My canon comment was supposed to be about The Wolf Among Us (which IS canon in the Fables universe), not The Walking Dead, which is obviously NOT canon.

Hey Guys,
My canon comment was supposed to be about The Wolf Among Us (which IS canon in the Fables universe), not The Walking Dead, which is obviously NOT canon.
Allow me to quote from the session:
Q: Any chance of the next season of TWD game intersecting with storylines in the comic or TV show?
… more
Also will we see other returning characters besides, of course, Clem?
A: Well the game will be in canon and we are always looking for ways to connect to the Comic and Show but haven't found the right fit yet. There will be season one characters in season 2 to but to say more would be a spoiler
i think he means the part about comics/tv show seeing as the tv show is not cannon with the comic. as for the game i have no idea which universe of the walking dead it would belong too.
It's part of the comic. hence the entire style of the entire game and the comic characters you meet.
If it wasnt canon to the comic, Glenn would of been a main group member and not left to find his friends in atlanta, Where he would of found Rick
i think he means the part about comics/tv show seeing as the tv show is not cannon with the comic. as for the game i have no idea which universe of the walking dead it would belong too.
When the first season came out initially, the understanding was that it was canon with the comics. For example, the Lily in the game was supposed to be the Lily in the Woodbury story arc from the comic - she is the one that kills the Gov and feeds him to the walkers out of anger and dismay over his actions and her own. This is evidenced by the fact that one of the achievements of the game was "Woodbury bound" when Lily either leaves or is thrown out of the group for killing Carly or Doug. However, when Kirkman came out with his "Road to Woodbury" graphic novel, he had a completely different backstory for Lily that didn't jive with the Lily from the game. It was at that point that game and comic parted ways (and the achievement was renamed, "What now?"). The only reason that Glenn did not stay with the group after episode 1 is that, at the time, it was assumed the game would be and stay canon with the comic, so he couldn't stay. As I stated above, things changed.
However, I don't see it as much of a problem if TTG's Walking Dead is its own continuity. That gives the TTG more creative freedom to take the story where they want to go, without being limited by either the comic or show. At this point, it is far to early to say if there will be a third season to this game. However, if there is, it could allow TT to take a significant time-skip forward and allow us to see the world of the Walking Dead years after the initial outbreak (or at least TTG's version of it - remember, despite over 100 issues of the comic, only about 2 years of time has passed since the outbreak). If TTG wishes to continue with Clem's story, it would be nice to see her as an older teen or young adult, and see how our choices have affected the woman she has become.
The only problem I see with this is that Kirkman himself could poo-poo this idea as he still controls his own IP on this (obvious, I know).

I saw my Steam version (Win 7) saves it here: C:\Users\my awesome name\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead where I believe the TT version saves it in the MyGames\Telltale one. So many saves though! :O
Especially since a bunch of completely lobotomized journalists have taken the two inches of yesterday's Star Wars talk in the reddit AMA to postulate the completely ridiculous "Telltale hints at Star Wars game" rumour. It's as if they didn't catch the news that EA got that license, exclusively, and one of their usurped studios will make games out of Lucas' thankfully ruined legacy.
Yeah, but that was unfortunately the worst part of the reddit AMA.
We love Sam & Max and certainly haven't forgotten about them! I think you'll see something smaller (more like Poker) than a full Season, and probably not for a bit, but we have NOT forgotten about them, we've just been super busy growing like crazy.
Telltale was always "super busy growing like crazy". If they can't do Sam & Max again during a time of growth, I don't know when. They certainly won't do it during a time of stagnation or shrinkage. I naturally can't connect to the idea that anything but a full Season could be satisfactory for the fans of the old games. The statement is, of course, meant to suggest that "like Poker", the smaller Sam & Max bit that could maybe or maybe not come out some years in the future, "when there's time", will not return to the puzzle gameplay of said former Seasons and show the characters in some other capacity.
I'd really rather they openly buried the idea of Season 4 now instead of raising such arsenic sprinkled fractional hopes.
They also mentioned that they are working on a large improvement of their tools that will "be shipped out next Summer," which aligns with I expct will be the likely conclusion of Wolf/Season 2's runtime. They mentioned that the games will "be prettier" and run better I recall.
It's disappointing that they have a "one size fits all" mentality with their game design. To date, I am a fan of both Telltale's old and new gameplay. However, I wish they would focus on just applying individual gameplay elements where they fit rather than forcing themselves to design lukewarm LucasArts adventure clones (in terms of difficulty/scale) or Walking Dead style games just becuase they think that's what made previous games successful. Both gameplay styles are great when they fit the license, but they also need to acknowledge that casual players being confused with old school adventure logic does not equilivate to mainstream audiences in general "being afraid of/bored of" puzzles.
On both ends of the spectrum, be it old school point and click games with abstract logic or casual Walking Dead style games, I wish Telltale would stop arbitrarily choosing to make their games reach a puzzle/QTE quota and focus on designing puzzles/gameplay with a difficulty that fit the license and/or its audience. I love what Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us have going on in terms of gameplay, but that does not mean I want Walking Dead style Sam and Max games.

