The achievements above don't count the playtime for chapter 1. It only starts from when chapter 1 was completed. Going off the achievements … morefrom that point on, it took 59 minutes to complete. I reckon you can add anywhere from 4 - 20 minutes on top of that.
If Telltale Games keep making these episodes like this, they are certain to lose hegemony among studios that release their games in a form of episodes. D4 is coming, so I think that's something TTG should be afraid of. : D Not only that, there are lots of games which can easily beat The Wolf Among Us (this game would have been really awesome if this had been murder mystery with one killer with precise motive, not just organization of people who serve Crooked Man, also I would be nice to have any choice who we suspect, something like in 1. episode, when Snow asks about the culprit, not just bullshit with Crane; I just wish it hadn't been rewritten so many times...).
Personally, I miss quality and time length of 1. season TWD episodes. They were really good and definitely worth its price. The plot was breathtaking and very absorbing. I wanted more and more. Unfortunately I can't say anything like that about TWAU. This game had potential, but it has been wasted. I download next episodes not because I can't wait to play them. The reason rather comes out of bad obligation of downloading just because I paid for Season Pass.
Meh... I just hope TTG won't disappoint us and make last episode as good as first one or maybe even better. Time will tell~~

the first act of episode three ranged from the hotel to the end of the funeral and i didn't interupt it to it took me a little over 20 minutes to get the first one
Ironically No time Left rivals all of Telltale's episodes after that in length. :P
I just wish they went out more with a bang. Multiple projects seem to be hurting them. Provided that there is a future season of either TWD or TWAU I hope they focus solely on one project to add more effort. Please...
If I enjoyed it, I wouldn't care. I can beat the original Lunar game in 6 hours. It is an rpg. Should I think it is bad because it is not a 50 hour RPG..No.
So would you rather enjoy a game for one hour or two hours? Or if we want to exaggerate again, how about 15 minutes?
Obviously if you do in fact enjoy the game, you will want it to last longer. No one is saying the TWAU is bad at all; you're missing the point. I enjoyed the last episode, but I was definitely disappointed that it was only an hour long. Some people don't find an hour's worth of gameplay enough to satisfy their expectations. Can you really argue against that?

come on seriously there is no way those are accurate I mean look at it seriously chapter 2 is only 4 minutes! how can people actually believ… moree that? I bet they are just testing out scenes and they are skipping parts of the episode that don't need to be looked at or something
Yeah someone had a great point of with this "one sitting" bs telltale is trying out (which suspiciously just seems like an easier route to get episodes out faster) I mean, some movies are freaking 3 hours long! Movies are like one sitting things so you can't say people are not capable of not watching movies like that! The only people who probably can't do that (other than if they don't have time, which if they dont have time thats their own problem) is like children! And I'm pretty sure telltale's games are certainly not for children. :P
Look in the Episode 4 length thread and you'll see that a telltale dev. stated that they skip through scenes in the episodes and most of them are not final, they implemented the achivements early to test them out and such.

So that means it could change, regardless of what someone actually takes to complete it. Besides, you're probably gonna want to replay episodes anyway for different choices so that will also add time. If you just speed-run them it obviously won't take as long. And those were most likely dev. and tester achievements so that means they could have finished an early, unfinished and not quite as lengthy episode.

Wow, what a comeback. You think you're such hot sh!t. Even if it is "short" what does it matter. It's better if you actually focus on delivering the story instead of doing fanservice with filler for 3 hours straight. As much as I like Fables, it would feel like it drags on forever. Besides, this is the season finale and they have other games in the pipeline and also TWD 204 this month as well. "lol" all you like but it doesn't change a thing and threads like this are pointless in the first place. Besides, we'll get wolf form finally so it's worth it for that alone.

