Didnt it? The writers seem to be having a ball with this storyline.

Shit went from 0-100 real quick in that last issue

  • Iam still wondering who the "mirror guy" is. Are there any good theories who he could be? And I really hope they will show us how Bloody Mary met the Magic Mirror, Bufkin (or maybe even the Mirror) said they have a history.

  • Well, I was a bit disappointed that Georgie used the word "Bint" instead of "Bit#$" he uses when Bigby comes in Pudding & Pie with Snow.

As for the flashback, it seems there was a slight time jump? So the real Mary is dead, and Bloody Mary is what her reflection was? Also, I was surprised that the mirror man was just caught off guard like that. Sure, he still had the gun pointed at her, but shouldn't he have at least suspected (even a little) something is amiss, instead of just letting her hold the child?

  • You were disappointed by that? I rather enjoy British swear words.

Hmm, Im not sure about the time jump. We saw the progression of the pregnancy over the nine months. As for Mirror Man, all I can think is he didn't expect her to do what she did, I sure didn't. He felt like he had her cowed, he treated her so abusively after he got what he wanted.

Bint is a swear word? I didn't know that (English is not my first langauage, you see...). Though I still wish they used "Bit#$" that we are so familiar with the game.

I kinda felt something was off with this Mary when I first saw her meet the Tweedle brothers. And didn't the mirror man say to her "I don't know who you are, but you are NOT Mary." ?

(I know it's just my opinion, but) If he was really that smart, then I think he really should have been more on guard, and not let this "so-called" Mary even touch the child (especially considering the glass child is so fragile, that he just shatters on impact).

  • Yeah. Bint is a derogatory word, especially in Britain...

Maybe he's not that smart. It took him a lot of tries to get what he wanted and that was after choosing someone so naïve, put upon and dim as Mary. It didn't seem like the mirror mary that he was involved with was that different from her. I think he just didn't expect her to go full psycho like that and destroy her own baby. He sure had a dumb look on his face, lol. She was very different from the mousy girl we knew leading up to this. Im just really intrigued to see where this goes. I really look forward to every episode. If we couldn't make room for this backstory in the game, Im glad we have the comic.

  • No problem. Yeah, i love how he's like. "Uh, what just happened?" He clearly did not know who he was dealing with.

  • No clue, someone who had left a lot of broken hearts in his wake, so a ladies man and a rogue who knows black magic. I dont know but Im dying to find out

  • This incarnation of Mary said that a part of her died. I think this Mary was the reflection and the real Mary did die, although I still don't understand how the Mirror Man cut her open when it was the reflection who had the baby.

The mirror guy really reminds me of the crooked man. Hiring the tweedles, "using" Bloody Mary, beeing a criminal and now that scene with the pistol which reminds me of that scene after the Bloody Mary fight in episode 5. I dont think he really is the crooked man (yet?), but the resemblance is interesting. And the fact that he doenst have a name yet could support that.

This comic is such a tease! Its going to give me ulcers, lol. So we still don't know who Mirror Man is and I suspect we may never. I get the feeling who he is is not as important as what he is and has done. He says he has a dozen more babies cooking out there. I wonder if that will come into play.

I also like the explanation of how Mary came to have all those glass shards in her body. They must only manifest when she becomes her ghost self, for maximum terrorizing ability. Clearly this mirror land is full of magic and the mirror image that became Bloody Mary is full of magic herself. Even Bigby can't make heads or tails of her and seems to have never experienced anyone like her before. Id like to see more of this place and the weird characters in it, like the wasp in a wig, lol.

Also, looking forward to more of the confrontation in present day and the battle between him and the Tweedles. Im going to predict that in the comic hes going to choose to let them boh live but we'll see. BM seemed extra saucy too, throwing some inappropriate comes-ons at Snow, lol. The final fight between her and Bigby is going to be amazing.

Where is this in the game, episode 3? We might get to a hundred issues before theyre done.

  • The only thing we did find out about the Mirror Man is that he was the Teedles' boss before the Crooked Man and Bloody Mary. And more hints for what will happen that I noticed through Bigby's inner monologues is that he will send Colin to the Farm so that someone else fully explains it. Bigby already knows the Tweedles' involvement and already wants to kill them for what happened at the funeral. My bet is that Bigby will throw Dee at the neon sign and kill Dum because of the past inner monologues.

Until Season 2 the comic will stop around issue #66 the way it's going.

  • I like the "Through the Looking-Glass" reference (when Alice meets the Tweedles for the first time). I'm looking forward to the final fight as well.

  • Yeah, thats very neat. As meek as the actual Mary is, her mirror image is the opposite. It makes so much sense and its cool that theyre bringing Alice in Wonderland into this in some way. I think we meet Alice in the main comic but we dont really explore her. She just gets hit on a lot, lol.

Hmmm.....there were a lot of new lines, and some new scenes in this issue, even though they were mostly scenes we've seen before. Mary going around Crane and Snow and trying to taunt them, and Bigby realising no reflection on Mary.

It seems Bigby previously met a Count with no reflection, I wonder who that is (it can't be Mirror Man, since he's trapped in the Mirror realm).

As for the flashback, it seems the Mirror Man finally got what he deserved (so I shed no tears for him), and Bloody Mary's transformation into her full self is complete (with her infusing her baby's glass flesh to her body).

Can't wait for next issue to see Bigby wolf out.

I have a feeling he's gonna kill Tweedle Dum (though I could be wrong).

I know but we dont explore her story. She mostly just sits around being haughty and annoyed if I remember right.

  • Yeah it's mostly Wicked John hitting on her and reminding her of the time they had sex :P

  • The Count Bigby met is quite obvious, though we will only hear about him in the game if we send Colin to the Farm and choose the right lines for it.

  • Bigby met Count Dracula and was actually pals with him to before Snow White took him to Fabletown.

Is this the Count that let Bigby stay on his land?

    I didn't know it was Dracula :/

  • It's implied he is. Frankenstein's monster later in the series kinda confirms it.

  • I'm pretty sure that Count wasn't Dracula then...

Bigby is in the Appalachian Mountains when Snow finds him, and they are located within the regions of the US. Dracula is from Transylvania :/

Plus the Count that Bigby met was enjoying the notoriety that Bigby's actions was giving him.

  • Fuck, it was the Carpathian Mountains... Dammit, my bad!!!

At least Fables suggests that the Count is just a man, who blamed all of Bigby's actions on himself :P

  • Well it depends. Frankenstein's monster claims the count he met in Transylvania did not have a reflection in the mirror and was a vampire.
So it's plausible he met (and fought) Count Dracula before he fought Bigby in WWII.

  • When Colin asks if Bigby will keep out of trouble, if you choose that you either can't make any promises or that you don't know. Colin will mention the Carpathians.

  • I think I nailed it in my prediction about both Tweedles living, and more importantly, My initial prediction about the Mirror Man being Jack the Ripper. I think Ill need to see the next issue to feel confident enought to start patting myself on the back, but I feel like thats right. It figures Mirror Mary would learn her tricks from such a fiend.
