Sorry, I'm afraid you're in the Fan Art thread of the Tales of Monkey Island forum of the Telltale Games website. This post belongs in the Useless Crap thread of the Shameless Advertising forum of the website for Annoying People Who Waste My Time! Kindly go away.
Um, you do realize you're talking to a bot, right?
where'd he get the sword from anyways? is it like the shovel, where they were going to have him get it, but decided not 2? (they being telltale)
Every real pirate has a sword and shovel in case they need them! Much like Sam always has Max in case he needs somebody beaten up (only in Hits the Road do you find Max in your inventory).

Yeah. And you better not ask where Max keeps his gun... There is only one possible answer and... you know...
haha! the walkplank redemption xD
that's just cool
I also made a drawing of Guybrush showing his catch of the day to the fisherman on Phatt island
maybe anyone knows some sort of dialog for this scene? xD
like
Phatt Fisherman: "That's nothing! I once caught something -this- big!"
Anemone: "Ha! I've had bigger then that "
Seagull: "squah?"

You captured anemone's personality very well! (reminds me of a saucy ex! )
There's some seriously good art throughout this thread. Does anyone think that adventure game fans are generally more artistic then, say... FPS fans? Can't say I've seen much in the way of cool Halo fan-art, but then again I can't say I've much looked for Halo fan art!
*shivers*

*shivers as well* And strangely, I consider myself an FPS fan. But not a Halo fan... In fact I'm having a bit of trouble throwing us FPS old-timers into the same kettle as the Halo crowd.
Unreal, Quake, Doom, Half-Life and to a certain extent Battlefield and Call of Duty. That's what I associate with FPS games, not that hyped-up Halo stuff.
And I think the behaviour is different for these groups as well. Back in the Quake days, when I was a happy teenager we didn't just talk about these games. We made them. We waited eagerly for the level editors and started making our own worlds. We created artwork inside the game and I dare say that this requires a certain amount of creativity as well. I don't think that group was less creative than the adventure game folks, just different. Few drawings, but a lot of great texture work and fantastic models came out of the FPS community. Not to mention awesome gameplay.
The Halo (and comparable games) crowd on the other hand seem more like the typical fanboys. It's more about feeling superior that creating something.

Definitely! Adventure games are much thinking games, and as consequence adventurers must be thinkers and probably (hopefully) creative too.
Adventure games are based on story, puzzles, good graphics and animation, music, all stuff that develops creativity. I consider I'm about 1000000% creative than if I had never seen the art of Monkey Island 2 and enjoyed its magnificent music. That's not to say that I don't like FPS, but I would hate to play just FPS!
Your tastes don't reflect your inner creativity, nor your artistic talents. Some of the best art I've seen has been done over (in my opinion) worthless stuff like most superheroes or Naruto or something.

Argggg, I just deleted my post by mistake  So, here goes again:
I agree entirely with what you say. I too grew up playing many a classic FPS, as well as adventures and other genres. I have fond memories of such greats as Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Dark Forces, Jedi Knight and Half-Life.
I also spent a large portion of my youth creating custom levels. I made a quality (and big) level using Duke Nukem 3D's 'Build' engine. It's set in a futuristic shopping mall, under attack from aliens and features a supermarket, fast food joint's and an adults only area (well, I was 16 at the time) featuring a cinema (playing a dirty movie - natch), strip joint, motel, gun shop, swimming pool (with sharks of course), a travel agents and rocket ship launcher (to launch you to safety and hence finish the level).
The hardest part was creating a construction area where an earthquake was triggered when the player walked within to reach a keycard.
I also made a map of my parents old house (which is a handy thing to have for reliving old memories ) and a recreation of the cabin from the Evil Dead films. Let me know if anyone has a copy of Duke Nukem 3D and wants to play any of these levels.
Wow, I've really moved from the original point of the post! Damn you hansschmucker for bringing back such nostalgic memories
I agree about Halo (hence my earlier shiver) but I would like to make it clear that if anyone on this forum is a fan of that series then that's cool and I respect you. *Just covering my ass*
Wow, that needs a bit of cleanup. I've attached a pure black and white version that should be easier to colour, but in the long run you might want to look at something like Paint.NET or GIMP for drawing.
Edit: dang, the forum is scaling it down. Give me a sec.
Madre de Dios!!!?!
woah, dudes! who farted those pixlies on my drawing ò__õ
most artists think it'd be awesome when their work is being edited under their approval though (PM would be nice)
but since you kids seem to be having fun already and stuff xDD
anyharrr, here's my colouragement ~
thanks Davies! ^___^
I blurred off the pier indeed
first of all because there's no lineart, second because it "centeres" the whole drawing! how artsy of me!!!
it "centeres" the whole drawing! how artsy of me!!!
I had considered the possibility that might be the reason, none the less it wouldn't take too much work to fill in the rest of the pier, would it? Just for the sake of having an alternative version because if you do that then it your already brilliant picture would be perfect in my eyes
Nice job, Irishmile. That's looks really cool, although I do agree with you in that Yoshiwam's is nicer overall. What I admire most about your version though, is the night-sky background. It's gorgeous, I think you have the same love for a COMI night-sky, complete with 'cheese-moon' as I do
Actually, it's the 1001th post. BAHAHA, fail.
Sorry. >.<
I've been trying to get my art up, but my dad's scanner is the only one I can use at the moment, and I haven't been over to his house in a while. Fear not, though! I'll be going there this weekend.
But, I make no promises.
Comments
No, actually he's ambidexterous.
What you should be saying is that that 3D picture is freaking awesome. xD
Actually, in MI 1 & 2, he is left handed, in MI3 & MI4 he is right handed, in tales, he is Lefthanded again.
At least, when carrying a sword.
Um, you do realize you're talking to a bot, right?
Yeah, but I have to vent my anger at the person who created the bot somehow though (even if they can't hear me) .
Yep, I did.
So, how long do you think it'll be before he does the "I'm not left handed either!" trick?
In ToMI chapter 2 he is obviously carries a sword in right hand

I do rather life his colors better though in the one above.
