I am pretty sure we all know that there has been a lot of fan-fics being started while we wait for Episode 4. A lot of fan-fics have been started, and if you aren't already aware, the mods have moved them to the Forum Games section. I understand why they did it, but here's the thing.
No one goes to the Forum Games section. Also, I don't see how fan-fics are really a "game." Yes, we vote for what happens next and all, but the main point of it is to read and enjoy the story. These people put a lot of time into these fan-fics and everyone who submits their characters love reading their own character. It's fun for everyone. But every since they have been moved to the Forum Games section, a lot of them have decreased immensely of readers and some of them even considered stopping.] due to lack of readers, which is unfortunate.
Telltale should add a section on these forums specifically for fan-fics. People will definitely go there to check out and see if there are any fan-fics. It will also increase the audience of fan-fics. I mean, there will definitely be more fan-fics coming around. They are growing on us and pretty much everyone here enjoys them. We can keep them in the Forum Games for now, but I feel like many authors of fan-fics are being treated unfairly, not because of the mods, but simply because no one will go to the Forum Games section to just check out a fan-fic unless it's really popular started by a well-known user (no discrimination, but it's the truth). Don't forget that a lot of people are starting to lose track of them now, since there are so many at the moment and that the Forum Games section also has real contests, it's very unorganized and it's hard to keep track of the stories.
I hope this is an added feature. I know some of us may not care, but I'm sure the authors do. I know I probably went over the top and ranted for too long over fan-fics, but I feel bad for the authors because I feel like their work should be more noticed. Please add this Telltale!

After being on this forum for almost a year now, I've noticed that including a thumbs down rating system has only encouraged users to become angry, support obscene discussions, and defame other people's comments/threads for absolutely no reason at all. Google has picked up on this phenomenon on Youtube's comments and adopted an only "thumbs up" system, just like Facebook has. I wish to request that Telltale follows this path too on all their forums. It would greatly improve the experience and positivity of this website.
A very valid point, it seems at this point it's only used as a weapon for trolls to annoy users anonymously. If you disagree with someone's opinion, all you would have to do would be respond to them and voice your disagreement. And if you're a troll, you could feck off.
Millions of years of hunting got us to the point where a little icon with some thumbs down causes permanent psychological damage. People should just reinforce their self-esteem.

If you mean for people receiving thumbs down to "reinforce their self-esteem", then you don't realize you're supporting negative behavior and lack self-esteem yourself. What you say is only true to those who thumb others down. If these users reinforced their self esteem they wouldn't feel the need to put others down and establish a negative situation by picking on other people. No one needs to ever feel whatever they post is something that's bad and that they have to accept it because certain people are given power to vandalize whatever you post. It falls into the line of bullying and it is in fact psychologically damaging. Which is all why Telltale should change the rating system.

Agreed. And I had a similar idea myself actually, a one that has all of the games in large boxes of sorts and you can click on them to expand their discussions. While keeping them all on the one page at once. Doesn't sound too good putting it into text though (my one, your one's better since you have pictures and stuff).

I really don't care about the thumbs myself, but I just thumbs-upped this one. The only thing it loses is the message preview we currently have, where you can see the top threads in each section without having to go into that section first. For the newer games, there isn't much of a need for this, because you already know there's a ton of activity before you go in. However, for the older games, it's helpful to just be able to scroll past and see if anyone actually posted anything in them recently, without having to go into the sections first.
Any sort of "preview" would be OK, like hovering over the image and seeing a "tool tip" pop up with the three threads with most recent activity.
Even with the current design, General Chat is closed with no preview. If it were opened like the other message areas, it might get more activity just from that.

A great way for members to connect rather than using a bugged PM system or double posting threads for discussions ad chats with eachother. The shout/chatbox is a common thing in forums and people can post updates, highlights announcements way easier this way. Though there is a difference.
Shoutbox: Chat to post announcements only, no drama or trolling or intense discussions.
Chatbox: Place where everything is allowed except the most hateful kind of fights trolls or anything else that upsets or annoys someone. Flooding spamming and much more.
Telltale has to decide which. But it'd be great if they decide to add something like this because I would love to get to know people more and with this its way easier.

Moderators could give shoutbox access permissions to people who can apply/ask for it and have enough posts like 50? Trolls can always be forum banned but a normal Chatbox always has its trolls. Yeah, you'll see people with staff tags pop up on these forums occasionally. We also relay the suggestions made in this thread to the web team, so they do know what people have suggested, so things you suggest in here will be heard by the right people.

One of the biggest problems with a chat box is that this forum has so many posts a day that a chat box would be very hard to follow since the posts would fly by so fast. Just look at how fast the forum of the dead lounge thread gets new posts. A chat box works well on low or medium activity forums, but not so well on ones with high activity such as we have here.

Listen, haters! y cant you just respect others point of view of things! the dislike button is like the worst thing telltale folks have ever created, people are just excited to put there own point of view! and BOOM (Here Comes a wave of huge dislikes from argument insecure folks! ) it would be more than okay if telltale ever remove there dislike weapon from these forums! and by the way, please haters, learn to respect other's perspectives please learn to adapt!
Seriously? I look at whatever dislikes I get as an achievement. It pleases me that someone hates me enough to dislike everything I say, and it's even better when I have made someone mad at me.
There are definitely a ton of dislike trolls going around, but someone actually disliking a comment is not really a big deal. If someone can't take someone not liking their opinion online, they should rethink themselves.
I have a suggestion for a new thread that could replace the "No News Yet" threads, really improve the forums, and increase the morale of visitors and forum users.
This new thread is one that could get updated frequently(preferably every other day) and follows up on the process of the current episode that Telltale is working on. For example, "We just finished recording!" or "Animation is done!". This special thread may also include pictures from the Telltale studio or even just miscellaneous ones to joke and get more interactive with the fans. And all done without disclosing any private or licensed information, of course.
I really do have faith in this idea and recommended it numerous times in The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us forums, to great reception.
