So I have to wonder... which actor was doing the Sam Jackson impression, because one of the prisoners in the bus sounded, to me, a lot like Sam Jackson.

I dunno, I kinda liked him, at least during my playthrough. He was definitely a little on the ... weird side, though. I was completely taken aback by the whole 'on a scale of 1-10' thing though, geez.

I chose to leave him at the end if only because it was the morally right decision in my opinion, not because I thought he was serious about it. (I was very shocked by the gunshots I heard after - was there a way to prevent him from killing them altogether?)
You couldn't prevent him from killing the old couple because that scene is set before Shel's scene and in that scene she see's the blood stains and can discuss her curiosity about what happened with Stephanie. I played Shel's story before Russells so I knew they were going to die but I didn't want Russell to have anything to do with it so I had him walk off. I never trusted that guy when he picked me up. I think I told him to fuck off. When he put my life in danger when a female walker nearly grabbed Russell because I refused to tell him about the women at the camp that was the last straw. When he gave me his gun to cover him I drew on him and tried to shoot him. I couldn't kill him because he needed to be alive to kill the old couple to leave the blood stains Shel see's when she goes to the gas stop afterwards.

I drew on Nate too, but he simply grabbed the gun away :/ Darn game; I knew he was trouble the moment I saw him.

I shot the convicted rapist and had planned to since the first details of the dlc were announced because I feared he would try it on with Clem in season 2 if he made it, so I blew off his leg just to make sure.

I enjoyed the dlc. I would have liked to of played the characters stories in chronological order though so I could have left a mark on the world so to speak. I saw a post saying that someone was able to kill a walker on Russell's chapter so Bonnie didn't get attacked. I played vince's story first then,Shel,Russell, Bonnie and Wyatt.

At Russels story when I saw Carley on the road It felt so heartbreaking since Carley was my favourite "Side" character. By the way I wish they add more references (thats how i call it) to the full game.

Guess you are slow, it's people in jail thats really didn't do anything.

You got a dark turn o' mind.

    Indeed.

I'll admit I was sort of worried about the possibility of him trying something on someone (not necessarily Clementine), but...Danny was also the one who demanded the guards intervene in the fight, and I was impressed with how quickly he talked the jumpy guard down and defused the situation.

Justin didn't do squat except panic and throw up. I didn't want to shoot either of them (especially since I'd basically made them both Vince's bros), but sorry Justin. You are the weakest link, goodbye!
  • edited July 2013
Agreed, I felt Danny was more useful then Justin.

Also I boasted so he knew not to fuck with me :D

Playing 400 was...weird. Switching from one character to another was a little surreal. I started to feel like the alien parasite from THE HIDDEN, jumping from body to body. :o

But after I got into the game's groove, I had a blast. None of the characters are up to Lee's level, TBH, but that's probably because we only had fifteen minutes to get to know each of them. I only have two real gripes.

The first is Vince's decision to stay behind at camp if you chose to save Danny. Regardless of what you made each survivor do, their behaviour in the epilogue always followed on how you had them respond to their predicaments...except Vince's. (Is staying behind ALONE in a camp way out in the countryside really his idea of "sticking together?") When the game basically tells me the only way to bring Vince along to Tavia's community is to save the white-collar criminal instead of the "lower class" criminal, well...I'm not sure what to make of that.

Also, Bonnie accidentally murdering Dee felt a little...cheap to me. It was one of the few times in the game where I felt like I was being bullied into doing something awful (and let's face it, Dee's mutilated face is pretty damn awful).

In one playthrough, I didn't lash out at Dee, just to see what would happen. She smacks me with her flashlight, after which I got a "You Are Dead" screen. So I guess Dee was secretly plotting to kill Bonnie all along? That would make me feel a little better about Dee's death, even if it isn't Telltale's intent. ;)

Vince is sitting in the bus when a cop car is driving by and if you also take note that they are going the same direction to the jail. you can also take note that vince commits the crime right near lees parents store. so i was just wondering if that was acctually lee in the police car

I had no idea that my choices were actually going to effect something in the end, so I didn't purposely make every character good, haha. My boyfriend watched me play and once we realized that the things we'd done were going to have actual consequence we're like, shit bro.

But we still managed to get Bonnie, Wyatt, and Russell to go. It's impossible to not get Bonnie though, and all you have to say is the friends/family thing for Wyatt and Russell.

Also I feel cheated with Vince. I would have chosen to break the rapist's ankle but honestly I didn't know what I was choosing or doing when the choice came up, and I'm one of those "never look back" kind of players. But I'm totally to blame for Shel's choices, as I agreed with killing the guy and killed Stephanie. It seemed like something the comic would attest to.

