Im 100% sure its not Pete If you choose not to save him on the river zombies tear his ass apart. You still get the same preview for the next episode with the I thought you were dead person so it must be someone else.
Since he was bitten, he would have to amputate his leg. So, Pete would hop his way all the way up a mountain, through forests swarming with zombies, pursued by Carver and his men, and not only SURVIVE all of that, but arrive at the group's destination BEFORE the Cabin Crew did?
