Maybe this is a secret contest! Maybe whoever designs the best boxart gets theirs used for the actual thing! Maybe pigs can fly and my skin is purple!

Look out, man. I saw this thing flying around with only one eye and a horn. Looked kinda hungry. His name was Pete.

Nah, I doubt anything will come of the whole boxart thing. Oh, wait now I get the whole pigs flying.. and purple..
    skin..
    thing..

    Nevermind.

Yes, print them all out! (From this thread):

    TechNick's first
    TechNick's second
    Guybrush Threepwood's Version
    Poohead900's Version
    16_BIT_MARIO1's first
    Dash383535's version
    16_BIT_MARIO1's second

Remember, be respectful. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

    I like 16 Bit Mario's second design.

For removing the undesired extra white background, layer masks anyone? I have little to no Photoshop (R) experience, just what I've found myself.
  • edited December 2008
Hmm. I use Flash to make pictures.

I use the most awesomest combination of programs to edit pixxures: Paint and Photoshop!

    I'd be lost without Paint.

I use GIMP, though I would assume the functions like this are about the same. I'm probably wrong, but here's how to do it in GIMP. Go to Layers-Transparencies-Add Alpha Channel. Then select what you want to get rid of, and press delete (not backspace, delete). Then it'll be a transparency, and the ugly white stuff will be gone.

I can do that on Flash.

I was just confused about what he meant by ugly white stuff. In my few photo-chops, I haven't had any reason to mask anything. I cop out with layer blending!

heres mine. yours are all better then this one though, because you all have better programs!!!
  • edited December 2008
Wow... they are all so good... I could never do anything like this at all.

For those of you who want to make awesome boxart, but don't have a good program and/or won't spend money: http://www.gimp.org. It's what I use, and it's certainly less convoluted than Photoshop (judging by the demo I used; I couldn't make heads or tails of it).

Count me in, I like its simplicity and awesomeness. It would be totally Strong Bad-esque if someone saw that in the store and bought it because of the "concept art" itself.

Who needs fancy schmancy programs when you can turn out stuff like that?

    I'd buy that. It's awesome!

I use Fotoflexer. It's the only one I found that allows layering.

dude, i actually didn't think it was that good. but know i do:)

Sorry I took your back cover, Poohead900. I don't have the photoshop trial for much longer, so I couldn't make my own.

I think Maybe they could make a DS adaption, that uses touching, like point and click
The Japanese could have it on the newish DSi, in DSiWare. Only out in japan currently, Maybe even design us some new seasons speculation boxart for all the different platforms, even with 2 extra episodes storylines in the handhelds with 2 of them fused, than the console and computer.

I likes it, especially the back cover.
    ;)

If it weren't for the little bit of blur issue with Strong Bad and the Strong Badia fence, I'd have to say that's the best yet.

Edit: Awww.... Screw it, that's the best one so far.

Are you being paid to promote GIMP? You've mentioned like 5 times now.

On topic: These are all so awesome.

What? No. No. No. I mean, no. Never. No. What? No. I only talk about GIMP so much because it's the best program ever, and everyone should download it! NOW! It's free-ee!

cuz I need room for the other ones.

Why don't you try and just scale them down so that they don't look so warped?
