Telltale should abandon their episodic formula if they can't keep to dates and can't stop giving platforms issues.
Just release it all in… more one go or get on the ball... fast.
Can imagine your favourite tv show? hey the next episode will appear on screen ins 6 weeks time, no wait 8 weeks time, its coming soon I promise, seriously promisely soon, seriously guys here is a few pictures, its coming soon, having a few issues might take a bit longer, but seriously soon okay. Big news on Friday. Friday - here is a trailer, but guys seriously its coming soon. People would go mental.
Pick a deadline and run with it, deadlines are good for discipline, can you imagine a company were people just handed in work whenever? Pissed off customers, despite how amazing the product is. ESPECIALLY when pre-paid. You wouldn't put up with this nonsense from a plumber or builder would you?
That is a completely different argument. Time frames are not in question here. They took a long time yes, but I believe it was needed and if we could see the process probably wanted by the fans. That's as far as I will take that argument.
It doesn't matter if they had finished the game earlier because the time it takes to receive and publish the game is the same. It didn't jump from 2 weeks to 1 week, it is the same time frame only pushed back to now.
And even at that if they had released it earlier and the problem would have still occurred then we would have the same angry people here, just we would have had them here and angry sooner rather than later (or now),so that point is completely moot.
If telltale hadn't taken so long to to finish episode 2 everybody would have enough time to do what needs to be done but because they did ta… moreke so long and people were getting pissed, Sony didn't have the time they needed to get it ready for the release date. I'm guessing they normally have around 2 weeks from when they receive the content and when they are supposed to publish but because they were lagging they had less than 1 week. Root of the problem, Telltale.
Critical thinking. The game is complete and ready for release as far as telltales part goes. Proven by multiple successful releases. The problems with releasing on the consoles are just that, problems with releasing on the consoles.
I'm not at home. And I'm not badgering you I'm explaining the situation and giving my options/giving information. If you think I'm being an asshole then:
Yes, but Telltale announce it. Playstation may decide what dates they can actually release it, but Telltale get to announce to their fans when games are going to be released. Notice, I didn't blame Telltale for the delayed release date on PSN-EU, I argued that it would be good PR if they themselves kept consumers informed of delays. Regardless of whether or not it's their fault, the fact of the matter is that it is their product, not Sony's. Whether they are responsible for the delay or not, it is ultimately their product that is the topic of conversation, hence my call for them to explain themselves. I would argue that the lack of communication by Telltale is damaging their own brand, hence it would be *prudent *if they were to explain the delay, if only to appease fans in Europe who feel (rightly, IMO) they are being shafted. Leaving it up to Sony is, for me, an abdication of responsibility.
And I'm sure the response you are looking for is on its way. The point still remains it was a problem on psn side, while tt is sure to relea… morese this information it should come from the problemed sector first. They don't get to announce the release dates themselves, they have the days they want to release the games and plan to release the games but in in the end the finale say is determined by the releasing corporation (play station).
In the end a 30 second Google search heralds the same results as though telltale had released the information themselves. Only difference is it is probably more informational seeing as the information is coming from the people who have deeper knowledge of the problem at hand.
Telltale should release this redundant information yes, but it isn't really a prudent topic.
Why do we pay fully pre paid for a discount yet when release day comes, theres always a hiccup, this time on mac. EVERYONE has the game, spoiler after spoiler. By the time its released i won't give a shit honestly because i'll know the story thanks to half of y'all that have to ruin it for everyone else. I'll never buy full game from tell tale. this is ridiculous how as a company you leave consumers in the dark. what the fuck. now i have to sit here and read oh bets episode so and so is back this is epic. yeah not so epic for mac users.
Plus the 'mac thing' was already a problem last month with the release of TWAU Episode 2, except that time it could be 'fixed' by re-installing the game. No such luck with TWD... They had 1 whole month to look into the issue and apparently didn't. This is ridiculous.

