    1. I think Zelos.

    2. The Bloodbath and Emily's training. Emily's training shocked me because I thought my character would be a complete wuss throughout the whole games xD

    3. None, everything is brilliant so far.

    4. Emily, Cheyenne, and Alara.

    5. Satina because I know she'll kill off a lot of my favourites.

    6. Emily because I'd like to see how her plan is going! c:

    7. To be honest, I'm not sure at this point as a lot of the tributes that are alive right now has proper potential to win. :/

    Emily: District 4

The girl from five had run from us for at least half an hour now, elusively moving through the forest. Unfortunately for her we were faster. Well, not fake Emily. Fake Emily required to stop every thirty seconds, didn’t know how to tie a knot, couldn’t kill a fly. It might sound bad but I was looking forward to the day I showed that I was an actual threat. I created a new plan. Final eight, I’d run for it, take what I need from the careers and let the others fight it out. I chose eight because typically that’s when they’ll start having features of each tribute from their family and friends. I really should’ve told my mother my plan, I can’t even fathom what’s going through her mind right now.

She makes out for what I can only assume to be a meadow, I can only assume so because the dark forest canopy disappears. A small pocket of empty land is ahead of us. Five of us stand face to face, the pair from six and the girl from five. The pair from six dart’s for the woods, but the girl from five is too slow from her fall. John plunges his spear into her heart.

John walks up to her, I’m hesitant, but genuinely curious. I look down on her. Her body is surrounded by wild grass. She’s still alive, but barely. Her breaths are weak, she’s quickly losing all the color on her face. John goes closer and reaches for the spear lodged in her chest. I want to reach out, hold her hand and comfort her. But it’s not my place, I’ve never said so much as a word to her. So instead I stay from afar and watch, her amber eyes look at me, filled with anger, hatred, tears. Until they go blank, her cannon fires.

    BAM!

If I was her, I’d stay in the woods. Hide out for a bit, maybe climb a tree. I shouldn’t care, it’s just one less tribute to deal with, right? I reach for the rope tied around her hands. This would be good when I decided to start trapping people, when I made my break from the careers.

The walk back to the Cornucopia takes ten times longer than it does to run away. It’s filled with disgruntled silence, until John finally speaks.

“I hate to see people suffer.” John admits. By the sound of his voice I couldn’t tell if he was joking or not.

“John you killed three people today. That’s not exactly what I believe anymore.” Maybe I should just stop talking. He’s the only ally I trust, to how much I don’t know anymore

“It’s what we have to do Emily, that’s how you win.” I know this. For fifteen years I’ve known this. Well, not fifteen years that would make me an infant. Ten years, that would place me at five. Still, it’ll be a harsh reality for everybody. My little sister, Ava no older than a year will eventually face this, but there’s no way she’d be reaped. I wouldn’t let it happen.

“Would you kill me if it came down to it?” I cross my arms. John stops walking, his back is faced towards me when he says “No.”

Liar. I think to myself. I know John must be dying to go home. I have a little sister, barely a year old that I want to see grow up. John has his family, granted they might be terrible people. It’s only when we arrive back to the Cornucopia that I realize what he meant.

I’m going to die before he has the chance to.

My face is a blank slate. But inside a flurry of emotions run through me. Anger, sadness, confusion.

I see Ash, Celia and Satina are already circled around the mouth of the Cornucopia. Packing up all the good stuff, a tent that could surely protect from any weather, dozens of apples in a bag, loaves of bread, canteens and weapons. John without hesitation walks on up, I hesitantly follow close behind.

“That boy from eleven got one of my knives!” Celia pouts. There’s something about it that reminds me of Ava’s tantrums when she gets hungry. I manage to mask my smirk, but part of me wants to grin it all so she fully knows I don’t like her.

“Where’s Tiger?” Satina’s icy blue eye’s dart around the flat expanse, until her glare is pointed towards Ash, Ash is stumped for words. “Well?”

“The hovercraft just took him.” Ash reveals. I try my best to look stunned, like he was a friend, but that’s just one less person to deal with me slitting my throat in the middle of the night. "Girl from ten. Got this though." He pulls out a six inch knife, a smile arises from his face.

“Fucking great…” Satina rolls her eyes. “Do you know how much our chances of winning just lowered?” I stand there as Satina barks us out.

“Well,” John pauses. “Emily killed her first tribute in the woods, the girl from five.”

What? My lips form the words but I manage to hold my tongue.

“Oh really?” Satina raises her eyebrows and crosses her arms, obviously she doesn’t believe it for a second. Celia let’s out a small laugh. “If you’re trying to be funny John, it’s working.”

