First: I am smart, but my name's not Alec.
Second: I once did that and I got in jail for three months.

    Okay, let's change the subject:

Did you ever try leaving the DSi music making thing for a few minutes without touching it? It starts playing a familiar tune. (I only saw it in a youtube video, so I don't know what the music program is actually called)

    Um, no. The mario theme.

I screamed into it and I enjoy hearing myself scream in several different ways.

I like putting things through the "low harmony" filter a few times. It sounds like I'm a robot. Or L.

Someday I will have enough disposable income to get a DSi!...

Oh well, It's not like they're gonna sell out here considering everyone thinks they won't make DSi exclusive games

I've been having quite a bit of fun with the photo editor.

Has anyone else gotten sort of a Death Note vibe from the low harmony filter?

Whoops. My bad. Didn't notice that part of the post.

Looks like these things are more fun than I expected. I'm currently on the fence about getting one for myself, though. I know I would love the camera, audio, and maybe the interwebs, even more so with a touch screen. I also have lots of trade-in credit at my local game store, so it won't hurt my wallet that much. However, I'm still stuck with my old DS Phat, which probably won't get me any credit because it's now officially an antique. Also, I need some new games. The most recent game I bought for my DS was probably...New Super Mario Bros. Anyone know a few good games I can pick up at a low price?

Kirby Squeak Squad, any of the Ace Attorney series (Phoenix Wright & Apollo Justice), Kirby Power Paintbrush/Canvas Curse, Pokemon D/P/Plat, Mario and Luigi: Partners in time, FFIV, Chrono Trigger DS and to a lesser extent Starfox Command.

    That good enough for ya?
  • edited April 2009
Well, I've tried Squeak Squad and I almost beat Canvas Curse. I'll have to check out Chrono Trigger, Ace Attourney, and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. How is Professor Layton and the Curious Village? Any other good ones?

If you like old-school RPGs the Dragon Quest remakes are about as good as they can get. Final Fantasy IV is also great, as well as Chrono Trigger. I'd also try The World Ends With You, which is probably the best DS game alongside Ace Attorney 3 :D. Other than RPGs you've got the Castlevania series, Time Hollow, Hotel Dusk, Elite Beat Agents, Henry Hatsworth, GTA Chinatown... Quite a good handheld indeed.

Professor Layton is pretty good too, it's more or less a graphic adventure, but it's mostly about solving puzzles like "If you get past the second car in a race, which place would you be in?". So it depends on how much you like those.

Thanks, LittleBuddy, I'll check those out. I've pretty much decided to pick a DSi up at this point. However, I've heard Rhythm Heaven is amazing. How is that? I like those puzzling adventures a lot, so I'll have to check Professor Layton out. For those who already have a DSi, are any of these games' demos on the DSi Shop? Thanks for all your help!

I will tell you: Professor Layton is an excellent game. In fact, I was so excited for the sequels I ordered the third game from Japan. Even though I speak almost no Japanese.

I can't speak Japanese at ALL.

By the way, isn't that considered spam?

Eh, if it is, I'll contribute something to the topic...

I do want one of these. For the main purpose of having a web browser and camera and...other thing with me. It just seems awesome.

Sadly DS demos are officially distributed only by the Wii, you need one if you want to download them. There's a way to download some and use them if you have a wi-fi point, but I don't know if that works with the DSi.

Rhythm Heaven is the sequel to an awesome GBA game, Rhythm Tengoku. It's about playing little mini-games where you have to tap the screen or press a button with the music. It can be pretty hard at times though :D

Any Pokemon Version (I personally reccomend Platinum), Professor Layton, GTA Chinatown Wars, Elite Beat Agents (also if you import games, Ouendan 1 and 2), the Dragon Quest remakes, The World Ends With You (not your father's RPG), Trauma Center: Under The Knife, any Ace Attorney, Hotel Dusk. All games I loved.

Did you push the power button?

    It's a joke :)

Better call the Nintendo customer support or blame the shop where you bought it.

Or you could always sue Nintendo and make a few hundred easy bucks.

It wouldn't be the first time someone has sued Nintendo for something that's not their fault. I wish all these moms who have children in the casual gamer group would stop going overboard when their child is called FAAAAT and it hurts their feelings.

I guess I'll just return it to Nintendo to get fixed. Hope it will come back soon. Like in a week or so.

Think we'll see a DSi virtual Console anytime soon? Nintendo's denying it. (Just like they're denying Professor Layton 2 coming out EVEN THOUGH LEVEL 5 CONFIRMED IT. >_>)
  • edited April 2009
    no. no i cant.
  • edited April 2009
    probably

sorry, but I though "telltale sound" was a music download service from telltale games....or something.

No because Nintendo doesn't listen to it's original fans. And besides, They'd never put anything GOOD on it, Like Starwing.

There aren't enough Kirby games on the Wii

I'd actually reccomend the iPhone over the DSi. It has many more features, including a camera.

I have an iPod touch, and that's fun enough. I can only assume that the iPhone apps would be even funner! :D

Yes, Because you can play Pokemon or Chrono Trigger on an iPhone

On another note, I got one last Sunday. Black, and even got a free copy of Chrono Trigger DS (They didn't have a copy of Disgaea so this was my fallback plan).
