  • I completely agree. I haven't been on much at all as of late because I'm tired of the same mud-dragged complaints. Wish people would just enjoy what is going well in the game and talk about it instead of the incessant whining. I'll just enjoy the artwork that is TTG's TWD offline and stray away from here for awhile.

  • It was his reason why the people of the forum make it unenjoyable. So that's what.

  • Making a thread announcing you are leaving the forum, but than you say that we can message you ? It doesn't seem like you are leaving. Lets be honest with ourselves. If you were actually fed up with the forums you would have just left without creating a parade for yourself via this thread.

  • Why should people just ignore what they dislike? I mean, if I suggested you simply look for the good in the complaints, would that actually do anything? Would that get you to stop complaining about complaints? No. You would still be annoyed/peeved/whatever emotion they stir up in you, and you would still be within your rights to speak about it. Why should people who disagree with you be held to any differing standards?

  • I'm not saying ignore it. I'm saying that seeing the entire board filled with the same 3 overused arguments is a turn off when I come here for new ideas, theories, stories, and other interests. If you don't like something, speak your mind, but there comes a point when speaking your mind turns to running your point into the ground, which has happened to the fullest extent of the idea on this forum. It's repulsive at this point.

  • Interesting... I haven't been on here in what? A year or two? Back when TWDG S1 ended. Even then, the vocal minority had nasty things to say about TT, threatening to boycott the first season, but I am a pretty cheerful guy in even the worst of times and didn't really care what people said. TT has given me some enjoyable experiences out of their games I have played(JP, TWD seasons one and two, didn't know they existed until they took on Jurassic Park).

Interesting that things haven't changed that much but there's no changing peoples opinions. I came back for news on the next episode and maybe sharing some opinions with fellow fans, may the majority that love these games not be as vocal.

Whether you take a break from the forum, like I did, or stick around, you've made a new friend right here. :)

  • I've seen far too many of these "I'm leaving threads". It's a shame, I swear this forum is falling apart. All of the regulars are gone, but I'm never leaving. We will get through this uneasy time eventually.

  • some people just have very different opinions than you. telltale could make this game have 20 different endings and there will be a small but very loud part of this community that will hate it. i mean look at some of these messed up people saying how only luke and clem should survive so they can have a chance at love. the hell is that? i don't like it so i do my best to ignore it.

  • Then why would you suggest people "just enjoy what is going well"? That sure sounds to me like you're saying "stop complaining". A silencing tactic, if ever I've seen one.

It seems to me that if the same three arguments keep getting brought up, that there just might be a problem. At the least, it's something a portion of the audience doesn't like. I would actually encourage people to keep bringing them up as that is more likely to get Telltale's attention. That is the goal, after all. I'm sorry if that doesn't suit your fancy, but it's the way things work. Asking dissatisfied customers to focus on the positive does nothing to quell the situation and only serves to rile them up even further. Nothing pisses people off more than someone trying to dismiss their complaints by changing the subject. Let me put it another way; would you appreciate it if I told you to focus on what you hated about the episode/season? You likely don't want to do that, yet you want others to consider your perspective? No one is telling you or anyone else to stop posting praise, even if it's been said countless times before. Please, do not ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself..

The one thing I will agree on is the tone. I wish people would be more polite, but there's an unfortunate truth here. When a company's core fanbase feels forgotten, they can get quite testy. Sometimes, it is the rude responses that should be listened to (not word for word, but the general idea that someone is angry). The tough part is differentiating between the angry posts that truly want the product to be better, and those that are merely attention seeking.

  • At this point it is a silencing tactic. As I stated before the complaints have been driven through the ground. The board consisting of 3 arguments... over and over and over again... is boring to say the very least.

It is a portion, a loud portion, not a majority portion. If they want to continue bringing it up that's fine. But filling the board and pushing the other conversations aside (of which I may actually like to see them) is condemning the forum to that of those three arguments and those three arguments alone. Ridiculous. Continue whining in the same post for example, instead of opening 50 posts stating the same complaint. I have posted many times the flaws I see with this season and last season. I have done the same with the pros. It's very contemptuous of you to say I'm not willing to do what I ask.

