Why are people so nasty about transgender people?

  • Im not taking that shit from someone who said all Muslims are murderers because of some lines in there holy book.

Never said that. I did say that Islam preaches the killing of the infidels (since that it what they say in their holy books), but I NEVER said that all Muslims are murderers.

All holy scripture has messages of hatred and condones killing in the name of god.

    Not necessarily.

Its funny how you translate the message in your bible metaphoricaly yet the korran in your opinion is straight up and open to no interpretation at all.

In the koran they give direct commandments, they don't skirt around anything, they make it clear.

I'm not taking anything as a metaphor, I'm just saying that it would be ridiculous to assume that Yeshua, the one who preached for unconditional love to all people in the name of God, said people to just hate their parents for no reason, there's logic behind what I'm saying, the skill of deduction is a very valuable one.

  • Very nicely put.
I myself, was not wanting to cause a religious debate, hence is why I did not reply to his last comment.
As I stated in a previous post, I shared that scripture to help prove the point I was making.

I've never personally met anyone who's discriminated against transgender or homosexuals or heterosexuals, so I'd guess I'm lucky for that, though I've never asked people's opinion on the subject as I just go with the flow. So long as people try to be nice and respect other people I don't mind. Hell, even if they were A-holes I'd still try to be as respectful as possible.

As long as you don't know the biological structure of the brain, I don't think you have the right to talk about "defects" and that "some people" are put in the "wrong body".

You can try to understand it by reading it off someone's face, but as long as you can't read it DIRECTLY, then no one has a 100% accurate saying about this.

  • Are you serious? Transsexuals are not homosexuals (not necessarily). Let's consider the opposite scenario, a man becomes a woman, but is still attracted to women - is he straight or lesbian?

The idea that mtf transsexuals are feminine gays who want to become woman is all part of the heteronormative myth that all relationships, even gay ones, have a man and a woman.

Just saw that there were some new posts in this thread.
And while I was here, I began re-reading this conversation, that you, Squishy Cthulhu, and myself participated in.
And after reading your final comment, I wanted to add this thought.

I think what we choose to stand for, as people, comes not only from the environment we're raised in, but also by what we experience in life.
But the thing is, for a person to have decency, if you will, they have moral principles.
They have to have firm beliefs that certain things are right, and that certain things are wrong.
Without those things, people are capable of anything, and the prison system is filled with people who are prime examples of that fact.

And thank you for your kind word, as to what type of father I'd make.

Well I'd hope that everyone, man or woman, would stand by their principles unless they had a change of heart. If it's what you believe in, then stand by it, no matter how unpopular it may make you. You'd make a very good father.

  • No problem. And nice seeing you back :)

    Thanks!

Hey what did you think of last night's episode?

I'll tell you, when that guy Pete came to visit Rick, he wasn't there to be friends.
What he was saying: "I may not be combat-tested like you, but I'm still a bad man to mess with. You stay away from my wife, she is mine, and I'll do what I like with her! And if you dare to interfere with me, I'll seriously make you regret it."

Guys who abuse their wives, or girlfriends, are often very jealous, and very controlling.
They hate for their girlfriends to talk to anyone else, especially other guys.
And because of that, they're often times very dangerous.
And sometimes, they can make their spouse so afraid, that their spouse is to afraid to leave them.

No problem. And nice seeing you back

  • Lol haven't seen the episode yet. But you're very right. I think men abusing women is a result of them being raised to think women are simply prizes for nobody but them. Then, when faced with reality, they take their frustration out on their girlfriends or wives thinking that they'll get their way in doing so.

  • As you go through life, you will meet those types of people, ones that "discriminate" against anyone who's not straight.

  • When I posted this I didn't realise how right wing the majority of this forum are, I was worried for a moment that this was the average persons opinion of trans people. It makes sense now, and in hindsight, this wasn't the best place to post something of this sort.

If you want to continue discussing the legitimacy of trans people, then fine, have at it guys.

Since everything that could be said on the topic has already been said, I'm going to go ahead and close this. Since we have people on this forum of all genders, it's best not to leave this open when it's just being used as a joke and meme thread now.
