Obviously they're not going to answer all the questions (I think they don't have all the answers either).
Telltale strategy: make a great 1st episode to collect all the Season Passes. Then fill the others 4 episodes.
The story could've fitted in 3 episodes.

After all this series feels very cheap. They missed a great opportunity.

If it is, well, then fuck you telltale.

It really seems like they wanna end TWAU quickly :(

I haven't reaally enjoyed telltale's games since TWD season 1. The episodes were long so there was more content.
I'm not exited anymore, I'm fucking pissed at telltale >:(

Edit: We might still have hope, we don't know if there's choises that makes the episode longer

  • i agree with you, they are just not working hard as they used to do. TWAU ep1 started off where TWD s1 left but since then everything seemed to be rushed.

  • Aside from the actual Length it's also a Question on how you rushing through it by yourself. That means if you are able to investigate a Hub you simply can enjoy it a little more, by just standing there enjoying the Area. That's how i make it.

That's because a first Round of a Series is always the most unique and better one. You haven't experienced anything like it before. I liked for example Batman Arkham Asylum better then City. Because Asylum was a breathtaking Phenomenon for the Superhero Genre in Games. City was great but.. just a Sequel with same Technique you know.

Or Dead Space 1. You can't beat those.

  • I swear to Christ, if they leave it on a cliffhanger I'm going to find out where Shorette lives and shit on his fucking house.

  • Damn it. My worries seem to be warranted...

Gonna try to keep my expectations low so that maybe I'm positively surprised once I play it!

  • TWD S1.

  • Erm... Okay, sure.

  • This is terrible what a disappointment, they make the episodes shorter because it costs them less money and they can still charge the same price and then to cover all this up they make up a bullshit excuse saying they want people to play in "one sitting", I can watch a 2 hour movie straight, I'm sure I can play an episode for 2 hours, but it's their game, they want to fuck it up, let them it only affects them and their reputation.

  • I can watch a 2 hour movie straight, I'm sure I can play an episode for 2 hours

    Go tell them.
I feel this series could've made of 3 episodes, by joining ep 2&3 and 4&5 together, and still be finishing each episode in one sitting.

Take a look at this thread http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/67418/episode-4-also-1-hour-and-20-minutes-long Read the Telltale's staff post. The episode still ended up being as long as the pictures showed.

  • People gotta start speaking up and notifying telltale about their stupid fucking 90 minute rule so they stop.

  • It's not 90 minute anymore it's more like an hour.

  • Its funny how they describe it as "one sitting gameplay length" when i sit down to play a game im engrossed in, such as resident evil and final fantasys back in the day, one of my sittings was anything from 6-10 hours a sitting, which leaves me craving more the next day and excited to pick it back up, lol, i can sit and play TWD season 1 in one sitting let alone one episode of TWAU or of TWD season 2..

  • It must be fake, there's no way the first trophy can be four minutes. Are conversation with The Crooked Man will be way longer than that!

  • I don't see much benefit to this rule; it's not the cinema. You can stop and pick up from where you left any time. You have to wait for the next episode anyway.

  • edited July 2014

The whole episode is just 52 minutes long? I don't think so

EDIT: Oops, didn't count the playtime of chapter 1, so it could be more than one hour, I guess

  • I'll watch a movie in "one sitting" and that movie can be 2 1/2 hours long. These episodes should be longer to get the success of TWDs1.

Yeah, about their 'experiment'... Didn't one of the staff members say that they were trying to cater to the speed-runner crowd at some po

  • Right? Ugh, Telltale is coming up with the most lame excuses to not make the episodes longer.

If you a look at this thread:

    http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/67418/episode-4-also-1-hour-and-20-minutes-long

you'll see that the poster user "Clem_is_awesome" was right about the short length of the episode 4. The episode lasted just 80 min.

Maybe this game ended to look like the trailer of a greater game that never happened.

  • I don't like this like most of you, if not all. But I believe we've spoken out loud once or twice already but no feedback so far. I'm not going to say TTG doesn't listen to us until we see another series (doesn't matter which one) with short length again.

Just give me a special way to REALLY SPEAK OUT LOUD AND I'LL DO ITTTTTTT!

  • If it was just 15 mins of bigby going full wolf and tearing everyone in the crooked mans office to pieces I would be more than satisfied

So you wouldn't care if the game was only 15 minutes long then? Game length matters.

  • Well, then I have to say you have much lower expectations than the vast majority of other people.

A 15 minute game would be ridiculous.

I haven't even bought episode 4 yet and I'm certainly not gonna buy episode 5 either if it really is only 60 minutes long when I got 2 hours long episode with the same amount of money (TWD season 1).

Telltale wants to finish TWAU quickly so they can concernate on tales from whatever gaylands and it's episodes are probably gonna be over 2 hours long >:(

Telltale gots fans, but we are the true fans so why can't they listen us and at least keep the episode lenght at 90 minutes, not make them even shorter :(

  • What did you expect? They are working on TWAU, TWD, TFB and GOT. Shorter episodes but more money. GREED over quality.

  • Might as well call that a demo.

If it was just 15 mins of bigby going full wolf and tearing everyone in the crooked mans office to pieces I would be more than satisfied

  • The achievements above don't count the playtime for chapter 1. It only starts from when chapter 1 was completed. Going off the achievements from that point on, it took 59 minutes to complete. I reckon you can add anywhere from 4 - 20 minutes on top of that.

I haven't even bought episode 4 yet and I'm certainly not gonna buy episode 5 either if it really is only 60 minutes long when I got 2 hours