But I had a lot of fun and will definitely play it a few more times on my other saves. Keeping my original on my original save though, of course.

    Just finished the episode....

    ....

...well,shit,I don't know what people are talking about, but the DLC was simply brilliant.
Personally,it went completely above any of expectations.Wasen't expecting such a serious story. The choices impacted everything more then in any episode so far, thus at least to me the story feels much more flexible. And honestly it was certainly a nice break from having Lee and Clementine being the center of attention all the time.
According to IGN,the wrap-up was bad.Fine,it did not explain completely how the characters grouped up in the end,but we can assume how it went.Had no technical hiccups, and totally worth the hype. :)

Wow, I think I screwed up bad. Only Bonnie went with Tavia. But are we really sure that its the best option:confused:, I mean how well did other settlements in The Walking Dead really turn out. I just wonder how season two will be affected by 400 Days' outcome. Anyway these were my results:

Vince: shot Justin(the guy who was arrested for a pyramid scheme) and escaped with Danny(the rapist).
Russel: Stood up to Nate and left.
    Bonnie:Lied to Leland.
    Schel(chel?): Killed Stephanie.
Wyatt: Tryed to help the cop but his friend(Eddie I think) drove away.

    Same here!

Are you sure? I saved Carley in my game and it looked like a man in 400 Days...
EDIT: Oh nevermind, I thought you were talking about the zombie laying on the road, not the one that you can see only by hiding as Russell... I didn't hide. :(

I thought the dlc was good, but had some errors in the writing. 'Vince' shooting a conman who seemed like an asshole who didn't care about his victims or anything, over a rapist who seemed 'genuinely' sorry.

'just like a recent news story about an english teacher and his female underage student running of to paris'

but what i feel was a bad move, bad implementation or just bad /lazy design and i'm surprised the play testers didn't spot this or why it wasn't changed, is in wyatts story.

in the car after you scare off nate, eddie parks the car in a 'forest'. I lost the rps game and took the gun with me as i got out the car, fog just covered the screen so all i could see was a 90% grey and 10% of the ground...yeah i know fog covers your view but why not add some tree's? we are in a forest right ?? yet there's this huge clearing. Eventually after what seemed ages i find the cop and chose to rescue him which then takes twice as long to finish in the same boring drab bland area..but with walkers...

maybe it's just me but i feel this was a low point in the game. plus the 'new' control mechanic of mouse and keyboard made it clunky.

bonnie- after our chat with leeland, what is the point in allowing us to move sideways when there is no path or need to do so as all it does is slow down or stop bonnie and she looks like she's dancing, all we have to do is run forward ok maybe to avoid the gun shots but we still get shot when we trip over... so seems pointless and looks/feels clunky.. then there's the 'corn field' it seems to be another clunky way of moving around it may supposed to be scary and not really having much idea where to go other than avoid the torches...but nope didn't feel anything other than annoyance after the 4th time i got caught by roman and considering how roman and steph operate it seems odd how dee got past them..

shell- why does shells group 'kill' randoms but then complain about doing having to do bad stuff? we find out they are the ones after bonnie but after 400 days shell n becca are now pals ? ? well ok so shell and becca stayed in when roman and steph went out looking and the idea of vernon just taking the boat and leaving the rest of them seems a copout.

    other wise good dlc :o

So what was everyone's FIRST play through time line?? (sorry if this has already been discussed)....

    Mine was this:

    1st - Bonnie
    2nd - Wyatt
3rd - Russell (most fun to play through)
    4th - Shel
    5th - Vince

And now that I know the sequence of the days, I'm gonna play my second play through in order of character days. I still have my 3rd save option open to playing the entire season through again, may save that until right before season 2.

I was wondering the same thing at that time, seeing it was 2 days into the whole people turning into Zombies. It kinda looked like early evening when things went crazy on that bus, so I was guessing that Lee was probably just making it to Clems house at that time.

I went through in chronological order. I got the order from the TWD wikia and just followed that. Maybe cheating, but eh. I think playing it chronologically was the right choice for me. If only because I enjoyed all the "OMG, that was--!" moments I kept having, like the moment I realized the guy who picked up Russell was the same guy who attacked Wyatt.

Admittedly, I have been extremely disappointed by this DLC. The absolute miracle that was season 1 was due to the emotions I felt for the characters. The gameplay itself was rather meh. In this DLC, I had absolutely zero emotional link with anyone, since the time you could share with them was so short. Eventually I was left with that bland gameplay alone, and not much else. So, disappointment.

That said, after I witnessed what the designers could do with episode one, I have to say that I still absolutely trust them for episode 2.

When I try with Russell sneak behind the old man with the rifle I didn't managed to move. It looks like that you must click the left mouse button but Russell didn't move at all. The time was over.