  • Well, I'm sorry, but these forums are not for your personal use. If others use them in a way you don't appreciate, that's life. You may continue to tell people they're doing it wrong, but if they choose not to listen, oh well. If the mods don't want this behavior, they will deal with it.

Forgive my incredulity, but I don't buy it when you say you have asked people praising the game to stop posting the same things over and over again. That would just be raining on their parade. If that makes me contemptuous, then so be it. I'm not opposed to voicing my contempt for something or someone.

  • Perhaps I worded that poorly. Let me rephrase it then. These forums are like a playground. You're welcome to play in it, as are others. If others play in a way that you don't like, tough. So long as they are not hurting anyone or anything, it doesn't matter if they are playing a game that others have already played. The same goes for you; no one can force you to be silent with your criticisms, but I sure can call you a hypocrite.

Again, yes. I'm being contemptuous. What is your point? Does that in any way change the validity of my point?

I looked into your posting history, and based on what was there, I saw no mention of you telling other people to stop bringing up the same points of praise that have been mentioned before. Granted, the history only shows so many posts, so if you can point me to an example of such a post, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, I don't believe you. I maintain that you have a double standard when faced with opinions you dislike.

  • 1) If this is a playground, then these children are cursing and screaming at the top of their lungs. Things not, or should not be, acceptable.

    2) It does only show you so far. And I won't waste my time trying to find an old thread to prove my point. Those who actually know me (er... as far as the forum is concerned) know where I am and how I stand.

  • Amazing character development? For who? It just seemed like an episode that centered around Jane and then she left?
You barely got to talk to anyone during the hubs.
The only puzzle i remember is reaching Sarah.

  • Your argument was about the same complaints being brought up time and time again. Such behavior is permissible on a public forum, just as children screaming is permissible at a playground. Whether you think it should not be permitted does not change that it is permitted. Go ahead and tell those screaming kids on the playground to stop screaming. See how many of them listen to you, and how many of their parents appreciate you trying to discipline them.

I had no idea backing up your claims is considered a "waste of time". Well, shit. Every day's a school day. What other people know about you is irrelevant to me. I don't know you. I tried to find information to confirm or refute your claim. Nothing came up, so I asked you to give me an example. You chose not to. Fair enough. I can't force you to do anything. You can't stop me from calling you a hypocrite.

    2) It is when I need to forage though old threads to prove a point to someone I have no reason to prove anything to. How about you find every thread I've ever posted in and prove your point correct? Or is that a waste of your time?

  • No. Screaming outside is not rude or indecent. Annoying, perhaps, but the outdoors is the exact place kids are supposed to let out that kind of energy. When you were a kid, did you never have the excess energy and a desire to just use it? Did your parents never tell you "do that outside!"?

Neither is repeating the same complaint lodged against something considered rude. You liking it has no influence whatsoever.

Did you miss the part where I tried? You have a much better idea than I do about which threads you've posted. Instead of pointing me to one where I can confirm that I was wrong, you refer to it as a waste of time. So no, it was not a waste of my time. I simply didn't find what you said was there. You would have a better idea of where to look. I ask once again; where can I find a post where you complain about people raising the same points of praise in regards to this forum? Just point me in the general direction, please. Until then, I have no reason to believe you would do something like that because that's generally not how people behave. Unless you're telling me you actually make a habit out of raining on people's fun... In which case, you're not a hypocrite. You're a jerk.

  • 1) To scream and curse at the local playground? I, and my parents, weren't so rude or indecent.

    2) It is rude when it pushes other conversations off the board to throw the same argument in, yet again.

    3) You tried, finding a minuscule fraction of my posts. So your tries were for not. It is a waste of your time to look through all of my posts though, or you would do it, correct?

The general direction is the search bar. Type in Viva-La-Lee and you should be showered in posts you can look through to your hearts content. You may have no reason to believe me, but I have no reason to care you believe me. And I am a jerk, but you shouldn't be throwing out nasty attacks at people like that :)
