  • I haven't preordered because I really REALLY want the pipboy edition, i heard that it may be available in some stores, so i am holding out for the chance of getting one. If that doesn't happen i'll buy it on day 1 release, probably at best buy or Gamestop. I plan on getting it originally on PS4 , then around xmas or so i plan on getting it again on PC, so i can play it with the mods.

The last time i preordered a game was Rome 2...

  • This is a old person rant. I am not talking to anyone in particular, but i think people should really be aware of the dangers of social media. As an adult, i don't really do any of that shit because once its out on the internet, it can be used against you for the rest of your life. I wouldn't let my children have social media accounts, to protect them from themselves, because anything they say is recorded. I tell my best friend all the time to be careful what you post on social media. For example i know a girl who i am really good friends with, she was denied a job because they found something on her facebook they didn't think was appropriate. It happens all the time, you don't think employers are looking you up, When i was working corporate, they would do professional background checks, you don't think they would search someone's name for social media?

There is a picture of Billy drinking, looking like a fool. I think we will pass on him, and go with Family Super Dad. People are judgemental, they pass judgements all the time. I guess my biggest problem in life was coming to the realization is everyone takes what i say as face value, which is unfortunately not the message i am trying to portray. When i was younger, i always felt like i always had to be the "entertainer", i think my personality is still trying to put on a show for people even if it is unconsciously.

Technology is getting bigger and bigger, and privacy is going away. You have to be aware of who is listening to your conversation. Every conversation you have on a cell phone is recorded digitally. I garentee it. They take those conversations and run it through a computer software, that searches for keywords like "bomb. Jihad", but how do we know it stops there, maybe they're searching for the word "democrat" "republican", whatever.

Long story short i guess, just know you can't be annon anymore. I like how all the phones are now tracking our locations. Why would the government need to know where we are, just seems a bit suspicious... We are being tracked by our phones and social media. If you think i am making this shit up, do your research, then come back and respond. I do research on topics, i find interesting.

    Yeah, it kinda sucks.

I understand that if a bad call happens, the Government should know their location.

    But other than that- really?

And social medias, I stopped posting on Facebook because I accidently enabled a feature where it would show my location with each post.

  • I agree 100%. I no longer use social media (besides LinkedIn, which is almost mandatory) and I took the data plan off my phone.

People aren't conscious that what they say can be overheard, through digital tracking or just old-fashioned eavesdropping.

Net privacy and neutrality are things of the past. In all the past budget bills, legislatures have been slipping through anti-privacy language as riders. It makes you wonder what, or who is motivating them to do so...and how.

  • Here is another thing about Big Brother. Do some research on Smart Meters.

Basically power companies such as AEP are installing these new power meters called smart meters that will now monitor our bandwidth, what television shows we watch, among other things, and sends this information right to AEP for some "reason."

Personally i don't want a smart meter, but they're forcing everyone in my area to have them replaced. It is mandatory if you want electricity.

  • LinkedIn

I remember when i was working at Nationwide Corporate, and they wanted me to create a Linkedin profile, i didn't want to, but i made it fun. I made it the fakest looking possible i could. I had pictures of me with my nephew, at his baptism, etc.

It was better than being on a 2 hour conference call, listening to stupid people complain, i am so glad i don't work there anymore. The corporate life isnt' for me, so many fakes.

  • Let's be honest here, there's a few things that could be used for. One is for Mark's whole conspiracy theory, and another is that they can monitor some of the activities you preform in order to sell it to companies which will then use it to change how they advertise and sell their products.

True, but in most cases the data is just logged and archived, not actively used against people.

Too right about whistleblowers though. It should be encouraged, not something that permanently fucks up your life. It's also pretty alarming how so many whistleblowers and "commit suicide" or "have an accident" shortly thereafter.

Yet no one seems to worry too much about tech corporations getting too powerful. Every day the lines between private and public get more and more blurred. Things that where once considered civil matters are now getting people arrested. While everyone wrings their hands and chases after the NSA red herring, we are giving over our privacy and our freedom for posting selfies and to google porn.