About the charatchers from season I'm beting Chsita and/or Omid and Kenny (apparently). I don't think Molly and the cancer group will return, or even Lilly. The cancer group reappered in 400 days to kind off finish their story, Lilly got to her own thing and I guess Molly could appear but I'm still sticking to my point of TTG not making too many known charatcher appear again. because this is Clem's story without Lee, and now the direct continuation of Lee's story.
Clementine's story IS the direct continuation of Lee's story...
We wouldn't give two s**ts about Clementine if it wasn't for having cared so much for her as Lee.

-"More Story Branching in Season 2!"
-"Season 1 characters will return to Season 2."
That's the only 2 news I wanted to hear. :P
Returning characters, and expanded game design with, hopefully properly executed, story branching.
Again,if done well, (and I believe it will be,TT hasen't failed to achieve this in Season 1) the whole season could, and will,be brilliant.
I agree 100%, Walking Dead and Wolf have been great experiences as a "interactive film" type of game, but I'd love to see another Sam and Max season with the old school point and click style. Ideally for me it'd be the next project after this new IP they were talking about. Oh well...

EDIT: Only thing of note was that he confirmed characters from 400 Days would return in Season 2, so I've updated the OP to make a note of that. Otherwise, it's all just general chit-chat.
Thanks. I'll have a look.

I think Lilly is going to make a reappearance. Whatever option you choose for her doesn't lead to her death, and even if you leave her in the woods it wouldn't take much for her to outrun the walker and find the abandoned RV.
If you abandon her, Clem finds her in S2, Lilly says something like "if that asshole Lee hadn't lef-" and is immediately shot.
If you trust her and she steals the RV, Clem finds her in S2, Lilly says something like "ha that idiot Lee let me stea-" and is immediately shot.

Not that I buy the whole Star Wars chat meaning anything else beyond having an interest in it, but coincidentally enough I saw from one of today's new comments that he also mentioned having an interest in the Scifi genre, shortly thereafter mentioning that Telltale is currently working on something that could be considered Scifi.
Also, I mentioned this earlier but according to other earlier posts, Kevin also stated that Telltale are working on large scale improvements to their tools that we will see "by next summer."
Thanks. I'll have a look.

Season 1 Characters...
More Story Branching...
And a little Mute Clem on my Android won't hurt .
This is gonna be great .
The games follow the comic book canon, I'm pretty sure. Didn't they say that much during Playing Dead?
Hey Guys,
My canon comment was supposed to be about The Wolf Among Us (which IS canon in the Fables universe), not The Walking Dead, which is obviously NOT canon.
If you're someone who knows things, I don't suppose you know if a Vita version of Season 2 will be available at launch, along with the PC versions.
It'll be up to you if Clementine gets hurt.
Oh god, the inevitable death animations...
Ah.
Thanks for clearing that up, Kevin.
I believe they were stored in different places on the computer though. Get DjNDB in here, if anyone knows, it's him...
I didn't want ANY comic or TV show references/characters to show up in S2. Hopefully Dan's quote clarifies this for the moment.
whoa whoa.. the games no longer canon with the comic now? wtf?

I don't know why but I want a LOST telltale game. Maybe with different survivors.
A new IP to be announced "very soon..." Oh man, I can't wait!
Nothing on Sam & Max Season 4?
Neither can I.

Still pretty sure it was already confirmed that the game IS canon with the comics.
Hahaha! This made me laugh so hard. You're not a friend of Lilly, that's for sure
