The secrets of 400 days dlc. (MAJOR SPOILERS)

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
Ok this will be an on-going topic, because from my five playthroughs of the game, this is what I figured out:

- The man who was chasing Wyatt and Eddie was Nate.

- Dee stole the flashlight and medication from Roman's camp. His group went out in the rain looking for them but failed.

- The black cop in Vince's story that ran away from the bus instead of helping the prisoners is the same cop that was used as a watchdog by Roman, was ran over by Eddie and Wyatt, was seen in Russell's story, and attacked Bonnie in her story.

- If you chose to hide from Nate in Russell's playthrough, you would see Carly's/Doug's corpse depending on who you saved in episode 1.

- The car that is parked at the gas station is Wyatt's and Eddie's.

- The old lady who ate the puppy is the same lady who was shot by Nate.

That's all I have for now, but I will be keeping tabs and editing this when I find more info!

Wait, don't Russell and Bonnie's stories take place on different days?
  • edited July 2013
So Dee's bag only had supplies?! Dammit, i thought it was something shocking and so cool that she NEEDED to keep it a secret, or a surprise...

    - Nate and Russell went to the gas station the SAME DAY that Dee stole the supplies. While Roman's group went to look for Bonnie's group, the old man (possibly Vernon's brother) and the injured old lady (possibly the old man's wife) stayed behind in case they come back. The old man thought Nate was Dee, and assumed he came back to kill them both and take more supplies. While the latter was indeed the scenario, it appeared to Roman that Dee came back and killed them both, and thus believed only ONE break-in occurred that day.

Wait, that can't be right. The blood stains in the diner are from the older couple that Nate shot but they comment that those were there before Roman and his group got there...don't they? Dee was probably the one that stole the medicine and got chased into the cornfield, but I think the scene with Nate and Russell happened well before that, with an entirely different group.

well after russell goes in the car with nate the game skips several days to the date when bonnie's story starts.

But Bonnie says that the bloodstains from when Nate kills the couple were there long before her group got there. It can't be the same day.

Besides, I don't even think there's a time jump. Every other time jump in the episode is accompanied with some text telling us what day we're on now. Not only that, but Nate and Russell are continuing the conversation they had when they first met. I think it's only later in the same evening.

The woman that was eating the puppy was the shot old woman in Russel's tale. She turned and ended up being a watchdog.

play the game again. After Nate drives off, the game has a black screen then it says "day 220". Remember, this is Russell's story we are talking about here. And you said Bonnie? She never mentioned anything about a blood stain. You sure you got your information right? Bonnie has no idea who Nate nor anyone at the station was.

Sorry, not Bonnie, I meant Shel. I got my names crossed. At the beginning of Shel's story you can look at the blood stains from where Nate shot the couple and Shel says that the stains were already there when Roman found the place.

And I just played Russell's section again. There's no time jump - at least not a matter of days. They drive off during sunset and it picks up again once it's dark. Russell is still mad about when Nate opened the window and scared him with the walker and he's still got Nate's gun in his lap. It's the same day.

That doesn't make any sense. Nate and Russell couldn't have gone to the gas station the same day Dee stole the supplies because Bonnie's story happen's 36 days after Russell's. The old man and woman were in their own group, and never came into contact with Roman's group. They died before Roman's group was even at the gas station, and in Shel's game she even says they don't know where the blood came from or what happened there.

During the very first cutscene where it shows the gas station before the outbreak I'm pretty sure you can see Kenny and his family going to their truck and start to pull out.

I am posting this as an afterthought, but I think the old couple might've been associated with Wyatt in some way. Wyatt and Eddie's car was parked at the gas station when Nate and Russell arrived. It's likely that Nate chased Eddie/Wyatt (depending on who drove off) to that gas station since the walker cop was also there, meaning it couldn't have been far. The old lady might've been shot by Russell/Nate too.

OK, here's the overshadows and connections I got from the dlc. Vince starts off in Macon cause it looks like the Everett drugstore he runs past after he shoots an unseen man. He's stuck in traffic on the highway Lee took and the reflection of the police car in the prison bus windows at the begiining could have been Lee on his way to jail. One of the choices during the conversation in the bus is to tell Danny and Justin that he helped out his brother, who could be Glenn btw. It was mentioned in another thread of the possibility. Other then that, the only other connection to the other groups was the RV behind the prison bus was possibliy Shel and Becca's. Wyatt n Eddie are chased by Nate for shooting his partner in crime from what I can tell. Nate was a bandit. The cop who ran from the bus after the chaos started was possibly the one struck by Eddie's car on the back road. Wyatt discovers this if you choose him to leave the car and examine the body. I think they also passed by the truck stop at the very beginning. You can see a sillouette of the sign in the fog as they race by. Dee stole the supplies from Roman's camp and escaped into the cornfields chased by Roman, Stephanie and Clyde, (possibly) and during Bonnie's escape she crosses the interstate behind Vince's prison bus. Russell meets up with Nate sometime after the showdown with Wyatt n Eddie and starts out by walking the same road that Kenny's RV took the day Carly or Doug got shot. The old couple they confront in the diner are the watchdogs that Roman's crew uses since Nate didn't shoot either one of them in the head.

The old people in shel's group are from the old people in episode 5 who beat up kenny and the teenager whose name escapes me. They actually talk about it if you pick certain choices in the scene where you have to choose whether to kill the guy who stole supplies.

The end credits shows a picture of Eddie holding up an african american police officer with his gun in hand while Nate is in the distance standing in front of his truck so i'm assuming this is after Wyatt leaves and Eddie finds the guy he hit. The real question is what happened to Eddie after.

When Vince and the other prisoners saw people getting attacked by walkers, I'm pretty sure the ones that were getting attacked were Shel and Becca.
  • edited July 2013
Weren't Shel and Becca being chased by walkers outside Vince's prison bus?

Also, I just noticed that the prison guard is a crawling walker outside of the diner in the credits.
  • edited July 2013
You can see Chel and Becca in the background running from walkers in Vince's story

During Bonnie's escape you can see the chain lying next to the prison bus.

also, if you hide with Russell, you see Carly's dead body. I saw that and i needed a moment to vent. :(

I loved that moment. I liked Carley, but couldn't help but cringe at all the people crying so hard about a character who barely had any influence on the story. I mean after saving her, she hides for most of episode 2 (for less double-character writing) and then gets offed in early ep3. People got obsessed despite a large lack of screen-time. I cringed even harder at the people making dumbass theories that she could still be alive.

That moment was like TellTale saying "LOOK! SHE'S DEAD! HERE IS HER NOT BEING REMOTELY ATTRACTIVE ANYMORE! DROP IT ALREADY!"

I think you still get in. It wouldn't make sense to just not get in, that'd change the story too much :p

You mean hide? He still sees you and somehow drags you along to participate in his shenanigans.

Also what happens if you kill the blindfolded guy?
