out. A lot of people wouldn't like the look of them and they both ended up playing a big part in the first season (depending on how you play). Lee is another example. It has nothing to do with his appearance, but a history professor in his late-30s who busts up his leg a few minutes into the game doesn't sound like a lead character in a zombie game, and he was an excellent character.

Awesome share man, thanks for this.Even if they are placeholder (which I dont think is true) Its nice to have atleast something to discuss till next year.

Didn't know that pedophiles have a certain look about them... :sigh:

It's funny how people retort to stuff such as pedophile as soon as a new male character is brought into the scene.No-one said that Lily or Carley are possibly pedophiles and rescued Lee and group infront of the drugstore just to get their hands on Duck.

"How pedophiles look like: like a pedophile."
    Screw logic anyway...

Of course it is. If we gonna play one of those characters, the most people here will do not like it because of a few reasons, for example:

    - They seem to be not very good looking. Neither Rick nor Lee were unattractive!
    - They are not Lee!
    - They are seemingly no badasses!

They were deliberately genericized figures so that someone couldn't rip the 3D assets and definitively declare "IT WAS [X CHARACTERS] AFTER ALL!"

We knew people would do 3D screen dumps and zoom in, and we wanted that to be left a mystery even if people try to cheat. If you look at it with textures and lighting turned on, they are painted completely black, too, with no facial features or anything.

I feel like you have to think about this like a really wide shot in a film that was shot by the second unit team. You COULD zoom really close in to a 70mm film still and say "hey, that's not Tom Cruise, it was an extra!!" but what would the point of that be?

    So, it could be ANYONE?

Given how much people are speculating, why would we want to answer definitively who it is now!
  • edited December 2012
Does Telltale even have a definitive answer to who it is, or do they just leave it open to be able to determine the story later???

    Bwahaha.

Now all I can see is Lee questioning Clem about the candy. :p

Lee: "Does it taste okay? No funny aftertaste?"

    Clem (confused): "No..."

Guys, i think TT is just messing with us, they probably knew about this program so they kinda trolled us. At least, i hope. If u have to play like them. I am gonna give up on hope for TT.

    Thanks for sharing though.

Maybe its just two walkers, telltale love to fuck with you, take every single episode so far. I hope it is omid and christa, as theyd make a good momy and dady for clem, but i doubt it, since they like to fuck wiv us, and it looks like two guys anyway, maybe one of them is the next hero of the story . . .
  • edited January 2013
The two figures are supposed to be Doug and Ben, but seeing as they are both dead, they are most likely just place holders.
In the grand scheme of things, it was probably Omid and Christa. Lee told them to meet them on the outskirts of town, and there they are, on the outskirts. It wasn't two lone walkers, that's for sure. So ether way, its two survivors.

It's Negan! Fat figure I mean. lol RUN CLEMENTINE!

Actually, that's not the Doug and Ben model. If it were, you would see both of their hair. The hair is part of both of their models, and in the pic you can see that the tall one has no hair and the short one has different hair from Doug. The placeholders in the image are walkers. Also, the clothes are different.

Maybe it's a fake? I really hope so, because I don't like that guys, maybe they are bandits, fat guy looks like Negan!

Why hasn't anybody extracted the scene with Kenny's "death" to put this to rest at weather or not he's dead?

Since it's always off-screen i don't think they would have made animations of him being eaten. I assume his character model walks out of view then stands there for a while and de-spawns, or however animation works(i have no clue).

Telltale has said that making death scenes for Lee is expensive, so it wouldn't make much sense to make a scene like that for Kenny that players wouldn't even see.

Your Lee told them that. Mine said to meet up by the train seeing how the horde had already passed through that area. Regardless of what you say, the countryside ending is always the same.

Nice job and interesting screen. Could be possible that this are some minore character. So chill out guys, I don't think so that one of them is the main char. We will play a woman, you will see, for sure. I bet my thumb for this. :D

How did you get those scenes? What program did you use?
  • edited January 2013
Melissa Hutchson in her interview (Gamer Chat Weekly Episode 26) said that Clementine can try to contact with them (strangers in the far), or run away, or try to shoot them. It will depend what Lee has said to her in the ending of season 1
  • edited January 2013
    Noo! It cannot be!

Hopefully those are just placement models used to be "shadowy figures."

And Zev Zev thanks for that info!

Finished the game yesterday, and last night I saw in my dream who they were. Dunno if anyone else have made same conclusion, and more I think it, more confident I am that it is so.

    They are:
Lees parents. They were thrown on street, but they weren't turned, so they must still been alive.
Lees dad is tall and bald, and mom shorter and more meaty (didint check that, just came from my memory^^, could be wrong lol)

edit. Moved to the wright thread :P

Lee's parents? No. When Lilly's group originaly took over the pharmacy, she said "We found the bodies of the people who owned the place."

    They're dead.

That means we won't play as her since she's doing what Lee told her...

But I have one big question, will Dave Fennoy still collaborate with Telltale Games in season 2? Because if he will then Lee might be very well alive and not dead.

I don't know. In this interview, Melissa said very little about the second season, only what I have already said about Clem.

Look like placeholders honestly, although the second bald looking guy walks a lot like Ben, weird. First guy reminds me of Doug a bit.
  • Generic placeholders from TT developers. And yes, they do use Doug's and Ben's character models. Talk about reincarnation.
    Here and here.

Guy to the right's got a bone sticking out of his arm.

Unless some middle-aged man is casually walking beside a walker, these are only default models.
