Thanks, lol. Like I said, i want confirmation first just to be sure, but it makes sense. The way the women were gutted with their insides, even their sex organs removed. He did say he planted babies in half a dozen mothers. That could be the babies he took out. Like Hazza said, Jack the Ripper largely targeted "prossies" as they call them in the comic, and the identity of him was never discovered. That could be explained, in the comicverse, by the fact that BM killed him or that he was living in another world altogether.

I have mixed reactions about this issue. First, the good points. I loved the monologue that Bigby had in this issue. And even after taking all those hits, he was still thinking purely for Snow's well being, that was touching.
And a lot of interesting lines from Mary, and the way this whole scene played out was quite different from the game (oh well, guess I was wrong about Bigby killing off Dum part).
Now, the bad. Fight scene like Shubbalubbadingdong said, was pretty disappointing. It just felt way rushed (probably due to them trying to fit the whole fight into one issue I guess).
Another thing that baffles me is, did Snow really expect Bluebeard to come after Crooked Man and Bloody Mary if she and Bigby were killed? It just seems as if Snow at that moment was really naive or just didn't know Bluebeard at all (sure he has his own agenda for going after the Crooked Man, but Snow would have at least guessed it was all for wrong reasons).
Mix of Good and Bad issue, can't wait to see that whole heartwarming scene beween Bigby and Snow in Bigby's apartment. I guess that issue may be about 2 issues away (next issue with Snow letting Mary have Crane, so most likely issue #34)
I expected a longer fight scene, but im not disappointed about it. Clearly, theyre moving things along now that the BM backstory is wrapped up. They hit the major points of it, the Tweedles shooting him, Bigby stil coming and attacking. Since they both live, im not sure what else they should have done with it. Theres bigger fight scenes to come and of course the final fight is way more important than this one. Im sure it wil get its due. I guess it depends on how much you care about the recreationf of the fight scenes, which to me are more fun to play than read lol.
I dont know about Snow white assuming what you say, he was pretty strident about Finding Crane, wasnt he? I can see why she thinks he would keep on when he practically acts like hes in charge anyway, or tries to.

Extra touches like this, and scenes like when she cradles Bigby's head, and her facial expression of worry when doing so are what puts smile on my face (As someone who shipped Bigby x Snow since the very first issue of Fables).
Regarding Mary's flashback, I really do hope they finish her flashback in 1~2 issues and move onto flashbacks of other characters (such as Johann the butcher, Beauty and the Beast, Jersey Devil, Tiny Tim, Georgie and Vivian, and the Crooked Man). Any more than that would be just dragging her flashbacks out unnecessarily.

Am I the only who prefers Moore's illustrations? I don't know the name of the artist, but the on with the very hard lines and such it's kind of difficult to look at. Still fantastic, though. Just not my kind of art.

What you said here literally cleared my mind up so much, Thank you. Cause they are way more touchy-feely in TWAU than fables. And Snow is the type of person to distance herself and "push" people away. Bigby said it in the TWAU comics when she says "I'm not yours to lose!"

Snow is trying to distance herself from Bigby, and not only because she is now his Boss, but also because the apartment scene had her drop her barriers and get close to him, which is something Snow doesn't do. She can't really comprehend that she would actually care about Bigby the way she does when they don't appear to have any chemistry between them.
This is a point used for the later issues of Fables before their marriage, in which Snow is steadily breaking down her old barriers so she can truly love Bigby; as the series goes on she becomes warmer to him, and also begins to see him as a rock for her life...

Damn for some this reason this issue was really bad for me too. They've ruined one of the most badass moments in the game, I really hope they don't fuck up the Bloody Mary fight.
Today's comic was.... Somewhat interesting, to say the least (?). I liked it (and I like all of them), yet the Crooked Man's intro seems a bit wanky. The last time we saw Bloody Mary, she was about to end the lives of her three 'friends' (Elizabeth, Jane, and Henrietta), yet here she is in 'The Silvering', naked and in a glasshouse (coincidence?) where he finds her and asks her if she wants to be free with him (in the game she was free to do whatever she wanted as long as she was his bodyguard ("He promised her freedom to do as she pleased, as long as she agreed to act as his personal body guard and hit man." Quoted from Mary's Loyalty, Book of Fables)).
It was puzzling but Im sure that was the point, to knock us off kilter. How all this csme to be will be explained. im particularly interested to know why he looks so crooked in the comic and not on the game. What straightened him out? Very intriguing. And I love that smart mouthed pig. More Colin please lol

I was really disappointed in this issue. The most heartwarming and tender moment in the game (one moment I've really been looking forward to), between Snow and Bigby in his apartment, was just brushed off aside in this issue.
Sure the line of the scene was still there, but the execution through Sadowski's art was very very lacking (no tender expression from Snow like in the game, Snow just says the phrase sitting next to Bigby on the sofa. While having Snow put her hand on Bigby's chest was a nice gesture, it just didn't do that scene in the game justice. (But I guess even if they showed Snow's expression, with Sadowski's character expressions, it wouldn't have been that good anyway).
Also, this whole issue felt quite a bit rushed in my opinion (several scenes from the game compacted into one issue lol).
Guess this is the limitations of a comic compared to a game (though comic does have its advantages over the game as well e.g. expanding the mythology).
As for flashbacks, I'm glad Bloody Mary's flashbacks have ended, I think it was beginning to drag a bit. Looking forward to another character's flashbacks (like Crooked Man, Jersey Devil, Tiny Tim, etc)

I'm interested to read what you say about #150, so when you're ready, I would appreciate it if you could post your review on that little thread I created.
I was pretty indifferent to the ending of Jack of Fables. Sure it was a bit surprising, having pretty much everyone get killed, but since I didn't really like the series (though I did read through it, and still keep the TPBs due to my "completionist" attitude when it comes to Fables, LOL), and felt no attachment to any of the characters, their deaths didn't really change anything for me.
But it's a pretty much different with the main series (Which has plenty of characters I am attached to, am affectionate towards).
I'm waiting for GOT Episode 6 to be released, so I can play all episodes in one playthrough (haven't played any episodes yet).

