This is going to be so cool :) But why Stuttgart? Not that I don't appreciate getting an episode playing in germany, but every vampire related story I know is taking place a bit more in the east.

The trailer shows whats happening when one translates english-german and back again ;)

The bad translation was intentional, see this post by Brendan.

I guessed so. It must be some sort of stylistic device, well done

Yay! I'm hoping this means the return of the "DDR" style dancing minigame from the cancelled game. :D

Popped in to say that I'm loving the 203 trailer, just watched it. Very funny.
I think I'll give this episode a bigger try than I did 202 after the disappointment of 201 (though I loved the Helsinki plaque :) )

The Zombie / Vampyre models weren't that cool but Max dance moves and the cepia intro was magnificent.

I still wish the prod values and texture/model quality was higher.

Ok I just re-watched it. I'm not lying when I'm saying that the 203 trailer is the first thing out of the Telltale S&M franchise I've found genuinely hilarious, I mean laugh out loud funny. The German stuff is most radical, and the dance section with Sam's pistol moves and Max raving is just too funny to look at without smiling.

Good job, so far I can see why Jake said he thinks the next three are the most solid stuff Telltale has yet produced. :)

The slo-mo part is also just genius. Awesome.

Am I really the only one that was seriously put off by the vampire/eurothrash guy? I mean come on! The trailer starts out wonderfully with it's Nosferatu theme and subpar translation. It has Sam, it has Max, it has zombies, it has vampires. I'm in a state of total blissful euphoric glee.

    Enter sound.

No. No. No. No... No. :(

Telltale, my hopes were pretty high set on this episode. Really, it should be impossible to fail with these listed ingredients. Please prove my worries wrong. Please, please, make sure this new character is funnier than he seems from the little we see of him in the trailer.

Other than that you're doing a swell job. :p

    Eurogamer already reviewed the game.

Sounds good to me, since I play the games mainly for the humor. I'm a bit worried about the length, though.

Let's assume this was made on purpose then i ask myself for whom? English speaking persons don't get it and as a german speaking person i have to say that i didn't find it funny either as it just was another translation with some faults......haha...

By the way you know that you can also enter umlauts on keyboards without such keys by using unicode or google for umlauts and copy&paste them?

I hear that maybe you weren't a big fan of the title cards in a joke trailer we put out for a video game? Let's move on from this.

taumel, I found the title cards really funny. :)

Eurogamer does a great job in echoing a lot of my thoughts about various games in their review. Out of the big game sites, I have most respect for it.

Yep, their reviews give me a good sense of what to expect from a game, and they are well-written and entertaining to boot.

wow... just finished the episode, it made up for a lot... and even made up for all of 202's short comings

some good puzzles, a decent length, lots of goofy things you have to deal with, and just as many plot turns...

im actually impressed with this one, which is saying a lot after how much i bad mouthed 202... but for those of you who hate re-occuring locations, heh... (thats all im saying for the moment)

ill start a hate it or love it thread tomorrow as to avoid spoilers, but for the moment ll i have to say is... my I.Q. must have dropped 10 points from playing this episode, lol

This one was great, despite all the backtracking. Some of the jokes and references almost had me on the floor. (
And something happens near the end that many of you have been wanting... ;)

I think Brendan would be offended at being confused with me. I don't have his commanding presence or joie de vivre.

Nope, always during our office hours on the release day (in our time zone, which is GMT -8)

Just beat it. I can't wait for the next episode, especially if what I think is going to happen happens. And it's about time.
  • edited February 2008
Well now you might as well tell us what you think happens :)

To be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure what to expect, but I have a feeling that Flint will be very important in the next episode, which is awesome. I also have the feeling that there'll be some crazy new location, either back in time or in space (which I doubt since it was sorta already done last season)... Or crazier.

Chariots of the Dogs makes me think of either the Romans or strange paranormal something (Chariots of the Gods), the latter being much more appropriate for Bosco. A Mystery Vortex-like location would be really neat, now that I think about it.

Either way, I'm glad Flint's finally getting (or so I think) a big role. Bosco too.

Oh, and this isn't really a spoiler, but the typewriter ribbon is the best item in the series.

Update from Telltale's offices: It is 9pm (21:00) on Tuesday night, and everyone has gone home for the evening except Brendan and me. Again, that's late in the evening on Tuesday night, the night before the game comes out. The other people who work here during the day are at home for the night, and the game comes out on Wednesday, the 13th of February -- tomorrow -- so there are probably at least twelve hours until we release the game on the site.

You guys work late. What time do you usually start?... or is it more of a come in whenever as long as you get your work done?

Tough decision to make, paper or Sam & Max.

Sam & Max is still many hours away, so I'd recommend the paper!

For the last two episodes the games have gone up around 6pm GMT, fellow UKers.

Which is an improvement over last season, where the episodes came out around 10-11(1-3 or 4), but later it ended up around 8-9(4 to 5 or 6) I seem to remember. 6-7 pm is much better for me, because then I don't have to sit up all night to finish the episode and risk oversleeping for school the next day :o (yes, I skiped some fridays last season because of sam & max ;) - I'm just that curious).

Oh well, before we know it, we'll be back, counting the days until the next release(I won't, this season, I'm too busy for that, but the rest of you hardcore fans probably will).

Oh hey, cool, I've got a paper to write as well (assuming this was not referring to buying a newspaper), so I'll have something lovely to look forward to when I'm done with that. I'll see episode 203 as my reward then. :D
