Scariest nightmare you've ever had.

This thread's title explains itself! What's the scariest nightmare you've ever had?

The scariest nightmare I ever had saw me in an elevator with a demonic grin, crazed eyes... and a moustache. The moustache probably tarnished his evil visage a bit, but that didn't stop him from grabbing hold of my throat and strangle me until I woke up in a fright.

The scariest part of the dream, though, is that I enjoyed having it. Hmm...

    Ah! Evil! Childhood....crane claw.....from ceiling.....

I SWEAR THAT THING HAUNTED ME IN ALMOST ALL MY DREAMS WHEN I WAS LITTLE!

If I screamed, it came. If I was in the hall, it DEFINITELY came. I swear that thing was evil...

My nightmares are rather tame by comparison. My two most common nightmares involve either all of my teeth falling out, or me being unable to use a keyboard without making 60 typos a minute. The former is something anyone can relate to as being unpleasant, but the latter is extremely nasty for me as I'm a Computer Science major.

    Here we go:

Ok so im drifting off to Dreamland, sleeping the day away.(Did that for filler)Suddenly everythings all dark and theres flames. I look pretty freaked out. Suddenly Boney arms grab my arms and theres the Devil....Really big....also scary. Suddenly he points at me and the arms let go, only to have several more drag me down into the ground.......

And after that I dont remember anything. This is just one of the freaky dreams I had.

I ain't an experienced dream interpreter, but my theory is that the elevater represents isolation, fear, or pressure. If it has demon/person characteristics and strangles you by the throat (which is the source of breath), that could mean that you are experiencing some anxiety issues; which is formed by stress of work or someone you know is making you very nervous. Either that, or you need to cut back on survival/horror games.

Kind of sounds like the Boogey Tent, only it was an elevator.

I don't remember any scary nightmares that I had. However, there is still one which terrified me so badly, that I could never forget it. You might have seen this creature before, because I posted it in a different thread somewhere...

    ab79zl.jpg

He's dubbed the Nightmare Hare. He was a harmless stuffed bunny rabbit, but he came to life and started chasing me in a dark forest like in Friday the 13th:eek:! What can I say. The subconcious has many surprises.

I think the Nightmare Hare needs his own stage musical!

I used to keep a dream journal but stopped because seriously.. writing down my dreams/nightmares just became a chore... and they totally confused me.
    Almost always my nightmares involve:
    A large run down mansion/house
Hidden rooms/passage ways/entire sub basements, often inhabited by random people (wtf?)
Bathrooms (again, wtf?) usually really messed up, filthy and without doors... or worse, no cubicles at all! ( I think this is something to do with privacy)
    Being chased/pursued
Run down unfinished building work (see run down mansion)

Yep... It's all very screwed up. My brain must be totally messed up lol.

Creepiest dream I ever had... I think that was the mall one. My dad and I were at this american style mall which had a huge open air courtyard in the middle.. only instead of a park or something it was a cemetary. Which was odd in it's own right. Anyway, we were exploring this and in the dream it wasn't at all strange that there were graves in the middle of a mall but hey, that's dream logic. The furthur up the hill we walked (yes it was on a slope) the fresher the graves became... till they were open graves.. then finally we came across a field of car crashes with the bodies still in. It was gross and bizzare.

So dream interpreters, what does THAT mean? lol.

This post made me immediately think of Sybil Pandemick and the puzzle in Culture Shock where you had to get diagnosed with Artificial Personality Disorder. I especially love the fact that you choose what to tell Sybil was in your dream, and what you tell her determines if you have APD or not. Even more amusing is that on each playthrough the symptoms change. Kind of reminds me of the world of psychology right now. There's a lot of things being classified as diseases that probably don't have any tangible physical or medical cause, including an addiction to the internet.

When I was 13, I had a nightmare that had my Pokemon: Gold Version sank to the bottom of the ocean. To a pokemon fanatic, that is the most scariest thing that ever happened.

OK, I had this dream when I was about 6, but I would still be horrified by it. My cat became demonically possessed and started mauling people. He was about to kill me, but he was shot before he could hurt me too badly. I had to be taken to the hospital with my mom who was also attacked, and I was finally safe. But them, the demon came back in its own physical form which looked like a cross between Ryuk and The Joker, and he was on fire. It started chasing me through the hospital, burning everything it passed. I eventually found refuge in another room, but there was another demon, and the chase started again. I found my mom's room, and there was my cat trying to kill me again. Then I woke up screaming.

