Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney thread
Well has anyone else played this great point and click series for DS? I recently got the IPad HD Trilogy that came out on the app store and since the game plays a bit like a point and click game I was wondering if anyone else have played the great series. So far I've only gotten to case 5 on the first Phoenix Wright but if i had to pick a favourite for the first game it would ether be Turnabout Sisters or Turnabout Goodbyes. Anyway so what is everyone's thoughts on the series?

If you have an iOS device, you can buy the first game perfectly emulated, or the whole original trilogy remade in HD. The remake isn't flawless (the most frustrating element is not being able to double-tap to speed through dialog as it appears) but it looks lovely.
The first 3 games are also available for download on WiiWare.
The series is definitely worth playing if you enjoy game narrative and clever puzzles, which presumably you do. The only real recurring downside, outside of a few "meh" chapters, are the moments when you've figured out something well before the playable character has, so you have to follow a trail of what you know to be red herrings for a bit before the game lets you present the real answer. It's not that bad though if you keep your mind in the story. I love it and am quite exited for the next game.
I can not order anything from Amazon.com. I have no credit card.
And even if I could I have no idea if a NTSC version of a game will work in my PAL 3DS XL.
(I have a few US carts that work fine on my 3DS)
3DS games however, are NOT.
On another note is Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney ever coming out anywhere else other than Japan?
On another note anyone wanna tell me what they would rate Justice for All? I finished the first case where
@der_ketzer: I bought the first few games on eBay since I couldn't find them at a reasonable price in stores anywhere either. Some eBay sellers accept PayPal, if that's what you're using.

Maybe they are just not showing the stuff that is responsible for the rating.
The very first scene I remember from an AA game was a girl being beaten to death by a small clock. I could easily see this series getting M now that it can do cutscenes beyond a few screens.
Defending a whale is the logical extrapolation of interrogating a parrot, I suppose. I figure a DLC case has to be of relatively little consequence to avoid having much impact on the game's plot one way or the other, and this would seem to fit the bill.

I think it's nice to know the DLC is coming to the US.
I don't like seeing a girl with a mustache like that
Sorry I never realised there was a thread like that.
We know Pearl is in definitely no word about Maya though
Also Ema won't be in it I'm sure as they have a new detective called Bobby Fulbright.
It's not quite the same as leaving out Professor Layton's London Life in Europe because they can't be bothered to translate the text into all the different languages (still narked about that).
I had actually forgotten about that. Thanks for reminding me!
I'm pissed off about that as well. Would have loved to play a Professor Layton RPG but of course they didn't bother to put it in Europe, its even more annoying considering the name of the RPG is Professor Layton's London Life!
But yeah, I'm pretty excited about Dual Destinies, but I hated Apollo Justice. I had to force myself to play it. Hopefully the new one will be more like the original trilogy.
Also, I wish they'd port the HD trilogy over to android.