Good points. I concede (I believe that is correct terminology?). I still think it is right to hear it from ps first but I can't argue the other aspects of the conversation. Thanks for the debacle
I'd also like top point out before I leave that their announcement was fine until the actual releasers of the playable game messed up and made it an impossibility. It's like saying a car company announced a new car for tomorrow with the cars sitting in the wear house waiting for departure and than having an explosion destroy them all at the showings and then getting upset that the car company announced the car. (That was a stupendous run-on sentence!)

That's a bit harsh.... You have to ALOT worse to even make a wave in the ocean that is EA... DRM, Pay2Win, Destroy awesome games, Shit customer suppert. Kinda like this, but you know... permanent. EA is pretty much out of anyones league when it comes to sucking.
If this article is legit then it should be out today for EU http://www.joystiq.com/2014/03/04/walking-dead-season-2-episode-2-gets-dates-on-xbox-360-ios/ - " PSN users in Europe have to wait until tomorrow."
I've been waiting for it to be available for way too many hours now. Yesterday, I sat trying to get the episode till midnight while refreshing the forums 24/7. And it has been like that for the past 5 hours today and I still have no idea how to download the next episode. I live in Sweden and have a PC, nothing peculiar. It's extremely frustrating and annoying not being able to play a game, which everybody else has already played through. I've also done everything I can possibly do, every tip here in threads and I even f'd up my save files and had to play the first episode a second time. It is patched, It even says "Episode 2 is available for download" or something along those lines in the game menu, but everything says "Coming soon".
I bought the game on Telltale Store just to not give money to steam and to "help" them a little, what do I get in return? A non-downloadable game! I'll never ever buy games here again. God damnit, I was looking forward to play this yesterday...
come on guys a few days is not the end of the world, why would Telltale hold just the PSN version back but release all other formats for potential abuse?? waiting patiently here, looking forward to it!

If PSN at least update their store two days a week, maybe it would have avoided any delays. A week of delay is okay, but if it goes any longer it's unacceptable.

The issue occurring for Mac users unable to download the game should now be resolved. Please close and start the game while connected to the internet, and you should receive the necessary updates in order to be able to download the game. My sincerest apologies for those of you effected by this issue. I hope you enjoy the game!
Well, still not working for me though... I've been sitting here for over 8 hours trying to figure out how to solve it. The only thing I've succeeded with is to get the text saying "Episode 2 is available for download" in the main menu, nothing else (which hopefully means that I patched it).
Please help me with my problem, this is really frustrating and I'm very disappointed because I was really looking forward to this. Now I'm really mad 11 o'clock in the night...

The root of this problem? Still psn.
Same here, unless we get a damn good reason for this absence of communication
Telltale giving us the silent treatment...
Question: Why are you not playing the game? No offence or anything but you're just hearing badgering us as we don't have it, don't be an arsehole.
What system ? Also Sony blames Telltale for it to be stuck in telltales own QA...
I'm not at home. And I'm not badgering you I'm explaining the situation and giving my options/giving information. If you think I'm being an asshole then:
Sorry I guess.
Don't read my posts.
What do you mean what system? The one it isn't working on.
I've not seen that information, only reports of the contrary.

Love how TT shifted 100% blame to Sony and are hiding under the bed. Worse PR than the EA right nowa

The article is wrong, it was written 4th of march, witch is yesterday
Nope, still ep 2...
So any news at all about Telltale mac version? This is getting ridiculous. Anyone called them up yet?

Few weeks more likely -_-

From Telltale, got the episode around 2 hours ago. Hope you got it to!

I'm still trying to figure out how he made it out of that horde of zombies. But yeah it was good to see him again.

IKR! I did the same thing. I'm thinking about starting over too.

I'm a swedish PC user, if that's of any help.
While you are here, do explain why the episode is delayed (and not that "comming soon" bullshit
A post on the Playstation blog says:

I have, all it said "comming soon"
GMT+1: iOS version available, running smooth so far
BTW, it was the same when you did monkey island (that I got on PC) and TWD S1 (Ps3 EU), didn't you learned something from that `?
