Just got back into the series with the second game(already played the first) question. Is it me or is the logic in the second game a bit bull? Like yeah the first one had you interrogate the parrot, but that at least wound up making some sense later on in a story sense, but gameplay wise I normally didn't have to deal with it, here however multiple times I noticed clear contradictions but got penalized for pointing them out for no reason aside from "The devs didn't want me to" or "that's technically right but there's another way to show that so you are wrong and get penalized", and it really is throwing me off on enjoying this game.
The one thing you need to keep in mind with the Phoenix Wright series is that, while you are playing the game, you are not involved in the game at all. You can figure out what's going on steps in advance, but Phoenix needs to figure this out for himself.
I found with the second game, I would figure out the contradiction that the game would want, but then have no idea how to put it across. (I.e. the specific piece of testimony to object to, or the exact piece of evidence to use.).
But I think the second game is still my favourite of the lot. That last case is awesome.

This. It seems the hard part of the second game was merely guessing which bit of evidence was required to say something multiple bits of evidence could do, and then get punished because you guessed wrong. I had to replay a good chunk of the final chapter because
I got the bad ending because I was trying to show de killer that the actor was betraying him with the footage, and I picked the camera he used instead of the VHS tape and instead of getting any feedback about if I was close, I was just told "LOL BAD ENDING DESPITE BEING TECHNICALLY CORRECT BYE!"
Dual Destinies will have voice-acted cutscenes and some voiced game sections, similar to the Layton games and other semi-voiced games... it's pretty common in JRPGs too
I think the odds of a localized release of the Phoenix Wright movie are low, the odds of an English dub are even lower, and the odds of an English dub using the cast from a game that wasn't out when the movie came out are really, really low. But there's no hurry to watch it, I suppose, so you can continue to wait if you want. I'm just happy that the fan subtitles I found were really consistent with the character names from the localized games.
On the topic of the Phoenix Wright movie. Has anyone ever seen the Professor Layton movie called The Enternal Diva? I think it was pretty good and it was dubbed with the voice cast we know from the games when it comes out here. This is one of the reasons why it would be nice to get the voice cast for Phoenix Wright to dub the movie
I know this might seem a little off topic but i thought i should post this here since Layton is in a crossover with Phoenix and they both have movies that were from Japan.

Actually, the film has been released in Germany, and Australia too, I think. But only in limited quantities.
Did I tell you guys about my Phoenix Wright winamp skins? I know nobody uses winamp anymore, but I had an unfinished Apollo Justice one lying around that I was finally inspired to finish, and that got me on enough of a roll to make an Edgeworth one too. Check them out if you feel like it.
I still use Winamp! I just like how it seems to be capable of playing everything. Anyway, now I've just got to pick one of those skins. (Fun Fact™: those pictures are links)
The english demo for Dual Destinies is available on eShop now in at least North America, maybe even Europe and Australia. All I can say about it is that I'm seriously reconsidering my policy on "no large purchases on eShop until they do a massive overhaul of their digital infrastructure".
Well I'm not even finished Justice for All (On the IPad HD Trilogy) despite being on Big Top Turnabout for months .
Played the demo of Duel Destinies and enjoyed it a lot. It was really short though (I liked the references to it being a demo, The Judge's ''Well 10 minutes to wrap this case up would be great as I hear there isn't much time in an demo'' was funny). Nice to see Apollo as well. Personally though I really hope they have Maya in it. Its just weird to have an Ace Attorney game that's meant to be bringing back all these characters in the one place and not include Maya. We even see a teenage Pearl but no hint to if Gumshoe or Maya will make a return? At least we know Edgeworth will make his return again.
Alrighty, I got it and plowed through in a weekend. Disappointed in the lack of three-day trials as well as the fact that 4 and 5 were functionally the same case, but otherwise it was very impressive.
Heck yeah, we really should too with that new prequel being made by Shu Takumi. Hopefully it'll get localised but I don't really see it happening this time. :(

Great Series. One of Capcoms best Franchises besides Resi and Darkstalkers. Have the First Game on DS and the others on a DS Flashcard, cause hard to find now. ;)
And the 5 Mangas. There's also a Miles Edgeworth Series of them.

The third game didn't have thus issue as much from what I recall. But I really can't remember much about it other than coffee to the face.
That's a good thing, I barley remember it happening in AA1 as well. I'll probably get to AA3 eventually, $10 on wiiware definitely is a good deal.
I'm also really glad that PLvsPW is being localized because it'll be nice to have Maya as a companion again
Dual Destinies is going to have voice acting? I heard it would have some voice acting, but not much.

I have other skins, if you like: http://www.winamp.com/user/details/370206
That is all.

English trailer! Nick's voice is just okay.
Those anime cutscenes look so much better without the 3D. In 3D... they look more like magic eye paintings than real 3D.
The demo is impressively short, not even a whole case. Ah well.
