  • Get the site working properly? Shouldn't that have been done before, y'know, it went live?

Not yet. They want to get the site working properly first, then they'll look into maybe bringing merch back. ...so sometime in 2015.

  • Is it still possible to get individual episodes? In particular, I'm thinking of Sam & Max 104, which used to be free. It was a great way to introduce people to the Sam & Max games. It was my first Sam & Max episode, and probably the reason I bought the game and the other seasons.

  • I left when TWD ended and came back to see The Wolf Among Us be released.

Why is the new layout so confusing? Why are there no avatars? Why are there no emotes? Why are there no signatures?

I can't recognize anyone anymore. I can't find any threads.

  • Yeah...it's...not great. It's slowly getting better though...hopefully. FYI, a lot of the old Walking Dead users migrated to a fan forum here for the time being. You might be able to recognize a few more faces if you stop by there.

  • I've been here a while but don't know what a "CE" is. They've promised a bonus DVD for TWAU people who order from the Telltale site, though, so merchandise may be available again someday. Check back. The game will still be here.

And yes, Telltale have said they'll aim to bring physical items back at some point.

  • the bonus dvd is just the physical dvd for the cost of mailing it to you, its not a bonus dvd with stuff not on the standard retail that would be sold after the episodes are finished

    just so you know :P
they do that to all the games they have sold
if u buy here you get the digi now, and for shipping later u get the physical copy of that same data,
maybe a soundtrack is added or such but just a retail dvd just so you know

way worth the buy .. by the way, but dont want to mislead you into thinking you get the game then ANOTHER dvd bonus.. just 1 disc mate

The collector's DVD will have extra content, it won't be just the game on the DVD. Telltale's president Kevin Bruner confirmed that it will have extras like various videos, behind the scenes, etc. The collector's DVD also will come in a case with special TTG only artwork.

  • At the moment, all you can do is buy the downloadable season of TWAU. If you're not going to download and play it now, there's no reason to buy it now.

If you do buy it now, directly from Telltale (not through Steam), Telltale has promised to issue a DVD at the end containing the episodes as well as bonus material. You can have this DVD for the cost of shipping. If you order now, you will not pay shipping yet, only at the end when the DVD is available. If you decide after the season is over that you don't want the DVD after all, you don't pay the shipping.

Telltale has not promised any special Deluxe or Collector's Edition of the DVD at this point, but that doesn't mean they won't have one, either. If they do, chances are they will make it available at a lesser cost for those who have already bought the season, so you don't feel like you're buying the game twice. I think for Tales Of Monkey Island, Telltale offered the Deluxe Edition with all the goodies in it for around $15 plus shipping for those who had already bought the season. People who had not bought TOMI paid both the game cost and the cost of the Deluxe Edition.

Again, Telltale has not promised anything beyond the DVD (with special Telltale case) and bonus material on it for now.

Hope that helps you decide when to buy it.

  • hey warpspeed thanks for the reply

please do note how long ive been around ttg's site since the beginning, so I know very well how the buy digi now and get the dvd later works
just sometimes its not the CE as u stated

if i am sure ill get the artwork with bonus if I buy right now ill do that, and of course id play it.. im lost with where u got the idea I wouldnt...
other than ive already beat ep 1 just not with my saves my brother has replayed with different choices on his rig
    sooo

but the special case and bonus material is what im seeking, though a bundle was more what I was hoping for (see monkey island bundle)
    as you pointed out
and it wasnt orignially offered as you stated,
first it was only CE for people who paid for CE, then the leftovers they just said they had many and would sell to anyone who did preorder for just an extra 15$ later another deal even came out for 50% off during a sale session.
so it was something insanely low for that box, when I bought 2. (want to say it was only 35$) per box plus shippin

    anyway

ive gotten two mixed answers from mods, and mods used to work FOR telltale, so not sure how so much has changed, seems no one i know even still works here anymore.. im to old and ttgs seems to dynamic staff wise, id be afraid to apply in fear of being lost in the shuffles
(I was asked to apply years ago) around the era mark joined.

let me know if i preorder will i get this dvd with artwork and such or is it still an unknown?

    you could have just said,

though text is hard to take in proper context

any links to the reasons so many changes in staff and games have occurred? im straight lost

used to even have friends linked in forums now it omits that capability. So i cant even see who still works here that is my old mate(s) or not

anyway try to watch the wording, its sad to be sure, but no need to poke with the speeding up of a heartbreak process..
that should have been left out.

