Look who can't enough of this game! Did that asshole seriously sinned Beth's booty?

  • You know, I just had a funny thought in my head about how Until Dawn could have been played as something else.

What if Until Dawn was actually a slasher flick show, and all the characters were really just actors playing out their roles? Then shortly afterwards the reveal the actors find themselves under threat of the entire wilderness, the harsh snow storm, their producers and directors struggling to keep them all safe with miniscule supplies and with no outside contact for help whatsoever?

Probably an even worse idea than the Wendigo reveal, but as I said it was a funny thought in my head.

Ashleys the worst, clearly you havnt played through twice or seen some varitions of the game.

I liked all of them as characters though, they all acted mostly like actual people, with a bit of dumb horror added in. I felt most were likeable also

I don't know how you can say she's worse than Emily who bitched and whined from almost start to finish. Seriously her entire dialogue is her constantly talking, complaining and whining about everything, shes hysterical during the entire scene looking for sam. Then theres the whole response to the bite and of course this scene......

As far as I know no one else in the group intentionally lets someone else die purely out of spite. Emily is horrid and abusive towards matt and pretty annoying also but at least she can survive by herself, ashley just leans on others with the one time shes by herself resulting in her death.

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS

  • This is quite a simple scene, but it is by far one of my favorites in the game. Out of the few people that managed to save Matt almost none did it this way, so I'm glad I did something kind of unique in its own way.

  • Because Ashley is supposed to shut up and accept the fact that Chris deserves to live more than her if he wants her to die? Not to mention that when she asks to make the decision for herself, Chris (or rather the game) denies her that by not giving her the gun and he can still make his own decision to shoot her.

If my crush tried to have me killed once or twice and didn't trust me enough to make my own decision for them in the trap scene, I'd hesitate to help open the door myself in case they try to sacrifice me again and again.

You will also remember that at the end of the game, should that scenario play out and Ashley lives, she will state that she was too scared to move. Flght, flight or freeze response anyone? I believe that, if given enough time, she would have opened the door. Of course, she did not have enough time to overcome her fear and decide. You see, I do not think it was an act when Ashley said that it "was too late." That would belie the forthrightness and honesty the game explicitly tells you are strong qualities of hers.

He says "Oh the choices don't matter, just like in Telltale." "You stepped in Telltale territory again, Until Dawn." -_-

Lmao does he even know that the choices in Telltale games change the relationship with the characters around you? Looks like someone has to do some research first before creating an entire video. .-.

I don't think it makes me less of a fan by not having played the game myself. But, like I said, I'm getting the game for my birthday (9 days), so I'm looking forward to when I can play it then. I'm sorry if you find my misfortune off putting :/

I haven't finished the game yet since I had a lot of homework, but I'm really close to finishing it (ch.9) and I completely forgot the fact that the Wendigos can imitate humans... R.I.P Ashley :(

Anyways, when I listened to this song, I thought of Josh and what he did to the others so far. Plus, I think it just fits him.

The end of the video shows how ashley just flips on what she said, not to mention the differences in choosing one over another and just letting someone die is a huge difference.

This is also of course after chris saved ashley once already (even if chris chooses josh ashley thinks otherwise)

She doesn't specifically say 'shoot me', just 'let me choose to save you'. She wanted the gun so she would make the decision to save him. Chris' shooting Ashley instead of giving her the gun means to her that he didn't trust her enough to make the decision and is instead making the choice for her, which is to have her die in his place. Besides, who wants to be shot in the face by their crush or loved ones?

And yes, Chris may have already saved Ashley once, but is now deciding to have her die to save himself, while ignoring her final request to make the decision for once instead of him? Ashley would have lost some trust in Chris and would be scared of being captured yet again with Chris making yet another decision to make a sacrifice with her life on the line, and would be hesitant to help Chris knowing that he doesn't care about her as much as she thought he did.

And who can say that she deliberately left him to die? She wasn't smirking or scowling at him, which would imply more that she's angry at him enough to want him to die. Her face was frozen, much like how she was frozen in a 'fight or flight' scenario. She couldn't make the decision to open the door in time due to her own fear of Chris' decision to sacrifice Ashley once or twice, and wasn't sure if he was going to keep planning to have her killed.