Great job, that's all speculation. Gotta love thickheads like you.
To quote an actual Telltale developer, and not some random person who has no idea what he's talking about:
ArthurV:
"We wire up Steam achievement unlocks relatively early on in an episode's development when scenes aren't quite done. Note also that we internally have the ability to "fast-forward" through gameplay for testing and bug-fixing purposes. We absolutely put a lot of thought and consideration into allowing options for both speed-runners who want to crit-path through the main storyline and options for completionists who want to stop and smell the roses. The idea being that the episode's length is in part determined by play style."
Now, go be entitled somewhere else. If you don't like it, don't buy it. They aren't forced to make each episode after your liking or anyone else's. They're the devs, not you.
So that means it could change
Yeah, and as the poster stated, it ended up being the same length, but sure, it is a possibility to co… morensider.
Besides, you're probably gonna want to replay episodes anyway for different choices so that will also add time.
Or not.
If you just speed-run them it obviously won't take as long.
No need to speed-run, they're already quite short in their "unrushed" state.
Great, another 12 year old. "lol" all you like, you really can't carry an argument. That's fine, I'm not the one who pulls bullsh!t out of thin air. If you don't like it, don't buy and play it. Simple as that, you're not entitled to anything. Spoiled brat.
Malvus, you're the one getting mad. Clem is awesome is just stating what he/she found you clearly do care about the amount if length if you're saying stuff like. "Well maybe they're just...." Sounds like denial to me.

We both saw that post from @ArthurV, we both played the episode and saw the average time it took to complete it. The change was minimal. I state that it being longer is a possibility, but considering how it happened last time, I would not really count on it.

So, what don't you get? Threads like these are pointless. They'll make the game the way they feel is best. If the optimal length for it is 30 minutes, then it will be 30 minutes. Instead of it being 3 hours of it dragging on with filler and fanservice. You really that thick? YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYTHING

That's abundantly clear.
I think most of us realize they are pointless, but we still do them. Some people still believe it can make a difference. Others simply want to express their dissatisfaction with the direction TT's taking these series.
Will they change the way they make their games? As of now, I'm inclined to cynically say "no".
Do they have the right to express that? Yes. "If you don't like reading these things, don't click on the thread."

That's because you're really thick. How should I know what Telltale is doing, but I trust them, that much is for sure. You go here and you badmouth them for the sake of fanservice and more filler. Why do you think they re-wrote the story? Yeah, exactly. Length has nothing to do with the quality of episodes. and you're not entitled to anything. You don't like it, don't buy it. Would you do the same thing as you did here if you bought an icecream or a car? If you didn't now what you were getting then why did you get it in the first place? Malvus, you're the one getting mad. Clem is awesome is just stating what he/she found you clearly do care about the amount if length if you're saying stuff like. "Well maybe they're just...." Sounds like denial to me.
You must feel entitled to changing a car from a hatchback, to an SUV after buying it as well. You're not entitled, you spoiled brat. Also, if all you can come up with is being condescending at everyone who disagrees with you, then you really are immature. You think you can do a better job? Make your own damn game then. You knew what you were buying.
They'll make the game the way they feel is best. If the optimal length for it is 30 minutes, then it will be 30 minutes.

YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYTHING
Did the game suddenly go free to play ? I must have missed it.

So ignorant, it hurts... you don't realize you do more harm than good with these kinds of threads and shouting stuff you don't even understand. Telltale changed their style of delivering gameplay and they are experimenting with it, give them a chance for crying out loud. This is what they are, take it or leave it. They don't owe you anything. They are giving you what you payed for. You didn't pay for being a game designer in their company, you payed for the game as they deliver it. Sure, they gather feedback here, but threads like these are pointless and don't help them deliver a better product. All you are doing here is, shouting at them to make it to your way. You really are plainly stupid. You do realize that's exactly what you are asking for? Course' not. You really are that thick. You don't even know how videogame development works, do you? The length is a consequence of them changing the story, they re-focused on the actual killer plot instead of screwing around with mundy cops discovering Fabletown.