Please, Telltale, when you are going to explain new movements about the interface GIVE MORE TIME to do that action. DON'T introduce it in a time limited scenario, thanks.

And in Wyatt's story, if Wyatt has to check it out outside looks like something it's missing to tell. I mean, Wyatt it's abandoned surrounded by zombies and NO BULLETS (he has a revolver and he is already shot 6 times) and he survives at the end? He starts to run, the scene cuts suddenly and he survives in a foggy environment BY FOOT. Hard to believe.

Despite this details yeah, I love the DLC and its plot. I've enjoyed it so much.

I recall dialogue at the camp that states Vince rescued Wyatt in that scenario. I guess Vince decided to take a stroll through the park at that moment, or perhaps heard the gunshots.

    *shrug*

Got to say, after the long wait and build up to this, I was left disappointed.
I realise it's only an interim episode while we get the next season, but that wasn't The Walking Dead I remember getting so emotionally involved over.
Personally I don't think they should have had so many characters all at once. It made the episode too short.
Anyway, I just hope that season two is worth the wait.

An interesting note if you save Danny; Russel mentions it is good that Danny died before they met up with Becca and Shel. Bonnie, however, is not mentioned. While, it is helpful Danny mentioned it like that [it shows us that Vince met Russel, at least, before he met Shel and Becca], it means that they must have met Bonnie AFTER Shel and Becca [or Russel doesn't care if Bonnie gets raped, which is out of character, even for Jerk Russel.]

Do we have a canonical order for how the group meets up? Wyatt mentions VINCE saved his life, not Vince and Russel, right? So, that means Vince meets Wyatt. Then, he has to meet Russel so that Danny can die with Russel knowing him BEFORE they meet Shel and Becca, and since Russel doesn't mention Bonnie, Bonnie had to come after?

So, Vince and his companion save Wyatt. They meet Russel after Russel escapes/leaves/abandoned by Nate. Vince's companion dies/leaves (I think he mentions Justin disappears not that he died); they meet Shel and Becca. They then meet Bonnie (and Leland if he came with you, though Leland leaves before Tavia regroups.)

Any argument with that being the order of things? Or -- should this speculation get its own thread?
  • edited July 2013
Yeah you should start a speculation thread about how the group all came together, Zarron. I don't know why Telltale kept all these details so vague, such as Nate's whereabouts and Danny/Justin's death/disappearance. Hopefully these questions will be answered soon

    Vince - Bonnie - Shel - Wyatt - Russell

Although I'd have loved to do: 1. Wyatt 2. Russell 3. Vince 4. Bonnie 5. Shel. I feel that Bonnie and Shel were the most intense scenarios while Vince was quite average. Wyatt and Russell were more about duo dynamics and relationships and they're both about Nate; you have more mixed feelings about him when you do Wyatt > Russell than Russell > Wyatt.

I was wondering...could have been Roman`s group (Shel, maybe Becca,Roman, Stephanie, Boyd, Clive, and Joyce(excluded) the one`s who were following Leeland,Dee and Bonnie in the corn field .... because at the beggining of Shel`s story we can see Stephanie counting the flashlights and saying that the missing one was still in the field???

LE:I found out , it`s true..Dee stole from Roman`s group as they were talking about second break in.

Yup. Also at a couple points you hear one of Bonnie's pursuers calling out for "Steph" or "Stephanie," and one of the shadowy figures that go by in the cornfield is most definitely Stephanie.

For all that is holy, please make Shel a main character in future season/s. I loved the dlc otherwise.

I'm so keen on the idea that none of the 400D survivors will not be the two shadows on the hill.
  • edited July 2013
I played Vince, then Wyatt, Bonnie, Shel, and Russell, in that order. I thought the DLC was pretty solid, though nowhere near the emotional level of Season 1. The main characters were well written for the short time that we played them, including several of the supporting ones (like Eddie, the convicts with Vince, and Nate). Unfortunately, the Cancer Survivors weren't as fleshed out as I'd hoped, considering that they were the only Season 1 characters to directly appear.

Seeing how the stories connected to each other was nice, although I wish there had been a bit more of a connection to Season 1 aside from Carley/Doug's body. Going back to my point about the Cancer Survivors, some more information about Crawford or Lee's group could have solved that. Other than those few nitpicks, I really enjoyed it. 8.5/10

I'm starting to think the prisoner you shot the leg off of will become a main antagonist, ending up killing one/several characters, maybe even Vince for revenge. I'm guessing Clive and Joyce will return, even if for a small amount of time. Roman and Nate of course as antagonists, and who knows what other little twists Telltale has in store. They just love to rip at our hearts xD
