So many fanfictions

I'm not saying this is bad but when I get onto the forum I only see fanfictions. It's like the whole forum is now filled with fanfictions and no theories wich is a bit sad. And another thing (this might not apply to everyone) is that people won't have time to read and participate in everyones, the only one I'm really into right now is raging_blades and that is because i read it from the start and it's still going great.

So my point is, we should not overflow with fanfictions cause it will not end well if people keep starting new ones. As said tho, I have nothing against the people making them.

Thanks for being in mine! :D. I agree lots of fan fictions. It's overcrowding the forum!!! They're not bad, but there's not many threads even talking about the game anymore. I'm actually in all the fan fics, and every 5 minutes I get 12 notifications! XD.

  • But there's nothing to do here. What's the alternative? Discussing things we've already discussed again and again?

  • Having a separate fanfic subsection would be nice.

  • I can't even see mine cause it's stuck on 99+ so it won't let me in :3

I guess, but is overflowing the forum with fanfictions the right thing instead of talking about twd related things, there are always new stuff to talk about.

    FAN FICS. FAN FICS EVERYWHERE!

  • Um trust me, this forum has run out of things to talk about that actually are interesting. I wouldn't use the word overflowing, I see about 3 or 2 on the front right now, when episode 4 comes they'll die down.

  • I'm really not all that bothered too much at seeing fanfics on here since I'm writing my own fanfic on TWDG myself. Although, I've mostly stuck to posting chapters for it on a main fanfic thread I think someone named Mark did, than making a seperate thread for my fic on it's own.

I mean, there's no real harm in it, but I guess fanfics writers could do what I always do and stick to one place. It's handy because they're more or less all together and the thread won't vanish so newbies can look through the pages on that thread and find it easy. I mean there's one thread for fanart, fanfics should be treated the same as such.

  • Well forum fanfics are better than fanfiction.net's 'house of CLUKE'

  • I don't really mind it, but I only participate in two. I agree that the interactive fanfic bandwagon is becoming a tad rickety.

I recently started a fic about the military response to the outbreak, but I'm keeping it on Mark's thread until the first three chapters are out and published.

  • Guess how many I read? ZERO.

  • That's nice; no need to poop on someone else's parade though. :)

  • I also agree with there being a bunch of fanfictions overcrowding the forums. Mr_Eeuss makes sense though, saying that we'd just be discussing a bunch of theories over and over again. Maybe if we find something new t discuss that would be great but as someone who doesn't usually read fanfictions, (I'm sorry I don't have a bunch of times but I'm sure they're great and I should start too.) it'd be nice to have some other theories or other things to discuss.

  • Damn, just made a thread about this not knowing this one was up! Haha, I totally agree!

  • Dude, you're part of my fan-fic. you have several characters in it, how is it not included there?

I'm okay with fan fics but some of the interactive ones are getting on my nerves. Fan fics like @Tyler_Durant make are perfect but these interactive ones always crowd the forum.

  • 3-4? I have seen atleast 7-8 of them

Don't take this the wrong way, but I have always hated anything involving fan fictions. I don't ever say anything against them, because I understand everyone has different tastes, but to me it feels like messing with someone else's thing they have created. Whenever I hear the words "Fan Fiction" It feels like either someone rubbing two pieces of sand paper near my ear or someone sharpening a knife or even when you scratch your nails on a chalkboard.

  • Well, at least you're honest. I'll give you that.

One thing I don't like about most fan fictions is like how you described it: when people change what happens in their story (like Omid lives or Christa and Clementine never encounter the bandits), I immediately lose interest simply because it barely shows any respect for the source material.

  • This kinda makes me a hypocrite, seeing how I'm doing one. Only difference is, I didn't change anything and it doesn't involve other peoples' characters nor does is it involve interactivity from others. It's based on the 16 month time gap in All That Remains. But, like I said, I prefer to stay faithful to the source material.

It's alright. Though just to be clear I'm not going to look at it, even if it became the only Fan Fic to become a New York Times Bestseller.

  • The fanfic I wrote is sort of like that, only I did it about what happens to Clem after Season 1, prior to any information being given out about Season 2. So although it's now pretty much an "alternate universe" sort of deal, there wasn't any source material to be disrespecting when I wrote it.

"What if" scenario fanfics don't really bother me too much, depending on how the're written (although, I don't really read fanfics very much) What bothers me is when people just take Walking Dead characters and put them in scenarios that have nothing to do with The Walking Dead. It's like...why?