Still is the worst thing any character can do in the game. Also is only the icing on the cake to the rest of her character which is also dreadful, you can play ashley to be more decent in some chapters but her background personality of being selfish, dumb, useless and hysterical do shine through

  • Why does this game hate Josh

  • edited October 2015

I'm annoyed they won't give Josh a happy ending because it would disrupt truths within the game. Total bull, I can see a way around it. Aside from that they could add other little extra things to the game. I love it when titles do that.

    selfish

Aside from not opening the hatch to investigate Jessica's/the Hannah Wendigo's voice, I cannot think of an instance wherein one could call her selfish. If you know any, enlighten me.

EDIT: Actually, looking back, I can name two aside from the one I mentioned (i.e. Her reluctance to find Sam and her potentially concealing the truth from within the stranger's journal. Although, I would not worry too much about the journal as that is very out of her character if you choose that road.

Okay, I may be a bit late in doing this, but here we are. I shall list the eight from favourite to least so.

    • CHRIS: As if there was any competition. He is a reflection of myself (save for his courage; I would probabky be rendered catatonic in those situations) in that he has a laughable sense of humour (pun intended), is obsessed with technology and is fiercely loyal to those he considers friends. He is impossible for me not to like.

    • ASHLEY: I can already hear you reaching for your gun safe, pitchforks and torches, but please hear me out. As a character, I did not mind her. As someone who is academic, inquisitive, and is prone to anxiety like her, I guess I simply feel drawn to her as a character. Plus, she has a crush on my favourite character. I will agree that she is the most useless, but not the worst nor (god forbid I say this) the most annoying in my opinion.

    • MATT: A nice guy, but a bit bland. I cannot say much more.

    • SAM: Same as with Matt. I would say that she is tied with him.

    • JOSH: I do not know enough of him to go by. He has some form of psycosis, of which he was afflicted and influenced by during the game. As a result, I do not know enough about him to actually think of his character. I will take what we have seen and say that he probably is an alright guy, ignoring his mental state.

    • JESSICA: As a person, she is not exactly one I would want to be friends with. However, she was tolerable. I guess one could say it is also a sympathy thing for me. I would say that I feel neutral about her.

    • MIKE: As far as cocky douchebags go, Mike fared better in my book. Still, his character is not that of someone I particularly like. He gets some slack because he ultimately means no malice and because there is one far worse than him (no prizes for guessing). I am, again, a bit neutral about this one.

    • EMILY: A bitch to everyone around her, obnoxiously narcissistic and utterly vindictive. Everyone else, I can tolerate. Emily however, oh man alive, I loathe her. She does have her moments, and I do appreciate her swift mind. However, at the end of the day, I absolutely abhor her. All of this, and she treats Matt, her beau, like utter shit and is quite possibly cheating on him. There is absolutlely nothing about her as a character I can find to like her for, excepting maybe her intellect and one or two of her lines.

  • I find the actors of Mike, Matt and Jess just make them overall likable in how they act, characters are maybe not that interesting but still good. Not knocking the other actors however these three were the ones that stood out.Matt scenes in the DLC mostly

    Chris is funny

Josh is ...weird but a decent character, I dont get the massive love for him though Im guessing because hes the only one with no happy ending

Sam is a bit dull really, little to no character arc apart from maybe warming up to most of her old group again, i feel she fell apart from them

Ashley is annoying.... though overall the character is decent enough. However every playthrough I just tend to see her as a massive fake given her reactions to most situations.

Emily has a decent arc, clearly a horrible person but a decent enough story arc.

While I dont like some of them I feel most are well written outside of a few points that make little sense and this includes most choices.

  • If it's cheap I'd get it! But it's not exaclty what made me get Until Dawn, and this seems more like a mini game. Not what I wanted from a potential dlc. I guess they're going to do a lot of VR marketing over the next year, and Until Dawn sold over expectations so this is a good opportunity to test the market.