Looking back, it was really weird and stupid, but I was 6 at the time.

I had a dream when I was a little child that I was playing a board game with some kids then they had to go.They left me in my room and I sat there cleaning up a mess.I tried to stand up but I couldn't move.I sat there for a couple seconds then heard a car drive up.The window was open and when I turned around I saw a big black garbage truck.A man walked out of it with a knife he kept getting closer.I kept trying to stand up but I couldn't move a bit.He got about 3 feet away from the window.I finally was able to walk. The man poked his head through the window. He was wearing an opera mask and had huge fangs. The lights started to flicker as I ran for my door!!!I finally opened my door and saw the same guy right in front of me.He was about an inch from stabbing me but right then I woke up in a sweat

One I could remember was the weirdest and most disturbing of all. It happened when I was aboot 5: I was with two other people, and we were all trying to get to this garage. It was dark, but it seemed like there was no sky. When we finally got there, those two peoples' presence wasn't felt anymore, and -now for the strange part- a series of two-dimensional figures started popping up in front of me, they all had smiley faces. Then, one by one, their faces turned into evil smirks and disappeared. I opened the door, and there were three garage doors. I entered the forst one; there was a distorted balled man in front of me. He was also giving me an evil grin. I kicked him, he flew about five feet back, and exploded into gore. I left the room and into the next; it was like the Disney World Orlando Resort. Literally. There were kids, a pool, and people in Mickey, Donald, and Goofey suits. I got the urge that something fishy was going on with that guy in the Goofey suit. I got on a water slide, and dove into him. And that's all I remember. Does that mean anything?

I had some kind of kid chasing me, with a face that looked like a Happy Faces biscuit.
Then he shot his hand out at me, which sent out a beam of red light. It missed me and hit some old lady. Her face turned into a Happy Face. This kid has been chasing me like Freddy Krueger for years, and usually shows up when I'm worried about stuff.
Although, thinking about it I guess I was watching Batman a lot as a kid.

I had a dream, about this creepy theater and I was walking down the stairs to the lobby, and Nick Falcone was there, suddenly this panel opened and I was walking down the staircase again, and Nick was chained to the stairs and looked very scared, suddenly this creepy moaning came, and these weird old teddy bears and 1930 dolls came and moaned creepily, they then came up close to me and I woke up.

    I really hated that dream...

My scariest dream... well, I was outside, and I said to my friend, "hey, is it just me, or is the moon getting bigger? Or closer?" And it was. Then all of a sudden, the moon had a crack down the middle. (Okay, it seemed a lot scarier and more dramatic the way I saw it) Then it broke into at least six pieces and started hurtling toward Earth. It was pretty scary.

Sounds like that ABC Family show.... it was called..... Three Moons Over Milford! Except it broke into 3 pieces in this series (obivously). I only watched the pilot episode, so I have no clue what happened.

I hardly ever have scary dreams. Most of my dreams are extremely boring, everyday things, like grocery shopping. However, when I was about 6 years old, I dreamed that I was on some kind of roller coaster track (I was terrified of roller coasters back then) and at one point of the track there was a spot with no track, but it looked as if the jump could get me over onto the track again. Unfortunately, there was some kind of invisible wall between the two tracks, and I began to fall to my almost certain doom. That was when I woke up. I also had a dream that week about a witch chasing me through Pick'n'Save (complete with Pac Man style view!).

I remember having a dream that had a natural disaster from outer space destroyed the Earth, too. I dreamt that Jupiter somehow entered the orbit our planet is occupying and was going to collide with Earth. I remember that moment in which the huge planet made a small touch on our world's surface, and a bright light shot out, and I woke up.

I remember one time when I was around 6 or so, I had a dream where I walked out of my room and saw my father naked and wearing a cowboy hat. (Fortunately, I just saw his back and hindquarters, and I'm very happy about that.) I couldn't sleep for a week.

Umm... Isn't a week more than the max amount you can stay up for before you die of exaughstion or soemthing?

I can't remember most of mine, I'll try, but I do remember the "Oh No! Moon is gonna blow up earth!" dream.