Telltale's King's Quest game was cancelled a few months back, and we thought most people knew about it. We're sorry this is how you found about it. But I do promise that we didn't mean to rub it in.

Sorry, I didn't intend to come across as mean. I just wanted to state the fact and happened to pick up your words in doing so.
English is not my native language, and it probably didn't sound like I thought it would.
My statements are a bit dry sometimes, and I try to be concise when getting information across.
I see your point that this could have required a little more emotional involvement.

Yeah. I was a beta tester for Sierra on The Realm, it's hard to believe that it's been over 15 years now.

It is too bad that the Telltale King's Quest was cancelled (but hopefully we'll still get a sequel, Activision is apparently now working on one themselves). Activision seems willing to utilize the Sierra catalog now, which is really good news. Jane Jensen has a 25th anniversary remake of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers coming out, and it's said to be Activision's desire to introduce the series to a new audience before a sequel (I really hope it does well so that Jane can to work on a new game in the series).

  • no worries
guess u just meant it how again i phrased it
but again I do remember an era when mods were mostly ttg employes .. take even dave and emily and even jake, used to mod and offer support,

i have been on a beach off grid for QUITE some time, no net no phone just me and the sun and sand in so cal,
so its why I was unaware of this cancelation, as I spoke to many people and it was really seeming a total green light even on robertas end

any links to said discussions or changes in ttg's? its almost not even the same place I once knew, and ive been around since its creation, and well before on marks old games and jakes old message boards n such, even worked on a few games playtesting wise in early years

made many many friends and even shared a toilet back when ttg had only 1 urinal lol (with dave grossman) as we talked about urinal wars and monkey island in the same odd and fun talk :P

*see monkey island sword fights using wordplay and convert to the toilet humor for details lol
so much fun ive had there
and well most of the employes ive known for yearrrrs before they joined ttg and now vanised
    is mark dizzle still around?

but i was very very young :P

most of the sierra team took work home just writing the parser error codes and bringing em back the next time in
and the 2 guys from Andromeda well werent in the office i was, I was under the kq line in its Turing sour phase kq5-6 era

also i have met jane jensen and I love her games AND she is quite awesome, just hope they hold true to old school natures,
proof of this is in TTGs walking dead and now wolf among. to think that interface all started with Jurassic park its come soooo far
id even envision a BONE done like the recent WAU doubt bone will be touched again but to think how far ttg has come since texas holdem and bone.. just astounds me :P always knew they would be a great success

ty again for clearing up the CE dvd issue, sorry if I seem bombastic or over critical, just odd going off grid and coming back to a company that still has the quality (and only getting better) but completely new staff

  • Sadly, I never actually got a chance to work at the Sierra offices. On The Realm, I was an off-site tester. I was just at the right place at the right time, since they were looking to test all speeds of modems and I was one of the few to have broadband since my area was the test market for Time Warner Cable Internet: then known as Line Runner (I had an lrun.com e-mail for a long time, even after it became known as Road Runner).

I still remember my application. I pointed out a crash in King's Quest 6, and how to consistently replicate it. I was hoping that pointing out a bug that made it through to one of their own games would increase my chances at getting the job, and apparently it worked. :)

  • I did the same for ttgs on a strongbad episode :P which was later implemented (see plunger puzzle for slimy details) :P

and oh the glory of kq6 bugs, as i said, ick and ouch, but great job, with awesome people very awesome.
most of my testing was at home as i said but we would do meetings and present the parser errors and how when where why etc.
    (with the earlier games)
later with the pointer and pathways errors of getting stuck in a tree or rock etc,
    ahh the fun days.

id hope to be apart of ttg's at one point but again seems all my buddies arent there now, so sadly my foot in the door seems long gone

    (i live just 30 min away from TTG's )

  • You're mostly correct; almost every season of every game you buy directly from Telltale nets you a collector's edition hard copy for the cost of shipping; however, that wasn't the case with season 1 of The Walking Dead: no collector's edition, nor even a straight game disc, was offered from TTG. There were collector's editions released, but you had to buy the game at retail, and even then I don't think the PC release got the collector's edition goodies, like the hardcover Walking Dead compilation. I was extremely disappointed in TTG for that.

Also this is just on feedback but is my page glitching because even if I click to see new comments from my feed it does not take me right to them and over all it just seems really messy of a forum when looking for comments, for example, i would figure new comments would either be at the first page or the last page, not randomly in the middle or 5th to last page or 7th to first page.