“Why would I lie about this?” He replies. Oh John, shut up, shut up, shut up! I think. He’s going to ruin the plan! The plan I’ve been working so hard on!

“Nice job, four.” Ash pats me in the back. Are they really believing this? Or are they just faking? If I met fake Emily I would never believe it. I try to change the subject. “Why are we packing?”

“We’re moving to the meadow.” Celia informs me. “There’s a lake.”

“No really, I’m dying to know if you actually killed her four.” Despite my attempt, Satina guides us back to topic.

[Lie and say you killed the girl] [Admit you haven’t]

Sorry for the wait! It took a while to get back into the swing of things.

  • [Admit you haven't] Kinda on the fence. If she lies, they'll respect her more and likely won't betray her soon, but if she admits the truth she sticks to the plan, a plan that's been in effect for three years.

    Troy: District 7

For the next several hours, Alara and I switch from steady jogging to walking to put as much distance from us and the tributes until there's no other tributes for miles. The forest begins to evolve, some trees are recognizable some aren’t. I’m grateful really, this arena was everything I could hope for. And as far as I know, most of it is woods. It calms me a little.

The solitude however, is just an illusion. There’s no such thing as privacy in the games. Panem, especially The Capitol is watching us. Not consistently but on and off. Watching a two tributes trekking through the forest isn’t much to look at when there’s already been so many deaths. I recount the cannons. One, two, three… nine. That leaves fifteen tributes to go.

The woods begin to evolve and the pines are intermixed with a variety of trees. There’s some completely foreign to district seven but most are familiar. It’s funny, with all that gorging of the food in the Capitol we’ve been managing to go strong for a good while now.

After moving the entire day, Alara finally sits down. “I think we’re clear.” She sits herself down on a log.

“You can never be too sure about that.” I remind her. I sit in a long just adjacent to her. At least now I have time to really examine the arena. I feel an odd sense of joy from being back in the woods. It’s everything I could’ve hoped for in an arena. Large arena, lot’s of forest, soft rolling hills mixed with mountains all around the arena. It almost reminds me of home, but even better is that it’s going to be next to impossible to find someone.

We had moved to likely the lowest points of the arena. Inside a valley, anxiety sets in, if anyone comes from above they’ll have the vantage point. But our best chance of finding a stream is a low point. One of us should’ve grabbed a canteen, that way we’d be able to get out of here without dying of dehydration. Resentment towards Alara sets in. But then I realize I’m just as much to blame.

“You think we’ll get sponsors soon?” I ask her.

“It’s a strong maybe, that’s for sure.” She jokes about it. It’s only because the alternative is to be scared out of your wits. Maybe we could craft a weapon, but what is there to play off of? It’d take hours without a knife and the results would be disappointing.

We might be the furthest away from the Cornucopia but that does nothing to ease my nerves. I look down at my hands shaking. It’s only the smell of pine that relieves me.

“Why did they give us parkas if it’s not even going to be cold?” I bring up. It is cold, like the midst of district seven’s fall, it’s more pleasant after running than cold however.

“Maybe it’ll get colder at night.” Alara points out. To which I look at the setting sun, a purple tint in its color. I highly doubt it. The parka is thin, a knife could pass through just like any regular clothing, but it’s insulated so well I think I may have worked up a sweat from the hours of running.

Alara and I sit around the log, my teeth have began chattering from the cold, only because I haven’t worked up a sweat from running anymore. Night has just come when the anthem that recaps the dead tributes. Above the trees I can see the seal of the Capitol, which appears to be floating in the sky. When the anthem fades the sky is still lit by the spectacular array of colors from an aurora. Simple headshots of the fallen are projected onto the sky.

The first to appear is the district one male with scars along his face. This catches me by surprise, typically all the careers make it through the first night. Both tributes from three, no surprise there, they had terribly low scores. The sly girl from five, that means her partner with the cropped blonde hair is still alive. The girl from eight, an attractive girl with wavy blonde curls. The boy from eight, I’m surprised the girl survived. The boy from ten, I was expecting he’d make it further. The girl from eleven and the girl from twelve are the last two to wrap up, both no older than thirteen.

“Well,” I sigh. “That was fun, I think I’ll stay up as look out tonight.” I’m only halfheartedly joking.

“No way.” Alara interjects. “You heard our escort, ‘Ladies first!’” She imitates the Capitol accent. Slacked jaw, high pitched, raising the tone as if they’re asking a question. It’s impossible not to imitate.

“No but really, help me help you. You can get tomorrow.” She persists. I don’t know if I can go to sleep, I haven’t realized until now how dry my mouth is.

[Stay on look out] [Let Alara stay on lookout]
