If this doesn't work out, and this new layout is too close to Reddit (which has a terrible layout for a forum) I'm leaving. So just in case that happens... I'll miss you all... And God bless.

What he said. Goodbye everybody! (If the layouts good I'm staying )
Being relatively new to these forums, I can't say that I'll miss this layout quite as much as some of the others here. Still, I've grown accustomed to this place the way it is.
Sometimes change can be good, though. I guess we'll see as we go. See you all there.
Good lord! How far do you have your house paid off in game?
I think I have all the rooms fully expanded except the first-floor-right and the basement, which each have one or two expansions left. For a while, I was spending a lot of time catching beetles on the island to get through the expansions, but I got tired of that, and I rarely play the stalk market, so now my income has slowed to a trickle.
Back on topic: The reddit esque format is better for finding replies for comments though
But it's much worse for finding new posts. In a linear structured forum, it's as simple as "where did I leave off in this thread? Now let's read everything below that." In a threaded forum, the new posts are scattered through the whole thread, however many pages there may be of it.
The thing with Reddit is that it's good for short comments about the things people post. This results in tons of tiny little discussion tendrils that never branch far away from the OP. It's a great system for commenting on news articles and I fully support its use on the Telltale site. In the blogs and the blogs only.
In a forum setting, it'll prevent actual deep discussions from building. With all these discussion tendrils, the thread will constantly default back to the OP and discussions won't have a chance to evolve.
But this is the exact argument I made months ago, and it got me exactly nowhere.
GuruGuru, you are a dead on, and you articulated exactly how I feel. I wasn't able to say it as well as you.
I really hope they listen to what you have said. I noticed a Telltale employee post earlier that he is "glad" that this forum is being retired, but he said nothing about why the Reddit-style posting should replace something that has worked amazingly well.
It is unhelpful and a tiny bit disingenuous when people suggest that those concerned about the Reddit-like design are simply "afraid of change." It's just dismissing and kind of invalidating thoughtful, valid concerns without having to address them.
Anyway, we'll just to see how it goes and give our feedback accordingly.
After almost 20 months without posting a thing, a small post to say goodbye forum: you were the last remaining piece of the old Telltale, no matter how changed, twisted and perverted you became, I'll still remember you as the small forum, from the Little friendly company that revived adventure games.
I hope you guys continue to visit. Maybe they will listen to us if we say we don't like certain aspects of the new forum. At least give it a chance? I share your frustrations about what Telltale has become and how they seem to have been moving away from actual adventure gaming, but this is still a good forum to discuss related topics.
My activity log for New Leaf is currently at 210 hours, with an average play time of 2 hours and 43 minutes per session.
I took my 3DS out with me for the first time in 6 months. I used to get 1 or 2 people on streetpass if I was lucky (usually from a GAME or HMV store, both of which have now closed). This time, I had 7. And they were ALL animal crossing players!
I should probably get this game. Is it much of an improvement over "Let's go to the city!/Cityfolk?" That one really disapointed me because it was pretty much just the DS version with a few events moved out of your town to a central Hub. It didn't really do anything new.
Also, On topic: Will there be cake in the new forum? That would make me feel better...

New leaf takes longer to get starter and as you are Mayor has a bit more depth...
You don't start with a Cafe or a club or even the moles who yell at you if you quit and over time you unlock new buildings and raise bells to build them...
There is also an Island you can visit and sea dive in...
It is a big step up but it delays your KK goodness a couple of weeks and is a bit slower starting than usual...
For some reason I thought Animal Crossing was a pet grooming game for kids until I finally looked it up just now. New Leaf looks interesting. Am I confusing it with something with a similar name?
Also, this thread should probably be renamed to The Animal Crossing Thread. I blame the derailing of this thread on ryannumber1gamer for not creating a separate New Leaf thread.

Hope so!

This isn't even about the dislike of change, I just don't like the particular things that are changing.
Everyone just constantly reply to the OP.
Lol!
It's true. I've been playing for the last 3 hours.
New Leaf sucked me in and I couldn't stop. I had to break the game card into a thousand pieces. I played it for line 4 hours straight.

Yeah new leaf is too addicting
They actually minimized your debt. It's only 10,000 bells now, which is very easy to get in a few hours. The focus of new leaf is your mayor duties.

WHY YES, I AM TALKING ABOUT THE NEW SITE AND NOT ANIMAL CROSSING.
(But seriously, I agree with all of that.)
And anyway, I only just realized that I'm not in the "new site is coming" thread, I'm in the "goodbye old site" thread, so I was derailing too.

...think I may have had one two many celebratory drinks. Tell you what - I'll stop when the room does.
So long old friend.
I got nothing.

So to which forum are we going to move now? Still double fine? 30 minutes with this new one and I'm up for it.
I wasn't thinking about leaving at all...
Until I actually saw the new forums...
I might actually leave...
If I had somewhere to go...