Eventhough i have all the digital issues, It would be cool to have a physical copy for my shelf, maybe with some extras.

You're not the only one. I prefer his illustrations the most out of the group of artists they've had for the series.

Snow is trying to distance herself from Bigby, and not only because she is now his Boss, but also because the apartment scene had her drop her barriers and get close to him, which is something Snow doesn't do. She can't really comprehend that she would actually care about Bigby the way she does when they don't appear to have any chemistry between them.
This is a point used for the later issues of Fables before their marriage, in which Snow is steadily breaking down her old barriers so she can truly love Bigby; as the series goes on she becomes warmer to him, and also begins to see him as a rock for her life...

Damn for some this reason this issue was really bad for me too. They've ruined one of the most badass moments in the game, I really hope they don't fuck up the Bloody Mary fight.
Today's comic was.... Somewhat interesting, to say the least (?). I liked it (and I like all of them), yet the Crooked Man's intro seems a bit wanky. The last time we saw Bloody Mary, she was about to end the lives of her three 'friends' (Elizabeth, Jane, and Henrietta), yet here she is in 'The Silvering', naked and in a glasshouse (coincidence?) where he finds her and asks her if she wants to be free with him (in the game she was free to do whatever she wanted as long as she was his bodyguard ("He promised her freedom to do as she pleased, as long as she agreed to act as his personal body guard and hit man." Quoted from Mary's Loyalty, Book of Fables)).
So she didn't kill them and he's making her work for him
It was puzzling but Im sure that was the point, to knock us off kilter. How all this csme to be will be explained. im particularly interested to know why he looks so crooked in the comic and not on the game. What straightened him out? Very intriguing. I liked the issue, but the whole scene in Bigby's apartment was butchered (no pun intended) and felt rushed. And it was my favorite part of the game, so I was hoping for a bit more. And lol I really wished Moore illustrated it.
Still good, excited to see what comes of the Crooked Man.
I feel like the stuff we already saw in the game is shortened because, we already saw that and they want more room to tell new parts of the story. Its like waching a movie adaptation of your favorite novel when stuff gets left out to improve the pacing. I get people being disappointed but I personally dont mind it as Im loving all the backstory and extra material.
I was really disappointed in this issue. The most heartwarming and tender moment in the game (one moment I've really been looking forward to), between Snow and Bigby in his apartment, was just brushed off aside in this issue.
Sure the line of the scene was still there, but the execution through Sadowski's art was very very lacking (no tender expression from Snow like in the game, Snow just says the phrase sitting next to Bigby on the sofa. While having Snow put her hand on Bigby's chest was a nice gesture, it just didn't do that scene in the game justice. (But I guess even if they showed Snow's expression, with Sadowski's character expressions, it wouldn't have been that good anyway).
Also, this whole issue felt quite a bit rushed in my opinion (several scenes from the game compacted into one issue lol).
Guess this is the limitations of a comic compared to a game (though comic does have its advantages over the game as well e.g. expanding the mythology).
As for flashbacks, I'm glad Bloody Mary's flashbacks have ended, I think it was beginning to drag a bit. Looking forward to another character's flashbacks (like Crooked Man, Jersey Devil, Tiny Tim, etc)
Perhaps it is rushed, considering its a weekly instead of a monthly and they still have a lot of material to get through. I give them slack for that, they cant recreate the experience of playing the game but they can tell a good story for those who havent played the game.
If only I had the time, lol.
Yeah, but that Bigby and Snow scene was one of my favourite non-action scenes in the game. Really, really disappointed that's been almost cut though.....Sigh.....

I get it but what can you do? You'll always have the game anyway. I skimmed through the volume but i havent hade a chance to read it all the way. Ive been too busy. Same reason I havent played GOT ep 5 yet. Im waiting until I can really sit down and relax with it so probably wont be able to comment much. From what I could tell, it ended with a whisper instead of a bang which is not necessarily a bad thing. Jack of Fables's ending was balls out and people didnt sem to like that lol

I was pretty indifferent to the ending of Jack of Fables. Sure it was a bit surprising, having pretty much everyone get killed, but since I didn't really like the series (though I did read through it, and still keep the TPBs due to my "completionist" attitude when it comes to Fables, LOL), and felt no attachment to any of the characters, their deaths didn't really change anything for me.
But it's a pretty much different with the main series (Which has plenty of characters I am attached to, am affectionate towards).
I'm waiting for GOT Episode 6 to be released, so I can play all episodes in one playthrough (haven't played any episodes yet).
Yeah, I get it more now. Makes more sense, as they are paying waaayyy more attention to dialogue.
Quick FYI, the new issue is out already. Looks like they changed the scheduling again, and guess who's back.
